The research showed that some matters, such as professional skills and clarity of the price, are more important than others, for example cheerfulness of customer servants. Thus the research showed what kind of matters need to be paid more attention to in service situations. According to the results, it appeared that the customer and customer’s situation need to be assessed accurately to give as good a customer experience as possible. Developing the well-being services of the case company The purpose of this Thesis is to survey the potential of a gym company to develop itself as a provider of well-being services. Furthermore, the aim is to explore the level of customer satisfaction and the quality of service as well as to find out how the level of service could be improved. The gym company has not carried out similar kind of development survey about its well-being services before. The task was implemented based on the wishes of the owners of the gym company. A theme interview was carried out to the current customers of the gym. The purpose of this interview was to get an idea of the customers’ perception of the current service concept and the necessity of possible additional services. The theme interview was executed by using the structured research method. Information was collected with random interviews as well as on paper form. It was possible also to fill in the interview form anonymously in the gym company’s premises. In addition to an examination related to physical education, it is typical for a gym company owner to possess also some other degree supporting their area of business such as degree in business administration or degree on social and health care. There are often employees working at the gym under their own name which better enables the business to offer its customers a more versatile service concept. People today are interested in weight control groups, to change their way of life towards to healthier lifestyle and they want to increase health conscious content in their lives. A Private gym company owner has to be constantly up to date when it comes to maintaining and improving their business’ level of service. Small sized gyms, which are private and not linked to any gym company chains, have better possibilities and authority to develop and improve their business to the desired direction. This is enabled because the entrepreneur him/herself is setting up the boundaries to their company and is not directed by any parent company. The thesis is made functional because the research results will be used as part of the development process of gym services....

The purpose of this thesis project is to study the theory and practice of the launch of a new product. The thesis was commissioned by a Danish company which operates in the food sector. This company, which wanted to remain anonymous and is thus referred to as Company X in the report, has bakeries and sales offices in 18 countries around the world. The thesis report also explores the relative strengths of the products launched by the competitors of Company X. The thesis report begins with a review of the knowledge base concerning product development and the product launch. The report discusses such questions as how a product can be launched successfully when the competition is strong; what is needed from company to launch the new product on market; and how product development is connected to the launch of a new product. The thesis report examines the product launch in the context of the bakery sector. The empirical research utilized such methods as benchmarking and the SWOTanalysis. Using these tools the author attempted to consider ways to develop Company X’s product launch projects. Following an analysis of the data several suggestions for development are presented. Three critical areas were identified during analysis, which included the product catalog, branding and the product range. Through a consideration of these three critical areas it was possible to generate three development proposals for Company X. These proposals concerned the need to improve the launch process and reduce the number of failed product launches....

Instructions of bankruptcy process for district secretaries Bankruptcy procedure is a legal procedure, the purpose of which is to liquidate the remaining assets distributed among the creditors. A bankruptcy case is initiated by bringing a written application made by the debtor or creditor to the district court. At the beginning of the bankruptcy the property of the debtor is transferred to the control of creditors, as a result of which the debtor loses the right to dispose of the property. At Espoo District Court bankruptcy cases are handled by an insolvency team of the civil de-partment. An insolvency team currently consists of seven work partners formed by district court judge and district secretary, along with one secretary responsible for debt settlements. Bankruptcy is a multi-step process and all matters related to that must be dealt with promptly by the court. Secretaries who are handling bankruptcy cases must be able to carry out the required actions without delay from public notices to different kind of registry entries. Espoo district court has lacked a comprehensive instruction for bankruptcy, which in turn has made it difficult for the orientation of new secretaries to the cases in question. My thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part the bankruptcy procedure is expressly presented from the court’s point of view, and its purpose is also to highlight possible special situations that might come up during the process. The practical part includes detailed instructions for district secretaries where actions required from district secretaries are dealt in logical order and step by step. The main source of my thesis has been the bankruptcy law itself and the law from the bankruptcy literature drawn up on the basis of the actual literature. I have also relied on the know-how and accumulated experience of people who have worked within bankruptcy cases for a long period of time....

Fluency of the transportation of medicines in company X In Finland, medicines to pharmacies and hospitals are run by pharmaceutical wholesalers and the Pharmaceutical wholesale business is legally regulated. This guarantees that medicines are safe to use. For pharmaceutical wholesale firms it is important to be able to deliver the medicines quickly to the customers. Consequently, within this context the role of the transport company is very important. Risks in transportations are for example that parcels disappear, damage occurs or the delivery is delayed. All these things affect the safety aspect of the transportation of medicine. The purpose of this thesis has been to examine the effectiveness and quality of the current situation. At the moment the education for the drivers of the transport company has been arranged and the purpose of this thesis is to find out how adequate it is. Additionally, the purpose of this thesis is also to investigate what kind of requirements the law requires for wholesale operations and also for the transportations of medicines. One objective of this work has been also to highlight what needs to be taken into account when considering transport operations connected to medicines. The theoretical part deals with qualitative research theory. Opinions about the current situation were obtained from drivers who had been involved with medicine transportation and were gathered by use of a survey. The research respondents were transport company drivers, who had been carrying medicines. The survey was carried out with a paper survey and based on specific responses. Creating an induction training plan for Insurance Company X The objective of this thesis is to create an induction training plan for Insurance Company X as support for new permanent employees. Previously a new employee’s supervisor has used a simple checklist. In contrast, the idea now is to create a plan for the induction training since the demands for the contents and form have changed. The main goal is to start the implementation of the plan as soon as a new permanent employee is recruited. I have also personally been involved in implementing and improving this new induction training plan. In the theoretical framework this subject is first observed from the point of view of recruiting and its link to training, and how a new employee’s orientation could be taken into account already in the recruiting stage. The main part of the thesis deals with employee’s induction training, from planning to implementation and development. The topic is also approached from a legal perspective. Some statutes will be shown regarding safety at work and how a young person’s induction training should be arranged. Demands that have surfaced with the new induction training plan have for example been the electronic documentation and the straightforward style of the plan’s legibility and layout. The shared responsibility of the different stages and a convenient schedule are also considered. The induction training plan has been designed using a corresponding department’s plans as a model. Both colleagues’ and manager’s opinions and expectations in addition to my own views as a trainee have also been utilized as source material. Following the implementation of the plan the assessment stage has been carried out as a small-scale interview for the people participating in the induction training. The induction training plan will be developed using the results of this interview. The results show that the main goals and demands have been achieved. The plan has been useful in the orientation process, making it possible to succeed even in exceptional circumstances. It includes specific progress stages and links to material which can be used in the induction training, arranged by topic. The interview’s results show that electronic induction training courses could be separately organized within the main plan and in general the plan could be used to a greater extent. Implementing the induction training plan has been a success. The training of the new employee has been more effective and the progress tracker has confirmed that all subjects have been covered. The plan can be further utilized in the planning summer trainee programmes. The goal is that the orientation plan remains a part of employee induction training in the future....
