The aim of this thesis was to explore the experiences and views on verbal communication and body language of an employee candidate for the recruiter’s point of view. The subject is timely and important due to the current job losses and because communication skills are even more significant if a person wants to succeed in a job interview. This study helps job seekers with their own communication and with their attention to specific communication features which develops their possibilities to succeed in future job interviews. In the theoretical part the whole recruitment process is looked at as well as the importance and location of a job interview in the recruitment process. After this there are the job interview phases and personal assessment methods for the assessment of the interview support. At the end there are introduced voice communications components both verbal and nonverbal. The study was a qualitative study and it was carried out as theme interviews. The interviews were conducted in August and September 2015. They were recorded, transcribed and after this the data was analyzed by qualitative methods. The results showed that the recruiters regard nonverbal communication more important than verbal communication. In addition this study revealed what issues are crucial for creating a good first impression. Based on the responses the video interview is not yet a generally well-established practice and its purpose is to eliminate a large amount of the people from the process. A video interview is still no substitute for face to face interaction. In particular the results that emerged showed that the Finnish recruiters were quite liberal and that they were tolerant of individual personalities and habits. A Finnish job interview is a situation where an applicant is expected to have a constructive and respectful attitude. During the first encounter it is very important to be well groomed. Clothing should be neat, clean and cover the person sufficiently. In Finland a suitable personality in a job interview means more than just appearance. Based on the results further research could be concerned with looking at how some kind of examination/test could detect the features commented on in this study. In addition it would be useful to get information on how the theme of this study would be viewed in other cultures. It would be also useful to find out more details in relation to the video interview and what its advantages and disadvantages are....

The purpose of this thesis project was to produce a guideline and instructions for employees to detect and prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. The completed guideline will be used as a support material and an informational source in daily operations to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. The guidelines also aim to develop a general view of the operations behind the preventing cases. With this guideline employees should be able to develop their understanding of daily processes when preventing money laundering or terrorist financing crimes. The informational structure of the thesis is an essential part of the guideline as the content is heavily supporting that information. The thesis examines the different laws, requirements and guidance and introduces concepts and terms which are related to anti-money laundering and terrorist financing prevention. Sources of information used in this thesis are annual reports and guidelines from the Finnish financial supervisory authority and the anti-money laundering unit from national bureau of investigation, in addition to the laws governing money laundering and terrorist financing. This thesis does not include any information which could be considered a trade secret or meant for the company’s internal use only. Anti-money-laundering and the prevention of terrorist financing is a constant effort of observations and investigations. These allow financial institutions to assure that their customers are not involved in such crimes. Customer due diligence is vital so different operators do not assist money laundering or criminal financing. Customer due diligence refers to the fact, that financial operators are well aware of their customer’s line of businesses. They understand what kind of transfer is normal in the branch activity’s payment traffic and what should be considered suspicious. The guidelines that were formed in this thesis project are to be used as a source of information in daily processes, so the structure needs to be as clear and simple as possible. The employee must be able to return to the guide easily whenever they find the need to. The information should be found effortlessly and swiftly. The thesis is formed from four different themes, which develop the content for the employee’s guidelines....

Digitalisaatio musiikkialalla - ansaintamallit tallennemyynnissä
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2015)
Tutkimus tehtiin laadullisena teemahaastatteluna.

Rewarding is a multidimensional concept, it covers the money that is payed for an employee in exchange for his/hers work, as well as the other financial and non-financial benefits. When done in the right way rewarding is a great tool for motivating and getting better, more efficient and cost-effective results. When done poorly rewarding can lower the cost-effectiveness of the com-pany as well as create wrong kind of competitiveness inside the company and lead to a bigger employee turnover. This thesis is based on the commission from Intersport Lohja, which is a part of Intersport Finland but has its own shop owner. The purpose of this thesis is to find out which forms of rewarding does the employees of small Intersport stores perceive as most motivating. In this case a small Intersport is one that has less than 15 employees. This thesis strives to give a compact package of information about rewarding, motivation and leading, and about the role of the last two in successful rewarding. The theory part of this thesis covers rewarding, its structure and principles and different rewarding systems. It also covers the impacts and different ways of rewarding. The theory goes through leading and the theory of motivation and how those two can be used to support rewarding to get better results. In the theory there is also an introduction of the case-company Intersport Lohja and information about the current ways of rewarding and the current employees. The study of this thesis is done as a quantitative research with a structured questionnaire. The inquiry was targeted to 12 different Intersport stores that filled the criteria and had less than 15 employees. The meaning of the inquiry was to find out which forms of rewarding do the employees of small Intersport stores find the most motivating. The collected data from the inquiry had to be easy to process and report. The results of the research showed that employees see intangible rewarding most motivating. Responsibility and acknowledgement are seen as the two most motivating forms of rewarding. Results from the survey combined with other research material made it possible for this thesis to succeed and to meet the expectations of the commission. The end result is a diverse but compact package of information about rewarding and motivation....
