Patient’s pharmacotherapy education with PharmaTablet® application This thesis was assigned by Ciegus Digital Health and it is part of a larger project studying the functionality, profitability and usability of PharmaTablet® application with a tablet computer for health care professionals in their daily nursing care tasks. The primary aim of this project was to define the development and improvement of new technological innovations and applications for patient’s pharmacotherapy education focusing on PharmaTablet® application. The second aim was to create a base for the following studies of PharmaTablet® application and about its development, usefulness and usability. The third objective was to increase discussion about using new health care innovations as well as accelerating the transform to the technological era in the health care sector. The theoretical framework consists of the patient's pharmacotherapy education in theory, pharmacotherapy education in the current situation as well as pharmacotherapy education through using PharmaTablet® application. The empirical research was conducted with semi-structured electronic questionnaire survey, in which the authors asked the earlier users of PharmaTablet® application to evaluate their user experiences of the application. The survey focused on the investigation of the usefulness and new suggestions for improvement of the patient pharmacotherapy education by using PharmaTablet® application. The study showed PharmaTablet® application functioning in daily use, although still slightly stiffly. The previous test users experienced as the strengths the portability, user-friendly application, as well as the pictures of medicines. Future development areas or weaknesses are deficient drug database, offline-mode failure in act as well as the users’ distrust in the application. In the future, the users wish to identify drugs using their smartphone camera to search for information on medicinal products. The results of the thesis will increase discussion about health care applications in the expanded world of phone and tablet applications. As a side result, there are indications that even older workers are hoping smartphone technology to the public sector, although confidence in every application is not yet in perfect. The thesis resulted ideas for further studies from testing the prevention of drug deviation incidents to testing whether it is possible to increase the patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction by using PharmaTablet® application....

The concept of rewarding in sales jobs The purpose of this Bachelor`s thesis was to research the influence of and factors connected to rewarding systems in sales jobs. The aim of this thesis was to find out what kind of rewarding systems companies have in use, which factors influence motivation and rewarding of sales from the manager’s perspective. Theme interviews were used for the qualitative research, which were limited to the following themes of rewarding, the influence of rewarding in motivation, the connection of the work objectives to rewarding, the influence of rewarding in motivation, the influence of rewarding on achieving work objectives and personal influencing factors in rewarding. Five sales persons from different field of business participated in the research. The results indicated that rewarding systems and methods varied significantly. The most significant findings were the importance of the recognition of the motivation methods and objectives in the management process and the resulting benefits of a rewarding system. The objective of this functional thesis was to draft a human resource statement for the Ministry of Transport and Communications. As this is the first human resource statement for the organization in question, the aim was to create a functional basis for the possible future documents. In order to succeed in creating document, one of the goals was also to become extensively acquainted with the theoretical background on the topic. The theoretical part of the thesis consists of the content, structure and the making process of the human resource statement. The theoretical part was gathered with the help of literature, articles and some Internet sources. To support the thesis, other published human resource statements were explored. Drawing up the document required a profound examination of the operations, statistics and documents related to personnel of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The output of this thesis consists of reporting different statistics related to the personnel of Ministry of Transportation and Communications. The human resource statement includes data about employee structure, labor costs and income development, well-being at work and competence development. In the conversations with the contact persons it was revealed that personnel profit and loss statement and personnel balance were not found useful, so these parts were not included in the document. According to the assessment by the representative in the Ministry of Transportation and Communications the human resource statement can be used as a good framework for future reports concerning the personnel. Also the visual elements in the report, such as the icons of quick information, were found useful. Statistics and key information were collected directly from the existing documents in the Ministry. As the conclusion of this thesis it can be stated that the significant organizational changes in the Ministry affected the personnel in various areas. It also can be stated that human resource statement and human resource reports are often used as each other’s synonyms. This thesis demonstrated that it is useful to draft human resource reports and they can be used as tools in strategic leadership. Taloushallinnon ja toiminnanohjauksen kehitystarpeiden kartoittaminen pk-yritykselle

Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli selvittää toimeksiantajayrityksen taloushallinnon prosessien kehitystarpeita ja sitä, kannattaako prosesseja kehittyminen ja kustannussäästöt mielessä pitäen ulkoistaa tilitoimistolle. Toisena tavoitteena oli tehdä tarvekartoitusta uudesta toiminnanohjausjärjestelmästä sekä etsiä potentiaalisia järjestelmiä ja ulkopuolisia palveluntarjoajia. Opinnäytetyössä kohdeyrityksestä käytetään nimeä case-yritys. Työssä kartoitettiin case-yrityksen taloushallinnon sekä toiminnanohjauksen nykytilannetta nykytila-analyysin avulla ja tehtiin vertailutaulukoita eri palveluntarjoajien tarjouksista. Taulukoita käytettiin pohjana tarjouskilpailuprosessissa ja palveluntarjoajan valinnassa.
Työn tietoperustassa käsitellään ensin taloushallinnon prosesseja ja tietojärjestelmiä. Tämän jälkeen pureudutaan tiiviimmin toiminnanohjaus- ja taloushallintojärjestelmien kehittämiseen ja sen eri vaiheisiin. Lisäksi keskitytään toimintojen ulkoistamisen vaiheisiin, ulkoistamisen riskeihin ja nykytila-analyysin tekoon. Tietoperustassa on käytetty apuna internetistä löytyneitä artikkeleita ja alan kirjallisuutta.
Tutkimus on toteutettu toimintatutkimuksena. Tutkimuksen empiirinen osuus koostui haastattelusta, palavereista ja sähköpostilla tapahtuneesta viestinnästä. Organisaation työtapoja myös havainnoitiin tutkimalla työn ohjauksessa käytettyjen työvälineiden, kuten valkotaulujen ja post it -lappujen käyttöä. Opinnäytetyön tekijät olivat paljon läsnä case-yrityksessä tutkimuksen aikana ja he ikään kuin työskentelivät yritykselle. Tutkimuksen tuloksena syntyi case-yrityksen taloushallinnon nykytila-analyysi ja tarjousvertailut eri taloushallintopalveluiden tarjoajien tarjouksista. Lisäksi syntyi toiminnanohjauksen nykytilaselvityksen pohjalta tehty toiminnanohjauksen nykytilan esittelytiedosto, joka lähetettiin toiminnanohjausjärjestelmäpalveluntarjoajille etukäteen.
Tulokset olivat case-yritykselle hyödyllisiä, koska niiden perusteella yritys teki taloushallinnon ulkoistamispäätöksen ja tarjousvertailua apuna käyttäen myöskin tilitoimistovalinnan. Työn käytännön osuus päättyi case-yrityksen tilitoimistovalintaan. Työn jälkeen case-yritys siirtyi tilitoimiston kanssa käyttöönottovaiheeseen. Toiminnanohjausjärjestelmän osalta case-yritys päätti jatkaa projektia sitten, kun tilitoimistoyhteistyö on saatu kunnolla käyntiin....

Innovative sales and new client acquirement in an accounting agency ACC Orlando is an authorized accounting agency with three offices and 11 employees. ACC Orlando produces high quality services for their clients on their terms. The goal of this the-sis was to develop the actions of new client acquisition to be more efficient and organized. The work included both research and functionally parts. The research aimed to gather in-formation about the preferences of existing and potential clients concerning financial administration services, to explore how these clients experience the pricing of competing ac-counting firms, and, in addition, which factors would make them change their accounting firms. A new sales method was created in the experimental part. The new and previous methods were compared to each other in practice. The evaluated factors were cost- efficiency, sales efficiency and subjective easiness. The results showed that the hypothesis was not supported as none of the interviewed named the price of the service as a key factor in choosing accounting agency. Instead, being reliable, modern and having a consultative attitude were seen as very important satisfaction-wise. The thesis proved that when selling a solution, it is still possible to count on traditional methods: Creating trust and delivering great service are at the core of business....

