Erityisesti keskityn teoriassa varhaisiin kouluvuosiin.
Leikin avulla sosiaalisten taitojen harjoittaminen olisi luontevaa toimintaa lapsille. Hyvistä ryhmätyötaidoista on hyötyä lapsille heidän kasvaessaan aikuisiksi....

Toimintakeskeinen opinnäytetyö toteutettiin osana vuosille 2010–2013 sijoittuvaa Tutkivan teatterityön keskuksen Voimaa taiteesta –hanketta, jossa Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu on yhteistyökumppanina. Hankkeen tavoitteena on muun muassa tuoda luovia...
Searching for independence and dreams of the future - Drama in a group home for mentally disabled persons This functional thesis was carried out as a part of a project named Arts for Empowerment which has been going during the years 2010-2013. Arts for Empowerment is a project of the Centre for Practise as Research in Theatre and Laurea University of Applied Sciences is one of the partners in the project. One of the aims of the project is to bring creative work methods as a part of the work field of social and health care. The thesis took place in Ruusuhaka group home which is located in Rekola, Vantaa City. Ruusuhaka is a home for eight mentally disabled persons. The thesis was carried out between spring and autumn in the year 2012. The thesis included eight drama sessions which took place mainly once a week in the evenings from August to October in 2012. Usually there were 4-6 residents and one member of the staff of Ruusuhaka participating in every drama session. The first aim of the thesis was to support the residents of Ruusuhaka to process two themes using drama methods. The themes, becoming independent and dreams of the future were chosen by the residents during the visits and the conversations held in the spring 2012. The process was planned via these themes. The residents have moved to Ruusuhaka in the spring 2009. It is the first own home for every one of them so becoming independent and taking life into their own hands are still current topics in their lives. The drama practices were planned for each session after earlier sessions. By this the sessions were meant to be well suited to their purposes. The structure of the sessions was kept similar throughout the whole process which included for example a ritual for starting and ending of every session. The purpose was to accomplish a process which included as much participation as possible. This meant that the residents were given a possibility to affect in the course of the process and becoming heard as individuals. It was also essential to visualize their own dreams of the future and what becoming independent means to them. The second aim of the thesis was to increase our skills of working with mentally disabled people by using drama methods both in individual and group level. The accomplishment of the aims was evaluated by feedback from the residents and staff of Ruusuhaka. The feedback was collected with an evaluation form which the members of the staff filled after drama sessions and the residents gave their feedback orally. In addition, in the end of the process the staff and the residents were either interviewed or given a chance to response via e-mail. The authors of the thesis evaluated their own action after every session. Residents’ own hopes and needs were taken into consideration in action which was essential what comes to the first aim of the thesis. The observations of the process and results of the evaluation showed signs of accomplishing the first aim. Most of the residents felt that they had a chance to express themselves and their opinions in the drama process which itself supports achieving the aim. According to the residents the themes were visible in the process and they liked to participate in the process. The most challenging thing was to pay attention to the individual attributes of the residents which was emphasized because of strict schedule. We gained valuable knowledge about creating a drama process and seeing mentally disabled people as individual persons....

(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2012)
Koisoranta on moniammatillinen palvelukeskus, jonka palvelut on tarkoitettu...
Development process of a customer survey for the Arvi-community in Koisoranta service center The purpose of this thesis was to create a customer survey for the Koisonranta service center Arvi-community and this thesis is a report of that developing process. Koisonranta is an interprofessional service center for the homeless customers in Vantaa who have problems with intoxicant substances. Arvi-community is one of Koisonranta service centers units that offers a wide range of clarifying and evaluation in concerning the residents intoxicant abuse. It also clarifies other needs of support and paths to the living arrangements after the residents leave Arvi-community. Arvi-communities employees didn`t have a customer survey that they could have used to gather customer feedback and the idea and the need to develop such a tool came directly from their wishes. We also had a personal interest to the subject and we wanted to be a part of bringing the customers voice out loud in developing of Arvi’s work. This is a development process and as a development method we selected a project because our thesis had obvious elements of a project such as a clear goal and an ending. Our thesis also has elements and methods from process evaluation and qualitative research. We collected material by interviewing the residents of Arvi-community and by sending the employees e-mail enquiries. On the basis of the collected material we made a summary of what kind of questions the completed customer survey should include. Using the results of the interviews and e-mail enquiries we created the first version of the customer survey. After having it tested by the employees and residents of Arvi-community we finished the final version of the survey. The theory part of our thesis was selected on the basis of what phenomenons and working methods are used in Arvi-community. The customer survey we created will stay in the use of the Arvi-community and they will decide on what form and how they will be using it. We have made a one suggestion of how it can be processed and utilized but the choice on whether they use it or not will be for the employees to make. Also possible changes and updates that will perhaps be made to the survey will be the employees responsibility. With consistant use of the survey and utilizing the results the survey will give an opportunity to make Arvi-communities functions more and more customer orientated....

