Building evaluating method for development services This work corresponds to the everyday problem of how to evaluate comprehensively and reliably a wide range of development services, activities and achievements. At the beginning of thesis is written about the background and the criteria for the work necessary and the factors of the work. The first part of this thesis also shows the work during the processing of the evaluation, measurement and verification aspects of the results with the work of the qualitative content of the fundamentally important. After work and its impact on the content of the themes is written about the implementation and execution of progress. Because the work is project in nature, it is first described in the project’s progress, after which the content and implementation of its activities are described superficially. By thesis built a comprehensive method of an internal and external evaluation is structured around three main problems. The first part deals with how assess a person’s development. The basic idea is to define, in conformity with the initial situation of the person or group to assess the knowledge, as well as being produced by the change from the possible effects of the evolution of the market, close to the quality and nature of the relation. The second part focuses on two problems. The first problem is how to assess service buyer’s own ability to define correct requirements and the nature of the assistance that is needed. The second issue deals with the question how to assess the suitability of the service compared to the needs. The third part of the service provider is being assessed on the basis of the professional features and abilities to carry on given operation in accordance with the expectations. Achievement of this thesis, the evaluation method, is classified into three parts, one for each component multiplied by the policies and the style of content. There is written about the intended purposes and use of these parts. Writings show how the parts function as well as components of self-evaluation as together with the larger overall assessment. In the end of the thesis is described how this work and developed evaluation method can be applied and used in the future....

Development of personnel´s knowhow and welfare at work : Case: Company X The aims of this thesis were to develop know-how and to increase welfare at work within production personnel in company X. Part of the aim of developing personnel´s knowhow was to receive information about personnel´s thoughts on developing their know-how. Part of the aim of increasing personnel´s welfare was to define prevailing welfare, contentment and atmosphere at work, and personnel´s view of management. The key notes of this thesis were knowhow, developing knowhow, the entirety of welfare at work and a connection between of knowhow and welfare at work. The research was quantitative. Research results were received by questionnaires, of which 23 were returned. Response percentage was 45. According to the survey company X´s production personnel is willing to widen their knowhow and to receive new duties. Attitude to learning is positive. The survey indicated that satisfaction at work is at quite a good level. Several factors which undermine the motivation at work were found. Atmosphere was not experienced as good and deficiencies occurred in organizing, distribution of work and especially in flow of information. According to the survey modes of action and rewarding were not experienced as just. As a conclusion, good methods for developing personnel´s knowhow would be rotating as-signments regularly and discussions of development. Proposals for action are implementation of preceding methods and developing flow of information, communications, decision-making process, initiative system, atmosphere and fairness of reward system....

