Online store marketing and web-analytics The purpose of this thesis is to study what is the most cost efficient way to get paying cus-tomers to online stores. Three different marketing methods are compared to each other. These methods are search engine optimization, search engine marketing and Facebook mar-keting. Theory and practice behind web-analytics is also described in chapter 6. The search engine Google and its significance to advertising is well presented in this thesis. The quantitative research material comes from bluebird.fi online store. The material has ‘been collected using the Google analytics program. The results are compared to the theory and known statistics. The research problem and theory are viewed side by side and the final results are presented in chapter 7. The results of this research tell that there are clear differences between the marketing meth-ods. Also the theory supports the obtained results. The final chapter presents some thoughts about the future of online store marketing....

The purpose of this thesis was to support a Finnish medium-sized company on its strategy update process. The thesis has been carried out during a six-month working period with the target company. My role in assisting the strategy update was collecting data for the strategy from different sources, preparation and drafting of analysis, strategy related interviews within the company and preparation of the strategy plan. Strategy work has grown and become one of the most important areas of responsibility in the work of a company’s management. Companies must be able to predict the changes in their operating environment and react to them with determination. The need for strategic planning and management increases during a poor economic situation which has affected Europe during the recent years. Companies must constantly check their own status and do necessary amendments to their business during economical fluctuations. In this thesis the target company revised its strategic decisions and updated them to meet the current challenges. Purpose of the thesis is to function as an evaluation tool for the target company on the strategy and to endeavor raising thoughts about the company’s current situation. This is a functional thesis which is divided into practical and theoretical sections. In the theoretical section the history of strategy, strategy models, concepts and different strategy process models are presented. The theoretical part is strongly bound to the theory that was used in the target company’s strategy update process. After the theoretical part follows the empirical section which describes the strategy update process in detail. This thesis charts and evaluates the conducted strategy plan based on different strategy theories. The thesis highlights which parts of the strategy plan were successful and which were not, or needed additional attention. The outcome of this thesis is the strategy plan which is classified as a trade secret and for that reason it is not attached to this thesis....

In a company´s financial administration and planning of finance the treatment of fixed assets could play an important role. The guidelines for handling fixed assets gives the accounting law, the business tax law and proper accounting policy. Following the proper accounting policy the Board of accounting plays an important role. Plans and entries of fixed assets are multidimensional operations. Requirements of the customer versus current legislation are only one aspect. While operating with fixed assets a contradiction with inspecting authority is possible, even that the function is made properly. The assignment for compiling the instructions of Aditro-Tikon Fixed Assets Software came from my employer, The CEO of Satakerta Oy, Kati Jalojärvi. Using the software correctly and efficiently is often found difficult in my working place. The courses of actions of personnel are not always efficient, and they do not always utilize all software features, especially as the software is updated and further developed constantly by the service provider. This thesis will give the reader instructions of for how it is possible to make entries of fixed assets, and how the use Aditro-Tikon Fixed Assets Software in s financial statement and monthly accounting. The thesis is processing the write-offs of small accountable. When reviewing of the content of this thesis was made, the conclusion were made, that to be able to use the Fixed Assets Software one must also have the knowledge of how to process fixed assets in accounting. This thesis presents the essential requirements of the law and terminology of different fixed assets. It is widely recognized that the role of accountants have changed and will further transform from a registrar of entries to an expert and advisor. In this process the handling of fixed assets is in a key role. Fixed Assets Software has also its own position in continuously expanding and soon indispensable shift to completely electronic financial administration....

Asiakaspalveluyksikön asiakastyytyväisyys Case: Valopaino Oy

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli selvittää asiakkaiden tyytyväisyyttä keväällä 2012 Valopainossa perustettuun asiakaspalveluyksikköön. Tutkimuksen avulla haluttiin löytää myös hyviä kehitysideoita, joita voitaisiin tulevaisuudessa konkreettisesti toteuttaa. Asiakastyytyväisyystuloksia voidaan hyödyntää yrityksen markkinoinnissa ja yritysimagon vahvistamisessa.
Opinnäytetyöni toimeksiantaja oli Valopaino Oy, joka on noin 40 hengen tulostus- ja painoalan yritys. Olen itse töissä yrityksen asiakaspalveluyksikössä. Kilpaillulla painoalalla muista erilaistuminen on tärkeää. Valopainon kilpailuetuina voidaan pitää hyvää palvelun laatua sekä nopeita toimitusaikoja. Tutkimuksessa haluttiin selvittää, kuinka tärkeitä nämä tekijät ovat asiakkaille ja miten he kokevat yrityksen näissä onnistuneen. Asiakaslähtöisyys on menestyvän yrityksen lähtökohta ja kilpailussa mukana pysyminen edellyttää jatkuvaa kehitystyötä. Myös ekologisuus on asiakkaille tärkeää ja tämä onkin huomioitu Valopainon toiminnassa.
Teoriaosuudessa keskitytään palveluihin ja asiakastyytyväisyyteen. Palveluilla tarkoitetaan aineettomista toiminnoista muodostuvaa kertaluontoista prosessia, joka lähtee asiakkaan tarpeista ja johon asiakas myös itse osallistuu. Asiakaspalvelu on toimintaa asiakkaan hyväksi palvelu-prosessin aikana. Asiakastyytyväisyys kertoo, miten yritys on vastannut asiakkaiden odotuksiin. Palvelu, asiakaspalvelu ja palvelun laatu ovat kaikki suorassa yhteydessä asiakkaiden tyytyväisyyteen ja toimivat hyvänä mittarina myös yrityksen menestykselle.
Tutkimus toteutettiin Suomen Aktiivitieto Oy:n kautta sähköisesti. Tutkimukseen osallistujat poimittiin Valopainon asiakastietojärjestelmästä. Osallistumiskutsu lähetettiin vain niille henkilöille, jotka olivat asioineet Valopainon kanssa kevään 2012 organisaatiomuutoksen jälkeen. Valopainon asiakaspalveluyksikkö toimii asiakkaiden ja tuotannon rajapinnassa ja on näin ollen oleellinen osa koko palvelukokonaisuutta. Tutkimustulokset osoittavat, että Valopainon asiakkaat ovat erittäin tyytyväisiä asiakaspalvelun laatuun. Palvelun nopeutta pidettiin erittäin tärkeänä tilauspäätöstä tehtäessä. Valopainon asiakaspalvelun koettiin nopeutuneen ja parantuneen jonkin verran asiakaspalveluyksikön käyttöönoton jälkeen. Opinnäytetyön pohjalta syntyi kehitysideoita erilaisista palautejärjestelmistä, viestinnästä ja suosittelumarkkinoinnista. Näistä ideoista ainakin palautelomake otetaan välittömästi käyttöön....

