Aloittavan yrityksen talouden suunnittelu - Case Coaching House Finland Oy

The purpose of this thesis was to create calculations and tools for financial planning and control. The case company was Coaching House Finland Ltd, which was established in September 2012 and operates in the coaching industry. An income statement form, a rolling budget and a cash flow statement were created for the company. In addition, an earnings forecast and a balance sheet forecast for the end of the first financial year were made well as a tool for gross margin calculations to support the business planning. All calculations and tools were created using the Excel spreadsheet programme. The theoretical section of the thesis provides an overview of financial statements, such as the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement. The concept of the budget is examined in three parts. Firstly, the term budget is defined and explained. Secondly, the budgeting process and different budgeting methods are presented, and, thirdly rolling budgeting and forecasting are explained. Finally, the gross margin calculation is described. The case company is introduced through descriptions of the company and its industry, followed by a clarification of the company’s earnings and expenses. In addition, payments between Coaching House and collaboration company BoMentis were explained. The first item, examined from the calculations, was the form for the income statement, including its structure and how it was used. After this the thesis examines the cash flow statement. All the cash inflows and outflows and their timing in the first financial year were covered. Next the creation and structure of the rolling budget is covered. Following the budget, the building of the tool for gross margin calculations was explained. Finally, the production of the earnings forecast and balance sheet forecast were introduced. During the implementation phase, calculations and tools were presented to the CEO and the management of Coaching House. Based on the feedback from the company, some adjustments were made to the calculations. This way the results of the thesis are most useful for the case company. Toiminnanohjausjärjestelmän vaihtumisen vaikutukset toimintaprosesseihin - Case Yritys X

Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on selvittää, kuinka toiminnanohjausjärjestelmän vaihtuminen vaikuttaa Yritys X:n osto- ja tilaus-toimitusprosessiin sekä päivittää järjestelmässä oleva asiakasrekisteri. Työn tavoitteena on laatia parannusehdotukset yrityksen prosesseihin. Yritys X on tilannut työn ja sitä käytetään toukokuussa 2013 tehtävän ulkoisen auditoinnin pohjana. Opinnäytetyön tutkimusongelmana on, miten Yritys X:n tilaus-toimitusprosessi uudistetaan toiminnanohjausjärjestelmän vaihtumisen yhteydessä.
Työ on tutkimuksellinen kehittämistyö. Menetelmänä käytetään aktiivista osallistuvaa havainnointia. Tutkimusosuudessa havainnoidaan projektin ensimmäisessä vaiheessa mukana olevien yrityksen toimisto- ja logistiikkahenkilöstön toimintaa muutosprosessin aikana. Asiakasrekisterin päivitys on tehty yhteistyössä yrityksen myyntisihteereiden kanssa.
Tietoperustana tässä työssä on käytetty aiheeseen liittyvää kirjallisuutta ja sähköisiä lähteitä. Yritys X haluaa pysytellä anonyymina, joten yrityksen sisäisiä asiakirjoja ei ole työssä käytetty. Yrityksen prosessit on kuvattu sellaisena kuin ne toimivat käytännössä.
Tuloksena ovat ehdotukset prosessien parantamiseksi perustuen uuden toiminnanohjausjärjestelmän antamiin mahdollisuuksiin sekä projektin aikana henkilöstöltä esiin tulleisiin ehdotuksiin. Työn tuloksissa annettujen parannusehdotusten avulla saadaan yrityksen osto- ja tilaus-toimitusprosesseja siirrettyä entistä enemmän sähköiseen käsittelyyn ja vähennettyä paperisten dokumenttien määrää. Suosituksena on, että noin puolen vuoden päästä uuden toiminnanohjausjärjestelmän käyttöönotosta yrityksen prosessit käydään vaiheittain läpi ja toimintatapojen muutokset dokumentoidaan laatukäsikirjaan....