Neljävuotiaan lapsen itsesäätelyn kehityksen tukeminen liikuntaleikkien avulla päiväkodissa
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2012)
Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on selvittää, millainen käsitys päiväkodin työntekijöillä on neljävuotiaiden lasten itsesäätelytaitojen kehityksestä, miten neljävuotiaan lapsen itsesäätelytaitoja voidaan tukea päiväkodissa liikuntaleikkien avulla ja millainen on aikuisen rooli liikunta-kasvatuksessa. Teoreettinen viitekehys muodostuu itsesäätelytaitojen kehityksestä, varhaisesta tuesta, leikistä ja liikuntakasvatuksesta.
Opinnäytetyöni on laadullinen tutkielma, jonka aineistonkeruumenetelmänä on käytetty teemahaastattelua. Aineisto on analysoitu teemoittain.

The physical activity goals and how they are reached at private sport kindergartens in Kerava Today there is a lot of discussion about the decreased physical activity of children. Children do not get daily exercise as they should according to the national physical activity recommendations. The physical activity of children is very important because it has a huge effect on the comprehensive development of children. Parents and early childhood educators have a big role in getting children to take part in physical activity every day. It is also important that children become inspired of physical activity. Physical activity will form an essential part of life if people get positive experiences of it in early childhood. My thesis was carried out at kindergarten Kieppi and kindergarten Pomppu. Kieppi and Pomppu are private sport kindergartens in Kerava. Special attention in given to the kindergartens’ physical education goals which are presented in the early childhood education plan. The main research question of this thesis is to find out how physical education goals come true at Kieppi and Pomppu. The other questions are to find out how physical education affects children’s development, what kind of methods the workers use and how the workers would develop their physical education. The research environment is presented at the beginning of the theory part. Furthermore, the theoretical framework of the thesis is based on physical education and its goals, child-orientedness, children’s development and early childhood educator’s activity. Research methods used in this qualitative thesis are theme interview and observation. The interviews were made with workers of the kirdergartens and observations were made during physical activity sessions. These two research methods which was analysed in order to answer the research questions. Theory-driven content analysis was used in this thesis. When comparing the research results to kindergartens’ physical education goals, it seems that these goals were reached well. A monthly physical activity plan is followed at the kindergartens so it is easier to work according to the physical education goals. The results also show that varied physical activity has a clear effect on children’s development. The development seems to be comprehensive. In addition, the results show that early childhood educators have many ways to carry out physical education. They want to offer the children multifaceted and meaningful physical activity. The development proposals by the workers are the following: physical activity without planning, more exercising outdoors, the use of sport tools and to take part in educations....

More impetus! Promoting physical education in a collaborating kindergarten by practical means This practice-based dissertation concentrates on physical education as a part of early childhood education. The purpose is to improve physical education in the collaborating kindergarten and, with the aid of the material provided to the staff, to ensure its quality in the future. The impetus to this dissertation was the present alarming state of the physical exercise activities of children and young people. With the PC screen stealing time from outdoor activities and play time, there are now more children in a poor physical condition than ever before. The objective is to give customers of the kindergarten concerned, that is, the children, as versatile and positive a picture of physical exercise as possible and thus help them make it part of their daily life. The collaborating kindergarten was a small private kindergarten in Helsinki where I worked during the practical period of the dissertation. The dissertation is divided into two sections: 1) 10 physical exercise sessions targeted at children during the six-week practical period, and 2) material produced based on these sessions aimed at making it easier to carry out versatile physical education. All 18 of the kindergarten’s children aged from 2 to 5 years participated in the practical period. The contents of the sessions were varied and the basic idea was to make children discover the joy of physical exercise. The settings of the physical exercise sessions included the kindergarten’s hall, the playground, the forest park and the school gym. In the guided activities, the focus was on physical activity games and the aim was to also encourage children in their own mutual physical activity games in the spirit of traditional outdoor games. The material intended for the staff was produced according to their wishes, with the aim of making it as easy as possible to use in their daily work. The outcome includes physical activity game cards and a compact guide book, which contains information on physical exercise intended for early childhood education professionals and encourages educators to improve their own training skills....
