This is a research oriented thesis and the aim of the study was to strived to know how sports can be used as a tool in child development and education.The target group were the service users of 09Helsinki Human Rights who take part in the free sporting activities organised by 09Helsinki. The methodology of the study was qualitative which involved interviews with five children between the ages of seven to ten from 09Helsinki Human Rights.
The data collection was done through two different types of interviews: general interview guide approach and a close fixed response interviews. The data was analysed using the thematic analysis and the findings of research revealed that sports plays a great role in child development and education through the sporting activities organised by 09Helsinki Human Rights. This was explained by the following themes which had been categorised from the data: teamwork, morals, social development and social networking.