Tietojärjestelmät taloushallinnon prosesseissa

Opinnäytetyöni toimeksiantaja oli LänsiAuto–konserni. LänsiAuto–konsernin muodostaa emoyhtiö LänsiAuto Oy sekä tytäryhtiöt Auto-Jalonen Oy, Suomen Euroauto Oy ja Kiinteistö Oy Ansiokatu 1. LänsiAuto–konserni on viidellä eri paikkakunnalla toimiva moottoriajoneuvojen vähittäiskauppaa ja korjaamotoimintaa harjoittava yritys. Opinnäytetyöni tarkoituksena oli kuvata kuinka liiketoiminnan prosesseista syntyvä numeerinen tieto siirtyy tuloslaskelmaan ja taseeseen. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli kehittää LänsiAuto-konsernin taloushallinnon prosesseja sekä tietojärjestelmiä taloushallinnon näkökulmasta.
Opinnäytetyö on rajattu koskemaan taloushallinnon prosesseja ja tietojärjestelmiä taloushallinnon näkökulmasta. Opinnäytetyön teoreettisessa viitekehyksessä käsiteltiin yleisimpiä taloushallinnon prosesseja ja taloushallinnon tietojärjestelmiä sekä niihin liittyvää ajankohtaista kirjallisuutta. Teoreettisessa viitekehyksessä on käsitelty taloushallinnon prosesseja etenkin sähköisen taloushallinnon kannalta. Case-osiossa kuvataan LänsiAuto–konsernin taloushallinnon prosessit, käytössä olevat tietojärjestelmät sekä esitetään kehitysehdotuksia taloushallinnon prosessien ja tietojärjestelmien kehittämiseksi.
Opinnäytetyötä varten tehtiin kvalitatiivinen tutkimus syksyn 2010 aikana. Kvalitatiivinen tutkimus toteutettiin henkilöhaastatteluina, joissa haastateltavia haastateltiin sekä ryhmähaastatteluissa että yksilöhaastatteluissa. Haastatteluiden avulla kartoitettiin LänsiAuto–konsernin taloushallinnon prosesseja ja käytössä olevia tietojärjestelmiä. Tutkimuksen perusteella tehtiin kuvaus LänsiAuto-konsernin tietojärjestelmistä ja taloushallinnon prosesseista.
Tutkimuksen avulla saatiin selkeä kuvaus LänsiAuto–konsernin taloushallinnon prosesseista sekä tietojärjestelmistä ja niiden integroinnin toteutumisesta. Tutkimuksen tuloksista saatiin selville taloushallinnon prosessien ja järjestelmien ongelmakohtia. Ongelmakohtiin tehtiin konkreettisia kehitysehdotuksia. Kehitysehdotukset tehtiin sähköistyvän taloushallinnon näkökulmasta. Kehitysehdotukset olivat hyödyllisiä LänsiAuto–konsernille, koska niiden avulla yritys havaitsi taloushallinnon prosessien heikkouksia. Näitä heikkouksia parantamalla yritys voi saada aikaan esimerkiksi kustannussäästöjä. Kehitysehdotuksien myötä tuli keskustelua muun muassa myyntilaskujen lähettämisestä sähköisesti asiakkaille. Vaikka taloushallinto kehittyy koko ajan sähköisemmäksi, paperilaskut tulevat kuitenkin olemaan vielä verkkolaskujen rinnalla pitkän aikaa....

Development Discussions for a Workable Tool Case: K-Store Chain The purpose of the Bachelor’s thesis was to improve and standardize performance appraisals in the K-Store Chain. The aim of the study was to develop or update a form, which would support and guide the execution of performance appraisals. During the study the original assignment was extended; instead of investigating only a form, the whole procedure of performance appraisals was investigated including the current status of the performance appraisals. The theoretical background of the thesis discusses the process of the performance appraisals, from preparations to individual development part. The process was investigated from the angles of an individual and an organization. The references of the theoretical background were literature of leadership, estimation methods and development discussions. The research method of the thesis was qualitative. Also ideas and comments of future users of a form were used to improve the draft of a new form. The new form draft and instructions for performance appraisals were developed using the theoretical background research and received feedback from the users in order to integrate them better to the K-Store Chain environment. The Research results revealed that the most important conditions of success in performance appraisals are well made preparations, clear process and clear knowledge of the purpose. As a result of the thesis the whole K-Store Chain has an identical form for performance appraisals, including instructions and reporting. Additionally, as a result of the thesis, a model of an improved tool was created. The model allows K-Store Chain to improve the procedure of performance appraisals in the future. It can be mentioned as a conclusion, that performance appraisals are an important method of leadership. Nevertheless, the method must be constantly improved in order to keep it functional. Esimiestyön kehittäminen - määränpäänä toimiva työyhteisö

