The purpose of this thesis was to develop a systematic evaluation model for the Department of Reception and Evaluation for Child Protection 0-12-year olds and put it into practice. The purpose of the model is to form an objective overall view of the life situation of the child and family and the need for support and services. The objective was that the systematic evaluation model would bring a consistent line to the conduct of the evaluation work, provide a working tool and enable quality evaluation work to assist the customer, for those who do the evaluation work, as well as the decision-makers. The thesis is a work commissioned by the City of Lohja, Ojamo Children's Reception and Evaluation Department, but the systematic evaluation model can also be utilized in other similar units. The thesis's knowledge base generally deals with; child protection, decision-making and quality, the BBIC and Multi-functional evaluation model, and evaluation work in general. The thesis has been implemented as an action study with a qualitative research extract. The systematic evaluation model is divided into three sections for assessing 0-3 to year-olds, 4-12 to year-olds, and parenting. Multidisciplinary cooperation has been described in its own part and in addition, an evaluation work checklist has been made to support the evaluation model. Individual work methods have been made with ready-made bases with instructions. The systematic evaluation model emphasizes that everyday routines, child primary care, and safeguard are the most important tasks of the Children's Reception and Evaluation Department. The model includes one individual time of work per week with both the child and the parents. According to the systematic evaluation model, each employee should take care of; the implementation, recording and prioritization of quality assessment work, as well as the reception of the child's crisis. Because work development should be continuous, in particular the practice of recording should be harmonised as well as modernisation of shift planning. Multidisciplinary cooperation should be increased, especially with family workers and family therapists. The expertise of an occupational therapist should be used in the future. A motivational and prodevelopment foreperson and also a receptive working community is needed to develop and pass through the new changes. It is important that work is prioritised so that evaluation work, (which also includes recording), is elevated to a high priority, alongside the care and security of the child.
