The purpose of this study was to find out what kinds of methods support the social development of children with ADHD or ADHD like problems. Because participation is an important aspect of every individual, I also wanted to find out if these methods increase the participation of children. The study is based through a professional perspective and the target group of the study is children in the daycare age. My questions were answered through a literature review: 1) What methods support the social development of children with ADHD? and 2) do these methods support also the child's participation? My theoreti-cal framework consists of social pedagogy and participation. My study includes five scientific articles and six researches, which were analyzed using a content analysis. The results show that the methods that support the social development of children with ADHD or ADHD like problems are different forms of psychosocial support methods. The psychosocial support methods are different types of medication -free methods, which are of-ten used in various forms of psychosocial interventions and programs, and is useful directly in the child's living environment as in the daycare, school and at home. All of these methods encourage the child to function in positive interactions with others that also strengthens the child's development of social skills and participation. The secure adults were found to have a significant role in the child’s support process, meaning the child's parents and the professionals who are close to the child's life. The play and physical activities are also methods that support the child's social development and participation.
