The success or failure of any institution depends heavily on its financial prowess and it is generally understood that the skillful management of grants is the essence of any successful public university. Trained Deans, Heads- of schools, and Departments, as well as their assistants, have to be suitably versed in the cradle-to-grave financial controls and disbursement of this integral part of the university system.
This study will provide a literary discourse on the essentials of grant funding management and the aligned financial management policies within the university. The fieldwork seeks to identify possible problems - such as under expenditure of allocated grant funding - and aims to provide suitable solutions to bring about financial efficacy.
The target audience of this study is university faculty executives, deans, university capacity development grant administrators per faculty, as well as institutional grant monitoring & evaluation expert. Questionnaires will be used to critically establish feedback from members on the confluence of factors that determine the structural successful financial management within the respective units.
