Asiakirjajulkisuus käräjäoikeudessa
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2011)
Opinnäytetyömme käsittelee asiakirjajulkisuutta käräjäoikeuksissa, joissa käsitellään ja tuotetaan paljon erilaisia asiakirjoja, joista osa on hyvinkin arkaluonteisia. Näistä asiakirjoista käräjäoikeuksien on myös informoitava eri tahoja...
The publicity of district court documents Our thesis handles the publicity of district court documents. The district court handles and produces different kinds of documents some of which are highly delicate. The district court gives infor-mation on these documents to different parties. The civil servants have to know exactly what information and to whom they can or they have to give out and which documents are confidential. The district court has to notify the defendant, the plaintiff, the complainant and the public prosecutor about the phases of the court case. The personnel of the district court also have to give information to witnesses, to parties to be heard, the police, the press and otherwise interested people. All information is not public and cannot be given out to whomever. The personnel have to consider when the information can and should be given out. We both work in Tuusula district court. The subject matter is important to us because to our knowledge there is no actual comprehensive and clear guideline on the publicity of documents in Tuusula district court. The information is scattered, splintered detail information or it is difficult to find. This does not serve the personnel which have to deal with it daily. Not to mention that if the information is given out to the wrong person at the wrong time it can jeopardize the legal protections of the parties involved in the legal case. Also the civil servant may have violated the rules on the publicity of documents. Therefore our purpose was to produce a clear and simple guideline where you can find the key issues about the matter. In other words the information you can give out on the district court documents, to whom and when. Our thesis proceeds through defining the concepts to the documents of the district court. We also carried out an inquiry to the personnel of Tuusula district court which we are handling after the theory part. We analyse the inquiry results in the same context. The outcome of our thesis is a clear and simple guideline on the publicity of district court documents the purpose of which is to ease the work of the district court personnel....

The Financial Reporting of an Association Case: The Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission This Bachelor’s thesis describes the financial reporting of associations in general, as well as how the financial reporting is executed in one specific case association. The case association is The Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission and the thesis is based on an assignment that came from a representative of this association. The assignment was to study the present state of the association’s financial reporting and compare it to the current theories. The main focus is kept on the reporting that is targeted for the most important interest groups that are named to be the personnel, management group, board, congregations and the general public. Based on these things the goal of the research was to find out what the present state of The Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission’s financial reporting is in general and from the perspective of the most important interest groups. The theory section discusses the association’s activities, external and internal accounting and financial reporting based on literature as well as, for example, on the accounting law and the association law. The theory section creates rather a whole picture of the association’s finance and the reporting associated with it. It functions as a base for the empirical part which was accomplished as a qualitative research. The research was chosen to be conducted by interviews and the present state of the financial reporting is described based on the answers obtained from the interviews. The perspectives and opinions of the interest groups come from the general feedback and the knowledge that is found inside the association. The results of the interviews showed that both external and internal reporting are executed rather well in this association. A few problems were revealed but the main thing is that the external accounting seems to follow all the laws and regulations as it should and the internal accounting produces all the information needed for the personnel and the management. The problems that rose from the study are the congregation’s reports of their support and how the use of certain allowances is reported in the association. Both the problems are very concrete and easily interfered and therefore possible to solve and fix. There are also every now and then some problems because of the fact that the personnel are not overly interested in the association’s finance. It would be very important to get the personnel interested in the association’s finance so that everybody would understand their own responsibilities and the consequences of their acts....

Asiakaslähtöinen tuoteryhmähallintaprosessi kilpailukyvyn parantamiseksi
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2011)
Opinnäytetyössäni perehdyn yrityksen tuoteryhmähallintaprosessiin ja sen tehostamiseen erikoistavarakaupassa. Kilpailu kovenee erikoistavarakaupan alalla koko ajan. Menestyminen markkinoilla yritykseltä täytyy pystyä vastaamaan paremmin asiakkaiden tarpeisiin. Asiakkaat ovat entistä aktiivisemmin alkaneet toivoa entistä yksilöllisempää tuotevalikoimaa, mutta yritykset toimivat helposti turvallisuushakuisesti tuotevalikoimansa suhteen. Kuitenkin tuote on markkinoiden lähtökohtana erikoistavakaupassa.
Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin yhteistyöyrityksen nykyisen asiakaskunnan kiinnostusta yrityksen tuoteryhmiin. Tutkimus perustui asiakaskyselyyn ja yrityksen sisäisten myyntilukujen analyysiin. Tutkimustulosten analyysin avulla saatiin kuva yrityksen tämänhetkisestä tuotevalikoiman tilasta.