Tämän opinnäytetyön avulla selvitettiin, mitä kehitysalueita kohdeyrityksen esimiehellä oli esimiestyössään alaisten näkökulmasta sekä kuinka esimiestyötä kehittämällä voitiin vaikuttaa työyhteisön toimivuuteen. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tutkia sitä, minkälainen on hyvä esimies ja minkälaiset esimies- ja johtamistaidot ovat tarvittavia työyhteisön toimivuuden ja hyvinvoinnin kannalta. Opinnäytetyön tutkimuskohteena toimi kuntoklubi: empiirinen arviointitutkimus suoritettiin sen yhden toimipisteen työntekijöille sekä heidän esimiehelleen. Tutkimuksen yhtenä tavoitteena oli luoda luotettava ja helppo kyselylomake työkaluksi esimiestyön säännölliseen kehittämiseen kohdeyrityksessä.
Opinnäytetyön teoreettisessa viitekehyksessä tarkasteltiin esimiestyötä ja sen haasteita yleisellä tasolla. Johtamisrooleista tarkasteltiin ihmisten ja asioiden johtamista sekä valmentavaa johtamista. Esimiestyön osa-alueista tarkasteltiin viestintää, osaamisen ja kehittymisen tukemista, työhyvinvoinnin edistämistä sekä motivointia.
Opinnäytetyön kyselytutkimus toteutettiin kvantitatiivisena strukturoituna kyselynä. Kyselyyn osallistui 25 työntekijää sekä arvioitava esimies. Tutkimuksen vastausvaihtoehtoina käytettiin neliportaista Likert-asteikkoa. Tutkimusaineisto analysoitiin tilastollisesti sekä vertaamalla esimiehen ja henkilöstön vastauksia toisiinsa. Analysoinnissa kiinnitettiin erityisesti huomiota vastauksiin, jotka olivat arvoltaan alle kolmen sekä suuriin hajontoihin.
Tutkimuksen tulokset osoittivat kehityskeskustelujen suuren merkityksen ja tärkeyden sekä kehityskeskustelujen yhteyden palkitsemiseen, tavoiteasetteluun sekä työntekijöiden osaamisen kehittymiseen. Tutkimuksen avulla selvisi myös esimiehen kehitysalueita valmentamisessa ja kannustamisessa. Kyselyn avoimilla kysymyksillä saatiin selville, että työntekijöiden tuella ja avulla on merkitystä esimiestyön onnistumiseen sekä työyhteisön toimivuuden parantamiseen. Kokonaisvaltaisen ja toimivan esimiestyön avainasioita on, että esimies viestii selkeästi, tukee työntekijöiden osaamisen kehittymistä, luo puitteet hyvinvoivalle ja tasa-arvoiselle työpaikalle sekä motivoi työntekijöitänsä saavuttamaan yhteiset tavoitteet....

How professional goals influence work motivation The Employer of the research is a company, which was founded in 2006. The Company`s name is kept anonymous in this research and it is here called Wau Oy. The goal is to investigate how the daily goals show this company’s employees' motivation. The Research gave new information about the employees' attitudes and opinions about the goals. In addition it was examined how goal setting affects workers' stress levels. The study gave new information on employees' motivation and motivational factors. Results were also found factors which managers can develop their activities, so that the objectives are the most motivating. The theoretical framework consists of management by goals, goal, motivation, and stress. The first main heading is management by goals. After this theoretical framework consists of setting goals and goal and leadership. Motivation is the main title. This is followed by motivation, motivation theories as well as leadership and motivation. Stress is also a main heading, and then the titles of stress factors and stressful situations. The theoretical frame of reference is also treated with the objectives of the relationship between motivation and stress damage. The thesis is a quantitative study, carried out using a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was sent to respondents by electronic e-inquiry because the aim was to get a lot of replies. In addition, the test group was to be kept anonymous which was possible by using an anonymous electronic questionnaire. 40 people answered the questionnaire and the response rate was 40%. The number of responses was sufficient for the implementation of the research but the results could have been better utilized and generalized had there more responses. The results were presented as graphs, where the responses were averages. The results showed that the goals have an impact on workers `motivation. Individuals with a higher motivation are of the opinion that the objectives are a motivating factor. These people also see stress as a motivator. Goals affect employees' motivation in a positive and a negative way. Goals were also seen as relatively stressful, which is negative. Work climate was emphasized as most motivating factor. Superiors need to learn leadership, because now it's not as good as it could be....

