3.lukuvuoden sairaanhoitaja- ja terveydenhoitajaopiskelijoiden valmiudet kohdata ja hoitaa traumaattisessa kriisissä olevaa

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on tuoda tietoa joka päiväsestä kriisityöstä ja traumaattisessa kriisissä olevan auttamisesta sekä kohtaamisesta. Selvitimme Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulun Porvoon yksikön 3.lukuvuoden hoitotyönopiskelijoiden tietoja traumaattisessa kriisissä olevan ihmisen kohtaamisesta ja hoidosta.
Tutkielma on kvalitatiivinen eli laadullinentutkimus. Se toteutettiin Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu Porvoon yksikön 3. lukuvuoden hoitotyönopiskelijoille lokakuussa 2011. Aineisto kerättiin essee vastauksien muodossa suoraan kohderyhmältä. Tutkielma sisälsi taustatietoja selvittäviä sekä avoimia kysymyksiä. Kyselyymme vastasi 33 sairaanhoitaja- ja terveydenhoitajaopiskelijaa. 2 kyselylomaketta palautui meille lähes tyhjänä, joten tutkielmaan otettiin mukaan 31 vastausta. Tutkielmantulosten analysointi tapahtui sisällönanalyysi menetelmää käyttäen.
Tutkielmantulokset osoittivat, että kohderyhmämme sairaanhoitaja- ja terveydenhoitajaopiskelijat osasivat kuvailla traumaattista kriisiä tai ainakin antaa esimerkkejä siitä mikä voi aiheuttaa traumaattisen kriisin. Suuri osa vastaajista osasi kuvailla keskeisiä asioita traumaattisen kriisin hoidosta, mutta moni vastaajista koki omat valmiutensa vielä puutteellisiksi. Sairaanhoitaja- ja terveydenhoitajaopiskelijat kokivat koulutuksen, kokemuksen ja henkilökohtaisten ominaisuuksiensa vaikuttavan omiin valmiuksiinsa kohdata ja hoitaa traumaattisessa kriissä olevaa....

Uuden työntekijän perehdyttäminen Kellokosken sairaalan osastolle 12

Tämän opinnäytetyön toimeksiantaja on Helsingin ja Uudenmaan sairaanhoitopiirin Kellokosken sairaalan osasto 12. Osasto 12 on 19-paikkainen akuuttipsykiatrian osasto, joka on tarkoitettu sekä miehille että naisille. Osasto tarjoaa jatkohoitoa Helsingin ja Uudenmaan sairaanhoitopiiriin kuuluville aikuispsykiatrian potilaille. Osastolle tarvittiin ajan tasalla oleva ja käytäntöä palveleva perehdytysohjelma.
Opinnäytetyöprosessi aloitettiin tutustumalla perehdyttämiseen liittyvään kirjallisuuteen. Keskityimme ensiksi työstämään opinnäytetyön kirjallista osuutta, jonka perusteella pystyimme luomaan käytännöllisen perehdytysohjelman. Osaston hoitohenkilökunnalla oli mahdollisuus antaa kehitysehdotuksia koko ajan perehdytysohjelman työstämisen aikana.
Opinnäytetyömme kirjallisessa osuudessa käsittelemme perehdyttämistä, työnopastusta, mentorointia, psykiatrista hoitotyötä sekä lainsäädäntöä.
Uuden työntekijän laadukas perehdyttäminen säästää aikaa ja rahaa. Kun perehdyttäminen on hoidettu hyvin, uuden työntekijän oppiminen on tehokasta ja oppimisaika on lyhyempi. Laadukas perehdyttäminen vaikuttaa siihen, että uusi työntekijä suhtautuu myönteisesti perehdytettävään työhön sekä työyhteisöön ja tämä lisää työhön sitoutumista. Perehdyttämisen tulee aina olla hyvin suunniteltua ja pitää sisällään uuden työntekijän osaamisen kehittämisen sekä käytännön toimet, jotka helpottavat alkuun pääsemistä uudessa työssä.
Saimme työstettyä teoreettisen tiedon sekä osaston henkilökunnan toiveiden pohjalta käytännöllisen ja selkeän perehdytysohjelman. Perehdytysohjelma otetaan käyttöön vuoden 2011 loppupuolella....

Methods to help peace in classroom – The Incredible Years Program from teacher’s point of view. The aim of this thesis was to find out what kind of experiences teachers have about The Incredible Years Program. The Incredible Years Program has been developed by Carolyn Webster-Stratton. It is designed to be used with children who have conduct disorders. The objective of this programme is to promote children’s social and emotional development, reduce behavior caused by conduct disorder and improve children’s problem solving skills. This thesis was assigned by the family association promoting mental health, association Uusimaa (Omaiset mielenterveystyön tukena Uudenmaan yhdistys ry). There is no previous research from this point of view. The authors of this thesis hope that the thesis will benefit the family association promoting mental health, association Uusimaa. The authors also wish that this thesis familiarizes this programme to those who work with conduct disorders and at the same time support their work. The family association promoting mental health, association Uusimaa sent three teachers to Wales to receive The Incredible Years Program education in summer 2010. Those three teachers are the first teachers in Finland who have received this education. One teacher was interviewed for this thesis. This thesis discusses primary school students because the teacher interviewed in this thesis is primary school teacher. Qualitative research method was applied in this thesis. The interview was a theme interview, which was recorded. The material has been analyzed by using material based content analysis method. As only one teacher was interviewed for this thesis, the results cannot be generalized. The interview shows how demanding children with conduct disorder are in school and how difficult their teaching and controlling is. There can be found some similarities to research papers presented in this thesis. Based on the interview, teachers coping and management were emphasised. The tools given can help cope with the situations in the classrooms faster and more efficiently. They can also make pupils notice their own behavior. The interview did not provide any answers for the questions concerning the cooperation between the school and home. The Incredible Years Program gives tools to teachers and the tips given can help teaching. This is the first thesis in Finland made from this point of view. The subject should be studied more and it would be advisable to have more teachers involved in this programme so that there would be reliable results....

