Abstract Rewarding is a management tool that supports your company's success. Rewarding is also to encourage staff to work according to company's strategy, values and targets. Rewarding should be seen as investment to generate revenue and develop business and competitiveness, and therefore rewarding should always be linked to the factors that improve company's productivity. The purpose of the thesis was to develop a new instant rewarding system for Pohjois-Karjalan Osuuspankki, which would increase employee motivation and at the same time the enhance the successful development of the bank. Thesis was performed as a practical, development task and the approach was constructivist. The material was collected from the current by the Pohjois-Karjalan Osuuspankki staff with an electronic survey and by interviewing two of the Pohjois-Karjalan Osuuspankki team leaders. The data were analyzed by using the Webropol survey tool, by means of grouping and grading. The results of the survey showed that the instant rewarding system is considered necessary in the Pohjois-Karjalan Osuuspankki. The instant rewarding system should be more equitable and more clearer. Additionally it should be possible to get also non-sales incentives. Based on the results of the survey and interviews, a proposal was made to introduce a new instant rewarding system, which is described in the results of the thesis. As an opportunity for further development, it would be interesting to implement a instant rewarding system first in the Pohjois-Karjalan Osuuspankki and later the other cooperative banks of the group....

Recruitment is a direct investment in the company's business and for SMEs it is almost a question of life and death. Companies are more interested in finding people with a personality that is suitable for the company, than a certain set of skills. This type of team interview would most likely ensure, finding a suitable person for the corporate culture. The aim of this thesis was to develop team interview techniques in recruitment for small businesses. Based on the results of the study, the objective is to establish a team interview technique model. Team Interview is a new perspective for theses in Karelia UAS, this thesis will offer useful information on the implementation of the job interviews for SMEs. This thesis study was carried out as qualitative constructive research, using theme interview, a group chat, benchmarking and observation as research methods. Based on the study results, it can be said that good preparation, division of the roles of the interviewers, and pre-thought-out questions are essential elements of the team interview. This thesis focuses on improving marketing communication to potential applicants at Karelia University of Applied Sciences. The objective was to find out what kind of marketing communication is interesting and meaningful for potential applicants. Secondary objective was to gain knowledge about what phases there are on applicant’s journey from a potential applicant to a university student. The study is an action research, in which marketing communication was observed through the university choice model. The research was carried out by interviewing potential applicants in small groups. The interviewees were selected as a random sample within the North Karelian youth. In addition to group interviews, improvement propositions were requested from Karelia UAS staff with a questionnaire. The content analysis was then performed on both interviews and questionnaire responses. The theoretical basis for this thesis was constructed on both domestic and international research on digital marketing and social media, university marketing and youth as target group. As a result of this study Karelia UAS gained suggestions for improving marketing communication and tools, for example videos. In addition, more information was gained about applicant’s journey and its duration. The subject of this thesis studying and evaluating the orientation of masters of store groups in Alko Oy. The purpose of the thesis was to study the starting point of their new role from their point of view and to look for development targets for the following masters. The first masters started their new assignment in October 2017. This study was carried out as an action study using the Webropol survey for service and selection masters and service managers of Alko Oy as an information acquisition method. There were also open questions in the questionnaire that provided additional information for research. In the theoretical background the orientation, renewal of work tasks reorganization of the workforce and service manager’s support for skills development were covered. Many vocational education and training organizations have experienced major changes over the last few years. Financial support for education has decreased and the new reform of vocational education and training has forced education providers to change their ways of working. Nowadays fewer resources must be able to do more. That is why well-being at work must be paid special attention. This thesis is a case study. It aims at developing well-being at work in the North Karelia Municipal Education and Training Consortium in the context of a change of organization. With the work-barometric survey and the interviews for the thesis, the aim was to find genuine job wellbeing development targets for the organization. This thesis explored how well-being at work is felt in the organization. This study also examined, what kind of actions could be taken to improve well-being at work and how the change is considered in well-being at work. Based on the research, there been found three well-being development points in the organization; improving the working atmosphere, improving change management, and increasing work engagement. The study found that the importance of management skills is great when there are changes, and in the welfare of people. Leadership and management skills cannot be overemphasized when talking about well-being at work and its development. In the future, it would be interesting to study the managerial change, management skills and their development....

The energy sector is facing major changes. The drivers for development include, global climate and environmental problems and world population trends. It is clear, that one actor cannot solve the whole, but without measures in the energy sector, the problem can´t be solved. Companies should consider the growing role of the customer as part of the future energy system when developing and delivering customer experience. The purpose of the thesis was to create a proposal about customer experience development model for the organization. Another aim was to test how service design can help develop the customer experience of e-service and how customers can be involved in its development. An essential element in creating a customer experience development model was to identify the factors influencing the customer experience of an electric company and their consideration in strategies and management. The information bases examined key areas affecting the formation of customer experience, and sought information on value creation for customers. In the research section, the elements of the model for developing the customer experience of an electric company were studied through case study and service design. The key observation was that the development of customer experience should always go from the corporate culture and business strategy, objectives and offering. One central operating model for developing a customer experience model may be service design and its various tools. The purpose of this thesis was to develop supply chain management at Exel Composites Kivara factory and so increase the fluency of the process, timely deliveries and production quantities. It focused on a process, which started from a customer’s order and ended to the arrival of procured materials. The main problems were shortage of materials, missing purchases, deceleration of sales order confirmations caused by delayed purchase order confirmations, complexity of subcontracting management, remaining of raw materials to the warehouse, lack of visualization and inadequate support from the system to the management of products and supply chain. The research problem was selected in three workshops by Exel's supply chain personnel and by afterwards analyzing. The selected problem was undone purchase orders. The used methods were interviews, workshops and some lean methods, such as value stream mapping together with 5-times-why and A3 problem solving models. Interviews focused on the status of strategic supply chain management both in the commissioner organization and in the reference enterprises. Their result was, that the main part of the supply chain management, procurement, was rather advanced, and the shortage of time limited most further development. All the main problems were covered partially, and the chosen issue extensively. The solution, which effected mostly the process, was the plan concerning the deployment of a pull controlled two bin inventory system for certain products. Furthermore, steps to the recommended leadership were composed. Future development can, for example, consist of mapping ideal value stream, increasing the variety of consignment stocks, utilization of total cost analysis, classification of the suppliers and developing of co-operation systematically particularly with the strategic suppliers....
