Orientation program for the Emergency Duty Services in Tuusula Health centre This thesis was made cooperation with the head nurse and staff of Tuusula health centre. A new orientation program was commissioned by the head nurse of the health centre. Emergency duty is a workplace where employers often changes, so there was a need for an orientation program. The aim of the thesis was to produce a new orientation program for the benefit of future employees and students of Tuusula´s health centre. The objective of the new orientation program was to provide an introduction to the organization as well as to help form a general view of the work making it easier for new employees to get started. In the report section of the thesis we go through the main issues regarding orientation: goals and benefits follow up and evaluation, concerning and the actual work guidance. The new orientation program was made in electronic form and can be read using the terminals at Tuusula´s health centre as well as in the Intranet of the municipality of Tuusula. The orientation program includes an information package regarding Tuusula municipality as an employer, Tuusula´s health centre as an organization, and lots of useful information for new employees concerning employment by the municipality. The reason for choosing the subject for the thesis was to meet the needs of the work unit. Touch Me – Producing a Baby Massage DVD as Tutorial Material for Kiikku-vauvaperhetyö® The purpose of this thesis is to produce a DVD about baby massage. The DVD is meant for the HUCH Hospital for Children and Adolescents at the Epilepsy Unit to the Kiikku-vauvaperhetyö® workers' tutorial material while guiding and supporting the families with babies. The purpose of Kiikku-vauvaperhetyö® is to support parenthood as well as the forming of the attachment relationship. The purpose is to prevent and identify possible risk factors that might weaken the forming of this relationship. The thesis was implemented with the cooperation of Laurea University of Applied Sciences and HUCH Hospital for Children and Adolescents. The purpose of this DVD is to encourage parents to touch and massage the baby and therefore support the forming of early interaction. Whilst a high-quality interactive relationship is born that baby has a possibility to form a safe attachment relationship to the parents. The DVD in the thesis was produced according to a theoretical context. In the theoretical context is emphasized the early interaction, the meaning of touch and baby massage as supporting the early interaction and the affection relationship. The DVD's evaluation material was collected as a questionnaire to an infant family worker. The questions were made as open questions by the standard criteria for a good health material. The evaluation of the thesis was targeted to the content, appearance and utility of the DVD. The DVD was evaluated useful as a whole and it corresponds well its purpose. The infant family worker will be utilizing the baby massage DVD at her work. On the basis of the evaluation the DVD fulfils the criteria set to it. In the future the DVD could be developed on the basis of the feedback given by the families and the infant family workers. In addition the DVD can be updated according to the latest research results....

On which grounds does the graduating nursing student (AMK) choose the future working place The aim of this study is to produce information of the grounds of how the student makes decisions when considering the first working place after graduating. The most essential terms of this study are graduating nursing student and attractive health care. This study continues Mansnér’s and Vengasaho’s (2008) study titled Attractive Health Care Concept Analysis According to Hybrid Model. The approach in this study is qualitative. The method of collecting material for this study was theme interviews. Five graduating nursing students participated in the interview sessions. The themes of the interviews were based on the terms generated in the study of Mansnér and Vengasaho (2008): the atmosphere of the working place, qualitative care culture, professional satisfaction, care management, ambitious organisation culture, patient orientation, autonomy in nursing, condition and location of the organisation, good reputation of the organisation as employer, the factors reducing the attractiveness. The interviews were analysed by using deductive concept analysis. The findings of the theme interviews are consistant with the consepts created in Mansnér’s and Vengasaho’s study. Those interviewed described their own thoughts of the organisation where they wanted to work after graduating. The new employee is taken care of, the care culture aims at varied duties and development. There is a good employee to work load, superiors support employee and different duties are considered. Patient orientation is considered already in recruiting discussion. Responsibility is given and the employee can influence on matters. The nature and content of the work are more important than working conditions and the location of the work place. Experiences from students clinical placements, wages and reputation are considered important....

Surveying of the present situation of the medical treatment of the home care of Vantaa The goals of medication are enhancement of people’s health and prevention, research, curing and progress slowing of diseases. Medication is also used to prevent complications and ease symptoms. Rationales for the use of medication come from the individual needs of patient. The aim of this thesis is to survey the realization of homecare medication in the city of Vantaa. The realization is researched from the point of view of pharmacological skills, realization of documentation, fulfillment of decrees and sharing of responsibilities. It was possible to identify the subjects of development of the medical treatment on the basis of the charting. The thesis is commissioned by the city of Vantaa. Theme interview was used as a collecting method of the data of the thesis.The data was col-lected by interviewing the nurses of the home care of Myyrmäki and Martinlaakso. The analy-sis was done by using the inductive content analysis method. According to the results of this thesis, the follow-up of patient’s health condition during me-dication was the responsibility of every personnel of the homecare unit. Distribution error was the most common error in medication and primary reasons for that were hurry and lack of staff. Divergence reports were filled out when divergences occurred in medication, though hurry sometimes prevented that. Documentation was every nurse’s responsibility. There were documentation shortages in home folder concerning medication due to hurry. Of the permission practices it was been aware as a rule. The maintaining of the know-how was every nurse's responsibility and not been not arranged the regular checking of the know-how. The responsibilities and duties were divided according to education and laws and regulations. The doctor had comprehensive re-sponsibility from the coming true of the medical treatment but the nurse's also responsibility was emphasised. The doctor shortage and a doctors' constant turnover got to be a problem in the management of responsibilities....
