Sähköbussimatkustajien matkustuskokemus Hyvinkään asuntomessujen yleisökuljetuksissa
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2014)
Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli selvittää sähköbussin käyttäjien kokemuksia. Tutkimus tehtiin osana Euroopan aluekehitysrahaston rahoittamaa CLEAR-17-hankketta. Tutkimuksessa olivat mukana Lahden Seudun Kehitys LADEC Oy, Hyvinkään kaupunki ja...
The aim of this thesis was to examine electric bus users’ experiences. The survey was part of the CLEAR-17-project funded by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund). Lahti Region Development LADEC, City of Hyvinkää and Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Hyvinkää participated in the survey. National ERA17 programme proposals were implemented in the CLEAR-17-project. These proposals suggest further innovations and highlight energy efficiency in public procurements. The survey conducted as a questionnaire a survey by interviewing passengers in an electric bus which was part of Hyvinkää Housing Fairs public transport. The survey examined passengers immediate travel experience with descriptive adjectives. One other important question was that if electric buses became more common would people use public transport more than now. Questions were on one double-sided A4 paper and the respondent filled in one half of it. The number of respondents was more than 350. The result of survey was that people were positive about an electric bus and even 28 % of re-spondents would use more public transport if electric buses became more common. The most positive things about the bus were silence and the absence of anything that could contaminate the environment. In the future cities could replace diesel buses for electric buses as part of local transport. It would increase the city's pleasant and environmental friendliness. This survey shows that people would like and appreciate it. It would also improve the city's image....

Urheiluliiketoiminnan haasteet – Vahva brändi taloudellisen menestyksen edellytyksenä
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2014)
Brändi, mielikuva, on yksi merkittävimmistä tekijöistä taloudellisesti menestyvän urheiluseuran rakentamisessa.

Strateginen henkilöstöjohtaminen-tutkinnon toimivuuden kartoitus
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2014)
Tämän opinnäytetyön aiheena on kartoittaa Management Institute Of Finland Oy:n tarjoaman Strateginen henkilöstöjohtaminen-tutkinnon toimivuutta. Kyseisestä organisaatiosta puhuttaessa jatkossa käytetään lyhennettä MIF. Opinnäytetyö on toteutettu MIF...
A study of Strategic human resource management-qualification This thesis is based on research which aimed to survey the functionality of the qualification 'Strategic Human Resource', which is organized by the Management Institute of Finland, hereafter referred to as MIF. The thesis was carried out as an assignment for MIF and its significance is emphasized in the fact that a previous study of the participants who had completed the qualification had not been conducted. The purpose of the study is to gain the respondents' perception of the contents of the qualification, its usability, its functionality in working life and the possible needs for development. The main research question is: What are the participant’s view of the functionality and potential needs of development of the Strategic Human Resource Management Qualification? This thesis will be supported by a theoretical framework, which is based on strategic human resources. The theoretical framework also consists of the qualification’s various themes and tasks such as implicit knowledge and the 360-evaluation. The study was conducted as a quantitative survey for experts and managers who have taken part in the Strategic Human Resource Management Qualification. With the help of the survey it clarified whether the qualification met the objectives, whether it was useful and if there were some potential development proposals. The survey was sent by MIF to 200 persons and only 34 responded. The results of the survey were analyzed using diagrams with reference to the theoretical framework. Potential development proposals were condensed into their own chapter. The response rate of the survey was 5,8 %. The survey respondents felt that the degree corresponded to the goals set reasonably well. That improvement which was required consisted of implicit knowledge within the qualification. Most of the respondents were not able to say whether they understood the importance of this implicit knowledge. With the open feedback, it became clear that respondents who had participated in this qualification would have preferred alternative principals from courses, redesigned the content and process of excellent activities to improve the qualification....

