Tiivistelmä
This thesis was a developmental project to program and test a storage con-veyor model developed by the Research and Development Center of HAMK University of Applied Sciences. The model will be used to facili-tate teaching PLC programming.
The objective of this thesis was to design a PLC program (with SIEMENS STEP 7) for the control of the model and test out its functionality. Other objectives included the design of a user’s manual for the model, improve-ment recommendations and identification of bugs in the model.
The thesis work was divided into three main sections. The first section deals with the programming of the model using SIEMENS STEP 7. The second part involves the testing of the model and bug identification. The final part describes the design of a user’s manual for the model.
In conclusion, a demo program was designed, improvement recommendations were made, and a user manual was developed for the model.
