Kehityskeskustelukäytännön tehostaminen : case: Yritys X

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli perehtyä kehityskeskusteluihin henkilöstöjohtamisen työkaluna. Teoreettisessa viitekehyksessä on käytetty lähteinä kirjallisuutta johtamisesta, henkilöstöjohtamisesta, ikäjohtamisesta, viestinnästä, kehityskeskusteluista ja tutkimuksien tekemisestä sekä tuloksien analysoinnista.
Tutkimus tehtiin vakuutusalalla toimivalle Yritys X:n henkilöstölle aiheesta kehityskeskustelut. Lähtökohtana oli ajatus, että Yritys X:n työntekijät eivät ole täysin tyytyväisiä nykyiseen kehityskeskustelukäytäntöön ja käytäntö kaipaa uudistamista. Kyselyn tavoitteena oli saada palautetta nykyisen kehityskeskustelukäytännön toimivuudesta ja saada uusia ideoita käytännön tehostamiseksi. Kysely toteutettiin niin, että se sisälsi piirteitä kvalitatiivisesta ja kvantitatiivisesta tutkimusotteesta. Kyselyn otos oli yrityksen 15 assistenttia, joilta toivottiin saatavan nuorekkaita näkökulmia. Vastaajien anonymiteetin suojelemiseksi ja rehellisten vastauksien saamiseksi kysely toteutettiin nimettömästi Laurean E-lomakkeella.
Kyselyyn vastasi 87 % yrityksen assistenteista. Tuloksien perusteella nykyiseen kehityskeskustelukäytäntöön ollaan melko tyytyväisiä. Asteikolla yhdestä viiteen kehityskeskustelukäytäntö sai keskiarvoksi arvosanan 3,5 ja kehityskeskusteluissa käytettävä lomake keskiarvoksi arvosanan 3,6. Oppinäytetyön teoriaosuuteen perustuvista ja vastaajille esitetyistä kehitysehdotuksista urasuunnitelma arvosteltiin parhaimmaksi sen tuoman lisäarvon perusteella. Urasuunnitelma sai keskiarvona arvosanaksi 4,1. Tutkimustuloksissa ei noussut esille toistuvia tai merkittäviä ongelmakohtia kehityskeskustelukäytännössä.
Johtopäätöksenä voidaan kuitenkin todeta, että kehityskeskustelukäytännön tehostamiseksi yrityksen tulisi uudistaa käytössä olevaa lomaketta ja ottaa työntekijöitä yksilöllisemmin huomioon kehityskeskusteluissa....

The publication of FRC+-project : business development with enterprise accelerator services This thesis deals with business and enterprise accelerators, which support business actions. The client of the thesis was FRC+-project, which was carried out in 2011-2014 to develop and strengthen the roles and cooperation of the First Round Center business service network. The aim of this thesis was to compile a publication for the FRC+-project, which presents the steps of the project and the results achieved during the FRC+-project. Publication deals with the services developed in First Round Center, which are Ideagate, FRC enterprise accelerator, Product development and High technology. In this publication the author focused mainly on the FRC enterprise accelerator part. The data and materials for the FRC enterprise accelerator part were obtained from the database of FRC enterprise accelerator, interviews and by observing the actions of the enterprise accelerator. The other parts of the publication were ready-made, but the parts were edited and pieced together as a logical set. The publication was completed on schedule and it was handed out in the FRC+-projects closing ceremony on 21.5.2014. The purpose of the publication was to disseminate information about the project and it results for the stakeholders of the FRC+-project. The aim of this thesis was also to study business and enterprise accelerator services, which support bussiness actions. The main research questions were the challenges of startup- and growth orientated companies and how to respond to the challenges with enterprise accelerator actions. The theoretical part focused on subjects such as business, challenges of startupcompanies, business growth, expert services and enterprise accelerator services. The theoretical part studied the genereal challenges and opportunities in business and also the challenges and opportunities a startup-company mainly faces. The theoretical part concludes also on business growth and the factors which have and impact on growth. Also different services and expert services for business development were presented in the theory. The theory studies what kind of an impact do business supporting services have on companies. The study of the business supporting services mainly focuses on enterprise accelerators, because they are fully commited to long-term development and growth of businesses. To support the core points of the theory, a small e-mail survey was made for the enterprise accelerators, to research the views of enterprise accelerators about the challenges of startup-companies and about the services they offer for companies. The e-mail survey was sent to ten enterprise accelerators and the amount of answers was five. The answers were analyzed and pieced up together as a set, which presented the views of enterprise accelerators. This thesis offers useful information about business and the impacts and opportunities that an enterprise accelerator can offer to a company. This study shows how important a role companies have on our society and how important are the services that support business for our society’s well-being....