Handle and care of patients with mental health disorder : a guide for the nurses of Jorvi hospital medical ward In this practice-based thesis we produced a guide for the nurses of Jorvi hospital medical ward to help them in the approach to and care of patients with mental health disorders. The thesis includes both a theoretical part and a practical guide. For a long time there has been a separation between psychiatric care and somatic care. This is one of the main reasons why nurses working in somatic care units do not have all the skills needed to care for patients with mental health problems. The purpose of this guide was to develop the ability of the Jorvi’s medical staff to better handle and care for mentally ill patients. In the guide we have summarized the theoretical part of our subject. Based upon the staff’s request, at the end of the guide, we have also added a list of useful Internet sites, useful literature as well as contact information of mental health associations in Espoo and other local authorities. In the theoretical part, we discuss mental health, the most common mental health disorders, the most commonly used medications for those illnesses, as well as how to handle patients with mental health disorders. Ortopedisen päivystyspotilaan tiedonkulun kriittiset pisteet siirroissa päivystyspoliklinikal-ta osastolle K3 Kirjallisuuskatsaus

Opinnäytetyömme kuuluu Laurea Tikkurilan ammattikorkeakoulun hoitotyön linjan ja Helsingin ja Uudenmaan sairaanhoitopiirin (HUS) Peijaksen sairaalan kehittämistyöhankkeeseen, jossa kehittämistyön tarpeen määrittely kuvataan kaksivaiheisesti. Opinnäytetyömme toimii kehittämishankkeen ensimmäisenä osiona antaen teoreettisen viitekehyksen hankkeen toisen vaiheen empiiriseen osioon, jossa keskitytään tiedonkulun kehittämiseen projektiluonteisesti moniammatillisessa työryhmässä yhdessä päivystyspoliklinikan henkilökunnan kanssa.
Tiedonkulussa tapahtuvat katkokset ovat riski potilasturvallisuudelle ja hyvän hoidon toteu-tumiselle. Viestinnällä, henkilökunnan ammattitaidolla, suullisella ja kirjallisella raportoinnilla koettiin olevan suuri merkitys tiedonkulun katkeamattomalla kululle päivystyspoliklinikalta osastolle K3.
Projekti aloitettiin lokakuussa 2010 ja päätettiin toukokuussa 2011. Sairaanhoidonopiskelijat kirjoittivat kirjallisuuskatsauksen ja teemahaastattelun tulosten pohjalta tulokset auki ja tekivät suositukset tärkeimmäksi nousseista tiedonkulun kriittisistä pisteistä, jotta näihin voitaisiin kiinnittää paremmin huomiota potilaan siirtyessä päivystyspoliklinikalta osastolle K3. Projekti eteni suunnitellusti ja hanketyöskentely vahvisti ammattiidentiteetin kasvua ja syvensi asiantuntijuutta ortopedisestä potilaasta sekä tiedonkulun katkoksien aiheuttamista ongelmista.
Projektin tuotosta voidaan jalostaa päivystyspoliklinikan henkilökunnan kanssa, yhteisen toi-mintamallin löytämiseksi. Inhimilliset tekijät, työntekijän kokemattomuus ja kiire ovat tekijöitä, jotka altistavat tiedonkulun katkoksille ja tarkastuslistan avulla voidaan parantaa tiedonkulkua, joka vaikuttaa suoraan ortopedisen potilaan hoitoprosessiin, potilasturvallisuuteen ja hyvän hoidon toteutumiseen.

A treatment process description of an ankle fracture patient in the surgical unit of Hyvinkää hospital The purpose of this thesis was to describe, from a surgical nurse’s perspective, the treatment process of an ankle fracture patient in the surgical unit of Hyvinkää hospital. The thesis included a survey carried out to clarify surgical nurses’ competence in different phases of treatment for ankle fracture patients in the surgical unit. The subject of the thesis proved to be relevant and necessary, as there was not any existing description of a treatment process concerning ankle fracture patients in the surgical unit of Hyvinkää hospital. In addition, they had not made a competence assessment for surgical nurses before. The purpose of the process description was to prepare self-study material for the staff and facilitate the orientation of new employees. The object of the survey was to complete the process description and identify some educational needs for surgical nurses. For the process description, I interviewed orthopaedic nurses in the surgical unit. The data for the survey was gathered using a structured questionnaire. The target group for the survey was the surgical nurses working in the surgical unit, 20 out of the 29 employees responded. The survey focuses on three different phases of the treatment process - the care of an ankle fracture patient before, during and after the operation. According to the results, surgical nurses managed the treatment process of an ankle fracture patient quite well. The survey highlighted some educational needs regarding the performance of a nurse during the operation; one of the chal-lenges turned out to be the terminology used during the operation - some nurses felt they did not know it well enough or at all. As to the results of the study and the process description, the staff in the surgical unit can exploit them in their daily work to develop their own competence. Process descriptions, including the competence assessments of nurses during other operations would be a good subject for a thesis for future nursing students interested in bringing into focus educational needs in an interesting and demanding nursing environment....
