Som referenser används bl.a. Audio engineer´s reference book av Michael Talbot-Smith och The Science of Sound av Rossing, Moore och Wheeler. The way sound is reproduced in a room is not only depending on the quality of the sound system that is used, but to a high extent on the physical attributes of the room and the placement of the loudspeakers within it. The evolution of sound technology has however given us products that strive to compensate for the negative impact the room itself imposes on sound that is reproduced in it. This technology is commonly known as Digital Room Correction (DRC). KRK Ergo is a product that incorporates DRC in a sound reproduction system. This degree thesis evaluates how well Ergo manages with this task. The reader will learn about basic phenomena and concepts within small room acoustics, and the theory is later implemented on the listening room that Ergo is tested in. The tests are done with two different speaker line-ups, and the electrical and acoustical frequency responses are measured with the test system Clio. The results of this thesis shows that Ergo does not manage to improve the quality of sound reproduction in the listening room. The Audio engineer’s reference book by Michael Talbot-Smith and The Science of Sound by Rossing, Moore and Wheeler are used as main references for the theory in the thesis.
