The purpose of this thesis was to implement an employee orientation guide for Sensotrend Oy workers, relating how to use a digital diabetes journal integrated into the patient information system. In this context the objective is that the medical staff involved in the treatment of the patient knows how to construe and guide the patient in the use of the journal.   This thesis consists of a thesis report and an actual commissioned work that is the orientation guide. The data is collected using initial assessment and the report is based on up-to-date researched information of the care of a diabetic patient and a good orientation guide. It was necessary to find out in detail what a good orientation guide is made of and what kind of a guide the nursing staff will benefit from. An orientation guide was created as an actual development task, and with the help of the guide, Sensotrend Oy is able to orient the medical staff to a sufficient level in the use of the platform. The guide instructs medical team members who need a digital diary created by Sensotrend Oy in their work. The commissioner of the thesis had a pre-made patient version of the guide, now their need was to produce a professional version alongside it. The thesis was made as a development project and Sensotrend Oy is allowed to use the guidelines produced as a result of the thesis for the orientation of health care actors, or other required activities for professional use.  The orientation guide was completed in March 2021 and the reliability and informativity of the work was assessed separately at the diabetes clinic of the city of Tampere. Free-form feedback was gathered from the clinic workers and it was used as an evaluation method. Giving feedback was voluntary. As the platform is in the pilot phase there was little feedback, but the feedback was good and the guide was considered to be generally functional. Based on the feedback, the guide was able to fill the information gaps related to the use of the platform. The guide is attached to the report in its entirety....
