TIIVISTELMÄ Kuivalainen, Teemu. Paimen, sotilas, kuningas, raamattuseikkailuleiri pojille. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to create new material that dwelled its theme from the Bible and was specifically “boy-view”-oriented for church school-aged youth work. The aim of the material was that it would pay attention to a boys needs as a learner and as a developing human being, and furthermore would utilize their already existing capabilities as learners. The process started in September 2012 and continued till September 2013. The camp was named after its precise theme as “Paimen, sotilas, kuningas seikkailuleiri”, meaning Herder, soldier, king – adventure camp, due to the theme of King David. The process included collecting theory, charting of already existing material of this kind, putting the material together, planning the camp, executing it and finally estimating the success of the project. The camp where material was tested had 36 attendants of which 28 were campers, four YCVs it means young Christian volunteers, and four instructors. The material was tested over a weekend long camp in The Parinpelto camp center in Hollola from 17th May till 19th May 2013. The first version of the material was complete in may 2013, before the camp where it was tested. After the camp the final version of the material was complete in june 2013. The product is practical, easy to adapt and congenial for the target group. The theoretical basis for the material was Christian education, adventure pedagogy, the meaning of a tale, the teaching of the Bible and capabilities and needs of boys.