Success in sales work is a key factor for a profitable business. The selling of insurance policies requires product information about the sold insurances, good interaction skills and a thorough knowledge of the sales process. As a result of well-performed sales work the customer re-ceives an insurance package that meets his/her needs for insurances and the insurance agent earns a reward for the work done. The aim of this thesis was to identify the aspects of insurance sales that needed to be im-proved and to give recommendations on how to make insurance agents sales work in a more effective way. The theoretical section is divided into two main parts. The first part concerns insurance policy, personal insurances and the special features of insurance sales. The second part focuses on the sales process in general. A qualitative study was conducted during winter 2014 using an observational research method. The study data was collected by taking part in the client meetings of four different insurance agents. The study was performed in such a way that the researcher would affect to the sales situation as little as possible so that the presence of the researcher would not have an impact on the sales work. According to result of the observational research study the sales process of the insurance agent functions well for the most part and no significant deficiencies where identified. How-ever, in order to make improvements in the sales process a customer-specific needs assess-ment should be done together with the customer, instead of making assumptions based on former insurances. The clearest development area was in requesting that customer make re- commendations. Recommendations would enable the insurance agents to acquire more cus-tomers whose attitude towards insurance competitive tendering would already be favourable. In addition, customers received through recommendations would not incur booking costs. Final recommendation for improving sales efficiency is that the sales agents should increase the follow-up activity after a deal is made. By follow-up the insurance agent gives attention to the customer and gets an opportunity to make an extra sale....

Varainhoitopalveluiden edut ja haitat piensijoittajalle verrattuna suoriin osakesijoituksiin
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2014)
LähiTapiolan varainhoitovakuutuksen korkein päättymisikä on 110 vuotta. Varainhoitovakuutuksessa oleva kuolemanvaraturva takaa lähiomaiselle osuuden ilman perintöveroa aina 35 000 euroon asti...

Taloudellisen tutkimuksen uudistaminen : Finnish Golf Managers Association
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2014)
Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on FGMA:n (Finnish Golf Manager Association) eli Suomen Golfjohtajien henkilöyhdistyksen taloudellisen tutkimuksen uudistaminen. Tarkoituksena on kehittää 20 vuotta käytössä ollutta tutkimusmenetelmää vastaamaan nykypäivää...
The remodeling of the economic analysis The objective of this Thesis is to remodel FGMA´s (Finnish Golf Manager Association) economic analysis. The goal is to update the research method that has been used over 20 years. An economic analysis is made to collect information about golf clubs in Finland and it gives information for example about the costs of playing, rental incomes and the number of the events. After the economic analysis it is possible to compare results between golf clubs. Every golf club that fills in the economic analysis will get a summary of the collected material, limited by the competition law. A need for the remodeled economic analysis arised in 2010 when FGMA received only 40 answers. The main goal is to remodel the economic analysis so that it will give you more information about your own golf club and also about other golf clubs. Another goal is to ease and speed up the filling of the economic analysis. An important part of this goal was to permanently store the information that is same year after year, for example the number of the holes in the golf court and the area of the golf court. Becoming familiar with old economic analysis had an important role to make sure that the new version would be more advanced. All the way from the beginning, another important thing was to ease the practical work of the golf managers - filling up the economic analysis has before taken up to three hours. Nextime Solution´s Nexgolf operating system was chosen to be the data base of the economic analysis. Nexgolf operating system is used in 100 golf clubs, which includes about 80% of the golf courts in Finland. The remodeled economic analysis was brought into use in 2013. The biggest update was that the base of the economic analysis is now more about the financial statements. At the first time it was filled in by the financial statements of the year 2012. In 2014 there is going to be the next filling in, based on the financial statements of the year 2013. After that FGMA will start to work on the actual economic analysis based on the code numbers....

Uuden yrityksen rahoitusmahdollisuudet
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2014)
Jatkotutkimuksen haasteena on selvittää rahoituksen vaikuttavuutta entistä laajemmalla otannalla. Muita tutkimushaasteita ovat seuraavat: Kannattaisiko yrityskiihdyttämöihin sijoittaa entistä enemmän julkisten neuvontapalveluiden sijasta? Miten arvonlisäverovelvollisuuden alarajan korotus vaikuttaa aloittavien yritysten toimintaan? Millä perusteilla starttirahaa kannattaa yritykselle antaa?...