The objective of this thesis was to assess the current levels of job motivation and job satisfaction at Company and to examine the factors that influence them. The intention was also to compare how the duration of employment affects job motivation and satisfaction. The objective was to create a business management tool, which will allow the measurement job satisfaction and motivation and the ways that they can be developed. The theoretical framework used for the study is based on motivation and job satisfaction theories. The study was conducted using quantitative research methods through a paper questionnaire. The questions were based on theories and the underlying factors that influence job satisfaction and motivation. The research was focused on examining the effects of the following background factors: work, work atmosphere, influence on workplace issues and promotion opportunities, salary and incentives, leadership, organization of work and self motivation. The response rate was 73.8%. The study involved the entire staff, except senior management. The company employs 65 people and 48 people answered the survey. The study was conducted on the Company X's education and recreation day. Respondents could answer the questionnaire anonymously. Job satisfaction and motivation were generally good. This study showed that respondents were particularly satisfied with the good atmosphere in the workplace, good fellow workers, and interesting and varied work. Also respondents were satisfied with the work of their supervisors. However, poor career opportunities and influence decreased job satisfaction and motivation and some respondents felt that they are not treated equally in the workplace and that the remuneration policy is not fair to all employees. It was felt by some respondents that it would be good to receive more feedback and that good work should be acknowledged more often. From the perspective of duration of employment satisfaction was highest for those who had worked for less than a year or more than five years at the company. The factors that motivate most employees included co-workers, the atmosphere, the pay and bonuses as well as feedback and recognition for good work. Decreasing motivation factors were low and unequal pay, bad atmosphere, too long hours and poor information flow. Major areas of development related to work environment and its improvement. Also, feedback from administration should be increased, as well as constructive feedback. The thesis was commissioned by Jukka Rönkä, the editor-in-chief of Urheilulehti, who was also interested in the strategic implications of Urheilulehti’s use of social media. The method of case study was selected as a research strategy, which consists of several research problems and methods. The reasons behind Urheilulehti’s current status and its future plans were investigated through the use of the open interview method. Analysis of documentary evidence was used to try to prove Twitter’s status as an important tool of social media, particularly in sport. To create guidelines for using Twitter information was drawn from various sources: a theory of how to create a social media plan, the benchmarking of sports media and a themed interview with a social media expert. Support for the research was drawn from various theoretical perspectives on social media in the context of business, including an examination of the term “social media”, a history of the phenomenon, statistics about its use and differences between marketing in social media and ordinary marketing. The case study was conducted using a qualitative research approach. The result suggests that Twitter is an important tool of social media. Based on the open interview, the themed interview and the theory of how to create a social media plan guidelines for the use of Twitter were personalized to meet Urheilulehti’s brand and persona. The concept was created utilizing the most important aspects of the theory of creating a social media plan: goals, content and resources. A quality review of the concept was done with SWOT- analysis and with the themed interview with the social media expert. Twitter and social media - Case: Urheilulehti Social media is a result of the evolution of the Internet. However, its more interactive nature has created problems for companies, which must carefully consider questions of usefulness and profitability. At the same time the magazine business is struggling as readers’ needs are no longer fulfilled solely by the magazines themselves. Hearing of the principal in petition in accordance with the guardianship law The purpose of trusteeship is to secure the interests and rights of people in a weaker position. My dissertation deals with the hearing of a person of age to whom the need of trusteeship is topical in some stage of life. Illness, the weakening health and minority form the most general grounds for the appointing of a trustee. The objective of my dissertation is to show alternatives for the determining of the traditional general trustee with whose help the person of age and close ones can reduce the amount of general trusteeship by their actions by becoming acquainted with different trustee-methods. The focus of the dissertation concentrates on the hearing procedure in the courts which is up for discussion when resisting trusteeship, the determining of the person of age and of the sharing trustee or the restricting of the operation competency to the matter. The central purpose of the dissertation was to pay attention to the trustee’s appointment process and to how the person’s own opinions and declarations of intent are considered in the solutions of the court. As material in my dissertation I used the hearing practice dating from the time of the guardianship law from right literature, decisions of the Supreme Court and on government proposals. I examine the present valid guardianship law based on the hearing regulations and process norms which are used in the courts. The statistics and interviews serve as a part of the empiric and research-based approach to the guardianship-matters....
