Work instruction for the office staff - Helsinki Court Of Appeal I carried out my legal internship regarding my BBA legal expertise degree in the Helsinki Court of Appeal. The internship consisted mostly of correspondence and other communication between the Helsinki Court of Appeal and its interest groups. This thesis has two parts and its purpose is primarily to make it easier for new office staff to learn during their work and to digest their work duties. In the first part we get to know the Finnish justice system and especially how the Court of Appeals work. In this part the approach is more theoretical. In the second part we take a closer look at what the work of the office staff consists of. The source material of this thesis consists mostly of procedural law and to a lesser extent of procedural literature. In the second part I have tried to use tables to make it easier to understand. In addition there is a short vocabulary of the most important words to a beginner at the end of the thesis. Attached are also some templates and other necessary documents....

The successfulness of marketing and measuring it in the fields of real estate and construction A company’s marketing activities are an investment which should be expected to yield results. Results must have clear objectives and a company should create indicators for measuring the results. When a company monitors and measures its marketing, it is capable of understanding which activities succeed and which fail. By monitor-ing it is also easier to understand the effects of marketing in relation to the company’s actual outcome. In addi-tion, in this way the company is able to discover its most effective and successful methods that, by refining, will provide the company with valuable competitive advantage. The subject of this thesis was measuring the successfulness of marketing. The study targeted at Finnish compa-nies’ marketing activities. Companies in the fields of real estate and construction were chosen as the target group of this study. The study revealed how much these companies measure the successfulness of their market-ing and by which methods. The theoretical context of this thesis is based on marketing literature, studies and latest articles. The study method was quantitative. The study material was collected through a web-based survey which was sent to marketing decision-makers of the chosen fields. The survey contained questions of current marketing activities, the most effective and least effective marketing activities, marketing measurement methods and changes in the marketing investments. The study showed that these fields preferred marketing methods that allow personal contacting. Also other met-hods were used, but their role was to support the main methods. Concerning the marketing measurement, ac-cording to the research, measuring is limited; the majority of the studied companies measured less than one fourth of their marketing activities. In indicators, those that measured financial result were equally popular as those that measured non-financial result. There seemed to be many different problems in attitudes and practi-cal implementation in measuring marketing....

Normatiivinen ohjeistus julkaisun laatimiseksi

Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli julkaisun normatiivisen ohjeistuksen laatiminen. Julkaisun normatiivinen ohjeistus toteutettiin Lohjan Laurean markkinointiviestinnän tueksi, markkinoitaessa alueellisia kehittämishankkeita. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli julkaisun suunnittelussa huomioitavien tekijöiden selvittäminen. Toinen työlle asetettu tavoite oli Lohjan Laurean markkinointiviestinnän erityispiirteiden selvittäminen sekä niiden huomioiminen markkinointijulkaisun suunnittelussa.
Opinnäytetyön teoreettinen tietoperusta pohjautui alan kirjallisuuteen sekä internet-lähteistä saatuun aineistoon. Kirjallisuuslähteet käsittelivät pääasiassa markkinointiviestintää, tiedotustoimintaa, julkaisutoimintaa sekä julkaisun suunnittelua.
Opinnäytetyön tuloksena laadittiin julkaisun normatiivinen ohjeistus, jota voidaan käyttää apuna markkinointijulkaisun suunnittelussa. Normatiivinen ohjeistus sisältää kuusi eri julkaisuprosessiin liittyvää vaihetta, joita ovat kohderyhmän määrittely, visuaalisen ilmeen suunnittelu, kansilehden ja sisällysluettelon suunnittelu, hanketiivistelmien toimittaminen, julkaisun taiton suunnittelu sekä tarjouspyynnön tekeminen ja työn painatus. Normatiivisessa ohjeistuksessa eri vaiheet on selvitetty sanallisesti sekä joitakin vaiheita on havainnollistettu mallien avulla.
Opinnäytetyölle asetetut tavoitteet saavutettiin melko hyvin. Julkaisun normatiivisessa ohjeistuksessa kyettiin selvittämään erityisesti markkinointiviestinnän osalta tärkeitä tekijöitä, kuten hankejulkaisulle sopivien kohderyhmien määrittely. Lisäksi selvitettiin Lohjan Laurean markkinointiviestinnän asettamia erityispiirteitä julkaisun visuaalisen ilmeen suunnitteluun liittyen, esimerkiksi graafisen ohjeistuksen käyttöä. Julkaisuprosessin vaiheiden dokumentointi työssä toteutettiin pelkistetysti. Julkaisun normatiivisesta ohjeistuksesta kuitenkin ilmenee julkaisuprosessin vaiheet ja ohjeistusta voidaan hyödyntää pohjana suunniteltaessa markkinointijulkaisuja Lohjan Laurean hanketoiminnan markkinoimiseksi.
Tämän opinnäytetyön jatkotoimenpiteiksi ehdotetaan hankkeiden markkinointijulkaisun suunnittelumallin rakentamista ja kuvaamista....