Job Satisfaction Survey for Company X The purpose of this thesis was to carry out a job satisfaction survey for Company X that operates in metal industry. The objective of this study was to find out the present state of job satisfaction of the staff and their opinions regarding the factors of job satisfaction with the help of various statements. At present, Company X has 25 workers and its subsidiary company has 4 workers. Some of the workers of the company are Bulgarian. The theoretical framework was based on three theories of the job satisfaction: the theories of Herzberg, Lawler and Wexley and Yukl. From these theories, ten factors were chosen that have the most impact on job satisfaction. With help of them a quantitative research was developed. A questionnaire which measures job satisfaction was used as the method of collecting the material of the study. The questionnaire contained in total 30 statements and one open question. The English version of the questionnaire was also made for the Bulgarian workers of the company. The inquiry was carried out in December 2012 and altogether 22 workers of the company answered it. 8 individuals identified themselves as office workers and the rest 14 of them as production workers. Analyses of the result of the study took place during December 2012 and January 2013. In the study the answers of the office workers and the production workers were analysed separately. After this the answers were compared to each other with the help of the figures and the averages of the answers. The results of the study showed that job satisfaction of the staff of the company was rather good and they reacted well to the factors which affect job satisfaction. From these factors they were the most satisfied with the company’s working atmosphere, leadership and feedback. According to the research results, rewarding and possibility to influence at work require improvement as they were the factors which the workers were most dissatisfied with. It also came forth that the employer image should be improved for the new job applicants. Dissatisfaction with the current salary came forth clearly from the open question. The conclusion was drawn that the methods which are used in the rewarding of workers should be improved and their possibility to have an influence on the job should be increased more. The company should improve its workers’ salary before the improvement of other rewarding methods. After this the workers would accept other possible rewarding methods better. The workers’ influence to their work should be encouraged by giving them more responsibility in different assignments. As a topic of further study it was proposed to look into how the company could make its employer image more inviting so it would be easier to recruit new and suitable workers to the company when a new factory is finished....

Property in care, custody or control terms construction in company’s liability insurance This thesis is meant to treat companies’ liability insurance term dealing with property in care, custody or control. Damages to property in care, custody or control are not usually covered by liability insurance. Companies can buy a liability insurance which covers damages to property in care, custody or control. I do not deal with this insurance which covers all damages in this thesis. I work in If P&C Insurance Company Ltd (If) as a companies’ liability claims handler. I found this subject to my thesis at my work place for everyday claims. My thesis begins with introduction of If. I tell the basics on the insurance company. After this introduction I look closely at Finnish law on damages. This law states when a person is liable to pay damages, the amount of damages and who is justified to get compensation for damage. Next unity deals with liability insurance. What is liability insurance? What does liability insurance cover? In the last section I tell more about the term relating to property in care, custody or control. I have familiarized myself with this subject with If and the Finnish Financial Ombudsman bureau. Property in care, custody or control is a very extensive concept. It covers all property which the insured works with or has in custody or insured controls. Customer-focused event in Motiva Ltd. The purpose of this thesis was to find out how satisfied the customers of Motiva Ltd. are with the company’s events, what are the most important reasons are for attending these events and how the events should be developed in the future. The clients of the company were sent a questionnaire and the results of the questionnaire were compared to the answers of the interview of the communications manager of Motiva Ltd. The purpose of this comparison was to find out whether the company’s view of the customers’ needs and hopes correlate with the answers of the questionnaire. The differences between the company’s images and customers’ wishes were aimed to be used in creating conceivable development ideas so that the events would become more customer-oriented. The aim of the questionnaire was to resolve which factors influenced customer satisfaction in the events and how the company can affect the attendance percentage and a comprehensive satisfaction. By improving the events Motiva Ltd. endeavours to tailor the events to become more comprehensive entities, but also to customers’ needs and improve the marketing tools to increase the satisfaction and the number of the participants. The questionnaire was conducted by using a quantitative research method and the interview by semi-structured research method. The questionnaire was sent to 3860 clients of Motiva Ltd. that had received an invitation to company’s events between 2011 and 2012. We received 394 answers which equals a 10.2 % response rate. In collecting and analyzing the answers we used the Webropol Analytics- program. The program allows converting the results of the questionnaire in to percentages and enables analyzing between different groups. It also enables to see which factors have affected certain answers and in which way in to each answers of the question....