Basel II ja III -säännöstöjen vaikutukset pk-yritysten pankkirahoitukseen.
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2014)
Suomessa pankit ovat pk-yritysten tärkeimpiä ulkoisen rahoituksen lähteitä. Vakailla rahoi-tusmarkkinoilla on suuri merkitys pk-yrityksille. Pankkien sääntelyn keskeisen osan muodostavat oman pääoman vaatimukset, eli Basel II ja III –säännöstöt...
Banks are the most import source of finance for small – and medium-sized enterprises. Stable finance markets have a great importance for SMEs. The regulation of banks is mainly formed by capital adequacy rules, and the Basel II and III regulations. The subject of this thesis is the effects of Basel II and III on the bank financing of SMEs. The purpose of the thesis is determine the extent to which Basel II has affected the bank financing of Finnish SMEs, and the ways in which Basel III is likely affect the bank financing of Finnish SMEs. The starting point for this thesis report was interest in clarifying whether the doubts expressed 2006 regarding the effects of Basel II on the financing of SMEs were grounded. At the time it was predicted that Basel II might increase the spread between the interest rate margins of bank financing of SMEs and the number of covenants demanded by banks. During the thesis process the effects of Basel III were also considered; due to the current bearing these modifications in the regulations have on the banks. The theoretical section of the thesis consists of descriptions of Basel II and III together with theoretical information concerning the bank financing of SMEs. The theoretical section also reviews the state of the financing of SMEs in Finland during 2006-2013. Information regarding the effects of the Basel II and Basel III regulations on the bank financing of SMEs was gathered through semi-structured interviews. In the interviews questions focused on the price conditions an availability of bank financing. Interviewees were experts in financing. The results of the thesis show that the Basel II regulations affected the interest rate margins of the bank financing of SMEs. While proceeding from the previous broader Basel I to Basel II the price spread between SMEs became wider. More accurate measurement of risks as with the tightened demand for equity for banks, a number of SMEs was left without financing. Because of the net stable funding ration and liquidity coverage ration included in Basel III, banks may have to change their balance structure. This might affect the costs for banks and it is possible that banks might transfer these costs in pricing to their customers. In 2013 the state of financing of Finnish SMEs was nonetheless at the best level in the euro zone....

The objective of this thesis project was to determine whether music has an effect on creativity or not. Creativity is often defined as an ability to create something that is new, original, unexpected and practical. Usually it is felt to be connected to artist ability, but in reality it can be viewed as something used in everyday life. Innovation, in particular, is a quality that is emphasized in today’s organizational culture. Empirical studies have shown that listening to music can have a positive effect while performing creative tasks. Music might indeed help to release a person from a fixated mindset, and thereby enhance his or her creative performance. This thesis report first examines different views of creativity as put forward in various psychological theories. Then the concepts of mindset, cognitive fixation and its opposite, cognitive flexibility are discussed. Much research has shown that certain activities, such as taking a break during a creative task, can have a positive effect on releasing cognitive fixation. Since music has a major role in this research it is important to discuss how it affects individuals. Music has always been a feature of human life and its effects are truly interesting. As an example, a research study in the 1990’s showed that listening to Mozart momentarily had a positive effect on boosting cognitive skills. These main themes are linked to the corporate perspective throughout this thesis. In this thesis, the effect of music on creativity is measured using Guilford’s alternative uses task. Guilford was a pioneer of psychometric psychology who developed the concept of divergent thinking, which is considered to be a main component of creative thinking. Guilford’s alternative uses task specifically measures divergent thinking. The test results showed that there was no significant difference in creativity regardless of whether the test subject listened to music prior to the creativity task or not. This outcome was to some extent unexpected, considering the results of previous research. However, there was some statistically significant deviation which showed better performance for the test subjects that did not listen to music. These findings certainly indicate a need for further research. Earlier studies have showed that music can either enhance or deteriorate one’s cognitive performance. Sometimes it has even been the type of music that has had a certain effect. In any case, this thesis can provide a good basis for future research dealing with the relation between music and creativity....