Implementation of E-education in Laurea University of Applied Sciences’ Finance course The purpose of this thesis was to examine the grounds for implementing E-education in Laurea University of Applied Sciences’ Finance course. In addition, the objective was to develop the Finance course’s contents to meet the future needs of implementing an E-education in the course. In the context of this thesis, E-education is referred to as education which is implemented solely via the Internet. Due to the constraints related to utilisation of information and communications technology in E-education, it is not suitable to implement traditional teaching via the Internet. Consequently, the teacher’s role is seen as an instructor during E-education. The role of the instructor includes planning and implementation of E-education as well as assisting and supporting the students who participate in E-education courses. The learning environment in E-education differentiates from the traditional learning environment. From the students’ perspective, E-education consists primarily of self-studying and self-learning. For this reason, their ability to reach the learning objectives during E-education is heavily dependent on the students’ capacity to act in a self-regulated way. Based on these observations, the developmental work of the thesis consisted of promoting the students’ ability to act in a self-regulated way by improving the guidance offered during the Finance course. The usefulness of the developmental work was measured by performing a survey for the students. In addition, its suitability in implementing E-education was evaluated by using the theory basis that was elaborated during the thesis. Based on the results of the survey and analysis, the development work improved the guidance and students’ self-regulation during the Finance course. The survey also indicated that the amount of guidance offered in Laurea should be enhanced. The results and experiences obtained from the thesis can be utilised in the implementation of E-education in future Finance courses. Laurea can also benefit from the results when assessing the necessity to enhance the guidance offered for its students....

Service procedures of documents in domestic and internationally In this thesis service procedures of documents, which are used in domestic and international connection, are considered. As the most important research subject, the development line of the service, and its sense in the district court, is presented. Furthermore, different service procedures used in connection with subpoena and summons are explored in detail. In legal proceeding summons, subpoena and other juridical documents informing the parties or other people involved are called service. Servicing plays a significant role in the legal protection of the proper, not to mention effective use of small resources. The thesis is partially based on international legal assistance, of which only servicing between the Nordic and EU countries is focused on. The aim is to create a clear picture of the current state of international service and to provide a general understanding of matters that should be taken into account during declaration processes in situations, in which the party lives, in one of the EU countries or in Scandinavia. As the main source of law I have used code of Judicial Procedure (OK 1.1.1734/4), the Governmental Bill (HE 123/2009) as well as agreements on international service of notice. Company valuation - Case Company Ltd The purpose of this thesis was to examine the value of a specific company. The study was made for a small company in Helsinki, which specializes in crafts and models. The company's name is not mentioned in the thesis at the owners' request. The research problem was to find out how a company's value can be measured and the best methods of valuation with regard to the case company. The company is expected to be sold in the near future as the owners retire, and this is the main reason why a valuation was made. The company’s value was calculated well in advance so that the value could be influenced in the years preceding the sale. The study was conducted using qualitative research methods, where data was obtained from professional literature, reliable internet sources, and from the company's official financial statements from the years 2006-2010. In addition, the company’s owners were interviewed on two occasions. The interviews were the basis for the analysis concerning the company's past success and future changes. In order to assess the company’s value the cost of capital must be determined first. The cost of debt was calculated from the average interest payments made on the company’s long-term debts. Next the cost of equity was determined using the Capital Asset Pricing model and fi-nally the company’s cost of capital using the Weighted Average Cost of Capital model. The calculations show that the company’s cost of debt was 5 %, the cost of equity was 12.13 % and the cost of capital was 7.88 %. Finally the company's value was calculated using three different valuation models. The Free Cash Flow model and the Value-added model are based on the future rate of return. The company's net asset value was used as a comparison value. The results revealed the com-pany's minimum value, i.e. the net asset value is 206 950 euro, and a value of 504 561 euro as a result of the free cash flow model and 629 114 euro as a result of the value-added model. The value of the company seems to be approximately 570 000 euro. Although, theoretically, the company's price can be calculated, the correct price is ultimately the price which both the seller and the buyer can agree on....
