Työntekijöiden ja esimiesten näkemyksiä etäjohtamisesta

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tutkia etäjohtamista esimiesten ja työntekijöiden näkökulmista. Tutkimusmenetelmänä oli kvalitatiivinen tutkimus johon tietoa kerättiin teemahaastatteluilla. Tutkimukseen osallistui kolme yritystä jotka kaikki toimivat IT-alalla. Yksi yritys tarjosi palveluita IT-infrastruktuurin kehittämiseen ja hallintaan, toinen oli tiedolla johtamiseen erikoistunut palveluyritys ja kolmannen liiketoimintaa olivat palvelu- ja projektijohtamisen käytännöt. Jokaisesta yrityksestä haastatteluun osallistui vähintään yksi esimies ja kaksi asiantuntijaa. Kaikki haastatellut henkilöt tekivät töitä myös etätyönä ja heitä myös etäjohdettiin.
Haastatteluista nousi selkeästi esille neljä teemaa: ihminen, organisaatio, tekniikka ja kehittäminen. Opinnäytetyössä keskitytään etätyön ja etäjohtamisen inhimillisiin piirteisiin eikä etätyössä käytettyjä tekniikoita ja sovelluksia esitellä tarkemmin.
Opinnäytetyössä haettiin vastauksia siihen miten työntekijöiden ja esimiesten näkemykset etäjohtamisesta ja sen tarpeista eroavat toisistaan ja siihen miten etäjohtamista voitaisiin kehittää. Haastatteluista voitiin nähdä, että näkemykset olivat melko samankaltaisia. Suurimmat erot syntyivät yritysten organisaatiokulttuurista ja -rakenteista.
Kehityskohteet liittyivät myös yritysten organisaatiorakenteisiin joissa on tärkeää ottaa myös etätyön ja etäjohtamiseen tuoma ulottuvuus huomioon. Etäjohtamista voi myös kehittää muokkaamalla yrityksen viestintää ja kommunikointia etätyömalliin sopivammaksi....

These thesis was carried out in North Karelia municipal education and training consortium. In the field of vocational education and training there will be significant changes in the near future in the qualifications criteria as well as in the funding model of education. This work aims to explore the current state of education in one of the professional basic degrees in order to meet the future requirements in the best possible way. The study consists of the mapping of the current state of basic degree in construction field at North Karelia College Joensuu technology and culture from the perspective of organizational behavior. The work seeks to determine what organizational behavior aspects guide activities, and how well the organization can meet the individual goals of today’s students. The study was a qualitative case study. The research data was collected using semi-structured theme interviews, as well as the organization's student feedback survey data from different years. The study included seven members of the organization at different levels. According to the survey the current state of the organization is guided by the employees’ good attitude and motivation to work. In addition, the prevailing atmosphere and culture support the activities. The students' individual targets will be answered well in the prevailing atmosphere. This work will utilize the students' individual education plan and the teacher-student dialogue....

Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) is a food safety management system, which is a part of broader scope for risk management initiatives throughout a company. Food safety is tackled through the analysis and control of different kinds of hazards, such as biological, chemical or physical hazards. HACCP is applied to every process step in the chain of food production from raw materials, procurement and processing to manufacturing and distribution. The purpose of this study was to extend the generic HACCP model to flexible packaging industry. Because flexible packaging is in direct contact with food and medical products, the company has to evaluate risks and hazards to the final consumer in a systematic fashion. HACCP is the proven standard for food industry, but the guidelines for implementing such a system to flexible packaging manufacturers are quite scarce. This thesis examines the state of competence management in client’s organization. The aim was to create a comprehensive picture of the baseline of competence management in the organization. The mapping of these bases is to contribute to the development of competence management. This thesis examines the theory of competence and competence management in the literature review, which acted as the basis for the analysis of the interview. The interview was conducted as semi-structured interview. Ten people were interviewed for the study, six from the expert level, two middle managers and two from the operational management team. The advantage of a semi-structured interview in this study can be found in its suitability for the research topic, which all the interviewees are not used to discus daily. Compared to unstructured interview the advantage is that the amount of collected data is more reasonable. As the key areas for development, the study defined clarifying the role of competence management and activities related to implementing strategy and critical competencies. One of the main strengths of the organization was found in the prevailing atmosphere of competence management, which was responding very well for the individual’s willingness to learn. Overall, the study managed to map the state of competence management in relation to the state of generally prevailing theory, the basis of which was also potential for further research....

The purpose of this thesis was to make a lean management modeling to the Valio Ltd Joensuu Plant. The subject was approached by doing the current state description of the management team of the existing organization. The description of the current state of the organization took into account the information flow, as well as the management team’s role descriptions. Information flows were mapped using theme interviews by interviewing the management team. In addition, workload levels were calculated on the basis of nine weeks from the management team. The current state descriptions of the roles’ workload levels were very high with one exception and more than 100 per cent workloads were found. The role descriptions were relatively up-to date, but part of the descriptions had some missing tasks. These role descriptions would be good to go through by the value stream mapping and make the information flow through cohesive entities. This thesis is presented in three different management models, shown in an organization chart. These models have considered streamlined information flow. In addition, the use of lean tools to use as a management tool was also dealt with in this thesis....

Public procurements are strictly regulated by law and different national instructions. The purpose on the regulations is to ensure equal treatment of companies during the procurement. This study examines the differences in the procurement methods, which are defined in the law of public procurements, and how different procurement methods apply to the acquisition of a wide information system. The goal of the study was to find out which procurement method is the most agile. The study tries to solve how to use traditional and agile system requirement specification methods to define the information system that is under procurement. Furthermore, the differences between the traditional and agile system requirement specification methods were studied in this thesis. The empirical part of study is the case study, which deals with the system requirement specification of the emergency response information system, and the procurement of the system. The results of the study include the following: the consultation method was suitable for the procurement of the emergency response information system.