The Development and Introduction of Innovations in Education and School Services, case: Innovationdays The purpose of this thesis was to organize education days for faculty of primary schools in Länsi-Uusimaa area. The theme of the education days was development and introduction of innovations. The main objective was to help primary schools improve their innovation work, give tools to im-prove it, encourage creation of new innovations and contemplate what things they want to change or do better. This was a functional thesis, so the emphasis was on planning and implementation of education days. The theoretical context of this thesis was divided into two main topics: event organization and development and introduction of innovations. Two education days were arranged. Persons who had participated to the research of innovation management in public sector in the spring of 2012 and randomly selected faculty of primary schools from Länsi-Uusimaa were invited to the education days. 54 persons were invited. Twelve persons participated in the first education day. Four persons had participated in the re-search of innovation management in public sector. The main results of innovation management research were dealt with during the education day. In the first education day participants heard two information packages about the subjects: “Creating and sustenance of innovations” and “From idea to innovation - from innovation to results”. Workshop “Learning café” was carried out during the event and the topics were the problems of the school world and their solutions with the help of new innovations. The participants chose the subjects in the learning café themselves. At the end of the Event the participants filled in the feedback form. With the help of feedback the realization of set objectives was estimated. The participants were given homework, the objective of which was to bring into use new innovations at schools and to estimate their usefulness. Six persons participated in the second education day. Five persons had also participated in the first education day. The Manager of Development was called for the second education day to perform the lecture on the operation and education of the Laurea University of Applied Sciences and to discuss of the necessity of education days and from the possible supply of education days in the future. The feedback of the first day was processed and the homework was checked and the innovations that were taken into use and their usefulness of the schoolwork were discussed. The feedback of both education days was positive. All the participants were ready to recommend similar education to their colleagues and they thought that Laurea Lohja could offer this kind of education to the teaching staff of primary schools also in the future....

In February 2013 an appeal submitted by J. Vainion Liikenne and Oy Pohjolan Liikenne Ab was rejected by the administrative court of Turku. The submitted appeal was a complaint against the granting of the transport license that allowed Rindell Oy to operate on the Raisio-Turku-Helsinki route. Rindell Oy collaborates with Onnibus Oy on the particular route. The purpose of this Bachelor’s thesis was to produce a report for Onnibus Oy about whether it causes continual and severe harm against J. Vainion Liikenne and Oy Pohjolan Liikenne Ab, as it operates on the Raisio-Turku-Helsinki route. Inducing continual and severe harm against transitional period operators, which J. Vainion Liikenne and Oy Pohjolan Liikenne are, is for-bidden. The completed report could be utilized if J. Vainion Liikenne and Oy Pohjolan Liikenne Ab decide to make a new appeal that would be tried in supreme administrative court. One of the key arguments the transitional period operators would use in the court hearing is the alleged inducement of continual and severe harm against them by Onnibus Oy. The purpose of the first part of this thesis was to clarify what is meant by causing continual and severe harm. The framework for this is largely based on both national and EU legislation. In addition to this some material produced by the Ministry of Transport and Communication contributed to this matter. To establish whether or not Onnibus Oy causes continual and severe harm against transitional period operators a survey that was targeted at passengers was conducted on the Raisio-Turku-Helsinki route. In addition, comparative information was gathered from two other routes, which were the Tampere-Pori and Tampere-Helsinki routes. This survey was carried out by distributing 1000 questionnaires to passengers, of which 536 were returned. The aim was to examine passenger loads on stops and respondents’ travel chains. In the light of the findings the conclusion of this thesis is that Onnibus Oy does not seem to induce continual and severe harm against transitional period operators. However, if the operators decide to file an appeal to the supreme administrative court, both sides should provide calculations of their passenger traffic yields. This is to ensure a thorough hearing process. Furthermore, transitional period operators should also be obliged to provide calculations of their freight service yields since this constitutes a significant portion of all revenues on a particular route. Freight service yield plays a crucial role when assessing whether continual and severe harm is induced, as it is not in Onnibus Oy’s range of services. Therefore the impact of Onnibus Oy’s operating is confined within the transition period operator’s passenger yields....