Commitment of rental workers Case Eilakaisla On of the post modern society’s phenomena have been the growing rate of rental work. Rental work is one of the irregular work relationships. Companies use rental work mainly because rental workers are easy and flexible answer to demand peaks. Finland’s first companies that offered rental workers were established in the 1960’s. Industrial relations are involved to all three parties. This thesis was made to Eilakaisla which is a Finnish rental work company. In earlier researches work commitment has been specified as a bond between employee and organization. Commitment can be defined as the thought that employee thinks that he is responsible for company’s result by his action. Commitment has positive effect to work efficiency, sick leaves and willingness to stay in organization. Work commitment is always a personal feeling. Thesis research section used quantitative method. Interviews were made at September and October 2010. The employees had been working for Eilakaisla for different periods, the longest being over two years and the shortest have worked about three months. Interviews were made whit eight and those were in connection with the whit in employee’s development discussion. Employees were mainly satisfied with working for Eilakaisla. Satisfying work assignments and good relationship with colleagues and foreman were two of the most important factor that increased work commitment. A weak spot about working as rental worker is the lack of work development. The expertice of Eilakaisla consultants expertise was considered adequate, in particular communication got good feed back. Rental work is a temporary solution for interviewee and future plans hold a permanent position in the customer company or somewhere else....

Study Material on Voice Directed Collecting of Goods Year The objective of this thesis was to produce study material on voice directed collecting of goods at a warehouse for the logistics students at Keuda Vocational College. The assignment was given by logistics lecturer Päivi Lindstedt. Ms Lindstedt had only some advertisement material from software companies and there was a need for unbiased study material for the students to give a close insight into voice directed collecting of goods at a warehouse. The study material packet includes a theory booklet, a PowerPoint slide show for the teacher, exercises and an exam on voice directed collecting of goods. The project was implemented by studying literature and conducting a survey for two specialists. Qualitative research was used as a supportive research method. Then a suitable study material packet was composed for the students. All parts of the study material were created with Microsoft Office programmes. The Project was completed in April 2010 when lecturer Päivi Lindstedt gave her approval for the study material packet....

Communication Plan for the Public Library of Riihimäki The purpose of this Bachelor’s thesis is to develop a plan for the external communication of the Public Library of Riihimäki. In a library, there are several procedures and different target groups. This brings several challenges to the external communication of libraries. The first aim of the study was to describe the present state of the external communication. This was done using a survey for both employees and customers. The second aim was to develop a functional and clear plan for the external communication for the case library. The theoretical background of this thesis consisted of external communication, informing and the planning of communication. The theoretical background consisted of literature. One of the research methods used was a survey and a questionnaire for the customers made in spring 2010 by the library. Another survey was made for the librarians in the Public Library of Riihimäki. The aim of this survey was to find out thoughts on the plan of external communication and what could be improved. Research results revealed that the external communication was relatively good in the Public Library of Riihimäki, but there were some issues that could be improved. Especially the status of social media will be more substantial in the future. In order to fulfill these goals, it is necessary to have an employee who coordinates external communication.
