The subject of this thesis is a customer satisfaction study, which was conducted for AINOA shopping centre. The objective of this study was to chart customer satisfaction of AINOA’s existing customers, as well as to identify the needs of potential customers, and to investigate why these customers do not carry out their shopping in AINOA. The results of this study can be utilized in planning new services for the shopping centre's new extension. The results show which stores and services should be featured in the new extension in order to be able to continue meeting the needs of the current customers, as well as to attract new customers. The thesis assignment was provided by AINOA shopping centre in December 2015. The study was conducted during the spring of 2016. AINOA shopping centre lacked a study on customer satisfaction, so conducting this study was considered important. The mandator can utilize this study and its results in conducting similar studies in the future, as well as in planning of the mandator’s business activities. In order to receive as reliable, valid and accurate results as possible, different theoretical sources were applied in conducting of the study. The theories covered various research methods, customer satisfaction, and the competitive advantages of shopping centres. Literature and internet articles were utilized as the sources of these theories. The thesis was conducted as an empirical study utilizing qualitative and quantitative research methods. The quantitative part of the study was conducted as an internet survey and the qualitative part by two focus group interviews. A total of 449 respondents participated in the internet survey and the answers were analysed and reported. A total of 9 people participated in the focus group interviews, which were transcribed and analysed. The study is possible to be conducted again in the future. It can be concluded from the results that the customers are mostly satisfied with AINOA. However, the shopping centre and its service selection were experienced as narrow and one-sided. Additionally, customers were not fully satisfied with the car parking service of AINOA. Particularly, the pricing of the parking service was considered expensive. The results also indicate that AINOA does not communicate efficiently enough about its events and promotions to its customers. A lot of development proposals were collected in the study for the development of AINOA’s operations. The proposals were compiled in a summary and given to AINOA....

Provision salary and other incentives in manual work Salary and reward are both key components while attempting to forward the company strategy to employees. Correct salary models and reward systems are important tools for motivating and steering the employees and their efforts in the right direction. The wrong kind of salary system can cause a shortfall in efficiency of tens of percent, which makes it vital for companies and organizations to choose the correct methods for salary and reward. Even though different kinds of incentives are usually perceived as monetary ones, the non-monetary incentives are just as important. Work motivation and efficiency are greatly influenced by how employees feel their work is valued and non-monetary incentives can often deliver that message better than monetary compensation. The key points for reaching the employee are listening, noticing and giving credit. When it comes to different salary models, provision salary has been shown to be the best overall option in multiple studies. However, provision salary requires a clear and transparent basis for rewarding. It also requires a reliable and fair measurement so that employees feel equal to one another. This will reduce jealousy and resentment in the work environment. The study in this thesis was meant to find out if provision salary is a functional option in manual work that is easily measured. With the available resources this study concentrated on a specific unit of Helsingin kaupungin tekstinkäsittely and subjective opinions on provision salary model. The goal was to find out how employees feel about the effects of the provision salary model in terms of efficiency and job satisfaction specifically in this type of organization. The study suggests that there is room for improvement when it comes to incentives. The interviewees felt that even the smallest non-monetary incentives are rewarding. These incentives included positive feedback and acknowledgements from the employer and co-workers but currently there are too few of them. The study came to the conclusion that provision salary model is overall the best model for increasing job satisfaction and efficiency when asked from the interviewees. Provision highlights the meaning of hard work to employee and guides work place behavior to the right direction. However, it is also important to take humane factors into consideration while creating the salary model. The salary should not be solely dictated by measured performance....

Liiketoimintakulttuurierot ja markkina-alueen poliittis-taloudellinen tilanne yhteistyön haasteina toimitusprojektissa : suomalainen Cleantech-yritys Kazakstanissa
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2016)
Haastattelun tulokset on koottu yhteen selvitykseksi (liite 1).
Haastattelusta saadut tulokset mukailevat teemoihin liittyvää liiketaloudellista teoriaa.

The objective of the theory part in this thesis was to present the regulation of e-cigarettes and nicotine fluids in the new tobacco law 2016. The national and international background that affected the new law is also covered in the theory part as well as a brief representation of the history of tobacco politics in Finland. The objective of the functional part of this thesis is to show how the new tobacco law has affected the entrepreneurs in the field of e-cigarettes. Furthermore, the functional part aims to consider the situation in the field of e-cigarettes. The theory part was based on up-to-date national legislation as well as the preliminary works and documents that were used in the legislating process. Among the international sources used were the Tobacco Product Directive, the European Commission's decisions and a precedent of the European Court regarding the competency of the Directive. The database was used to support the analysis of the functional parts’ results. The functional part was implemented by doing an oral interview and a survey. The study sample was limited to entrepreneurs specialized in the field of e-cigarettes and had a shop in Finland. The survey was also sent to authorities. The point in this was to find out if they had enough information about the new tobacco law and the demands the law gives regarding entrepreneurs. The study showed that there’s been problems in the communication between different authorities as well as between the authorities and the entrepreneurs. The study showed also that the new tobacco law has affected and will affect (although decreasingly) the company’s revenue. This leads naturally to a decrease the personnel of the said companies. The survey sent to the authorities backed up the entrepreneur’s experiences as the answers were contradictory. An instructional pamphlet for current and future entrepreneurs in the field of e-cigarettes was made based on the results of the theory part and the functional part. All the permits and announcements required by the new tobacco law were included in the pamphlet as well as the contact information for the appropriate authorities. The objective of the pamphlet was to answer the need of entrepreneurs based on the results of the interview and survey. This thesis was focused solely on the regulation of e-cigarettes. Further studies could be made for example in relation to the other reforms in the new tobacco law or how the media has given information about the subject. There is also a need for national studies of the health effects of e-cigarettes. As a conclusion, the implementation of the new law did not go as planned, especially from the entrepreneurs point of view. There were also problems in communication between and with the authorities. No objective foundations were found for some of the national regulations....