Managing and Motivating Generation Y at Work: a Case Study of Company The objective of this thesis project was to examine how the managers of Company X lead and motivate Generation Y in the work environment. The purpose of the research was to find development areas by comparing research results with the information gathered about managing and motivating Generation Y. It was crucial to offer development ideas so that the company could use them when improving leadership and motivation methods. The study was conducted using a qualitative research approach and the data was collected via a structural survey and group interview. A form interview was used as a preliminary study for the group interview and this was designed to provide preliminary information on the subject and produce ideas for the group interview. The group interview was conducted as a theme interview. In addition to the interviews, the study utilized Generation Y studies made earlier. The theoretical section of the report contains information about Generation Y and how workers of this generation typically behave in the workplace. Furthermore, it includes data about managing and motivating Generation Y. The results showed that managers consider the Generation Y to be hard-working representatives with goals and ambition. According to managers, when leading Generation Y, it is important to combine an easy-going and strict management style. With young people leadership seems to work better than management. The most essential motivators were continuous feedback and encouragement. The most relevant development targets when managing and motivating Generation Y, were age-management skills and listening to employees. Therefore, development ideas consisted of improving leadership skills by training, using different innovation methods and developing communication between employees and managers....

Different Forms of Employment and Their Costs in the Field of Accounting This Bachelor’s thesis examines staff costs the accounting firm field and different forms of employment. The primary purpose of the study was to clarify what points will have an effect in the choice of employment form in the accounting firms when they need additional work- force. The empirical part of this thesis is a questionnaire survey to the accounting firms of Keski-Uusimaa and on performing comparison of costs to the company by the different forms of employment. The theoretical section discusses the characteristics of the different forms of employment and shows to company which employs the rights, duties and responsibilities that are related to them. A recruiting process was also processed from the point of view of the employing company. The theoretical section is based on several different electric and written sources. In the first section of the study it was analyzed the cost factors of forms of employment and d their pecuniary numbers. In the comparison the number of the costs is dealt with by three different hour attributes. The purpose of the second section of study was to survey the images of accounting firms of the matters, which are related to the form of employment and found out the present situation of the form of employment in companies. The questionnaire was carefully planned and executed with e- form program. The inquiry was electrically sent to the accounting firms of Keski-Uusimaa. To facilitate the analysis of results was used graphic schemes which had been formed on the basis of the answers. The study was carried out with a quantitative method. This research method was chosen to get the clear numeral research information and to be compared from the research topic. Answers of the inquiry indicate that main form of employment in accounting firms is an employed worker. Also the rent workers and subcontracting are used a little in the field. The traditional method of employment is by far seen as the most used form of employment of the future, and is supposed that also the number of the rent workers will increase and the subcontracting will diminish. The need of the labor is usually caused by the amount of work which has increased. The reliability and the responsibility partly largest affected the future worker's choice. The amount and duration of the extra work were essential points which were taken into consideration when choosing a form of employment. In comparison three different hour attributes per month were compared. The employed worker will always become the most advantageous calculated in the mere monthly hours. If the costs of the recruiting also are taken into consideration, other forms of employment are alternatives worthy of attention....