The aim of the thesis was to create a concept to develop the culture of giving feedback in a pur-chase ledger team. The aim was limited to forming the concept, because the thesis does not in-clude a report about the development of the culture. The purchase ledger team is a part of the financial management department of the case company. The team consists of 13 members. The purpose of the developed concept was, among other things, to increase the amount of feedback given in the team, as well as, to teach the members of the team to give feedback. With the help of feedback, the individual and the whole team can be developed. Corrective feed-back can eliminate faults from the work and so enhance working. Positive feedback improves the common atmosphere and makes the working environment feel safe. A safe atmosphere brings out the best qualities of a person, which strengthens working. So, developing the culture of giving feedback strengthens the work of the purchase ledger team entirely. A literature review was carried out in which the feedback process is examined from different per-spectives. In support of the research, literature on developing businesses was also consulted. This facilitated the selection of the right approach for the research, as well as suitable research meth-ods. Online sources were also utilized, in addition to the author’s personal thoughts and knowledge. The approach taken in the thesis project was that of the case study. Qualitative research methods, such as a survey and brainstorming, were utilized to compose the final concept. Through the sur-vey the current status of the team feedback giving was investigated. The purpose of the brain-storming was to create ideas regarding the kinds of practices the members of the team would like to have in the culture of giving feedback. Based on the results of the survey, the amount of feedback and openness should be increased, feedback should become a part of daily life, phenomena that complicate feedback should be de-creased, and giving feedback should be practiced. It also became apparent in the inquiry, that rush and fear are factors that complicate feedback. Ideas from brainstorming included giving con-crete ideas on how feedback could be given. Some ideas, among others, were a feedback box, choosing the worker of a week, electronic feedback system and giving one piece of feedback a day. In my own ideas I emphasized concreteness and functionality. The final improvement idea was a concept, which develops the culture of giving feedback. The concept includes four concrete practices, which will be put to use in the purchase ledger team. The practices will, among other things, teach team members to give feedback, make feedback a part of daily life, increase the amount of feedback in the team, and try to increase the amount of encouraging feedback relative to the amount of correct feedback. The concept is found as a writ-ten work as an attachment to the thesis report....

With joy in barrier-free home – Case AsumisenApu impact investment This thesis was conducted for a company called Ilolla Unelmatehdas. It provides a home assistance services for elderly people, so that they can reside longer in their own homes. The purpose of the thesis is to collect information for Ilolla Unelmatehdas about the impact investing and social impact bonds, which would in turn financially benefit the city of Espoo. This investment would be achieved via a home service called AsumisenApu (Housing Assistance Service). In this thesis, the author aims to show how impact investment between the city of Espoo and Ilolla Unelmatehdas would help the city make savings in elderly care. The thesis includes factors that impact the life of the elderly so that they are able to reside longer in their own homes. It also examines what kind of benefits the city of Espoo would gain from impact investment with Ilolla Unelmatehdas's service, as a result of the elderly staying in their own homes. By providing solutions for some of the things that have an impact on elderly people, the Housing Assistance Service helps the elderly remain for a longer time in their homes. This service helps elderly people by making their homes more accessible. It postpones the need for the elderly to receive round the clock care, thus creating savings for the city of Espoo. The percentage of elderly people in Finland is rising and this creates pressure for public services to handle the expenses that arise from elderly care. In making this thesis, it showed that the impact investing in this housing assistance service could be one solution that helps the public sector decrease these expenses. The purpose of the study was to find out what kind of impact company's public image has on the human resources. Case companies of this thesis were the Finnish mining companies Terrafame Ltd. and Talvivaara Sotkamo Ltd. The thesis highlighted also the media's impact on companies’ public image. This research provided Terrafame Ltd. information on how the impact of public image is reflected on employees' attitudes towards the organization. The theory section of this thesis was based on literature about reputation, public image, media, human resources and communication. Furthermore, the theory section also included presentations of the target organizations, retrospect of the companies and analysis about the media and its impact on reputation. The research was carried out by semi-structured interviews which were held with five employees. There were also four interviews on Talvivaara Sotkamo Ltd. which were held earlier. The interviews showed that the employees' preconceptions were mostly positive. In addition to professional development the employees were motivated by the possibility to influence, a good work community, trust within the organization and being involved in the case organizations' development. One of the conclusions of this research was that a person’s professional interests were more important than the images created by the media. Secondly, the research results showed that with good leadership and internal communication the company has managed to support employees' engagement. And finally, the theory section of the thesis was supported by the results especially concerning employees' work motivation and commitment. As topics for further research it was suggested to carry out a quantitative survey for the whole staff of Terrafame Ltd. to obtain results from additional perspectives and from every department of the organization....
The purpose of the study was to find out what kind of impact company's public image has on the human resources. Case companies of this thesis were the Finnish mining companies Terrafame Ltd. and Talvivaara Sotkamo Ltd. The thesis highlighted also the media's impact on companies’ public image.
