Social media measuring as a part of web service marketing plan The goal of this study is to research how well Laurea Leppävaara has done its social media marketing. In the base of this research of social media marketing were Google Analytics’ free web service figures. Utilizing these figures it was able to evaluate the Laurea SID’s social media present state. The grown interest of social media in companies’ marketing has been one of the key reasons for this study. The theoretical part of this study tells about social media and social media measurement tools. Also, in this part social media tools are being presented. In the research part these tools are tested practically for the co-operative organization Laurea SID and its re-new website. In addition, Laurea SID has a Facebook site and a Twitter site, the measuring of which have also been utilized. The figures showed that in the measurement period (from 26th of August to 30th of November) Laurea SID’s social media activity has slightly developed. However, Facebook site likes has multiplied in the period. Twitter site activity has not been very active. On this theoretical and research base a guide has been created for Laurea SID about how to continue social media measuring. Laurea SID does not have yet a social media marketing strategy. A key part of the strategy is measuring that the organization knows how well the marketing has succeed. The future possible research subjects could be creating social media marketing strategy by this study. Developing Supply Chain Process at ITT Suomi Oy’s Pump Stations In this project the main purpose was to develop ITT Suomi Oy’s supply-chain management in larger pumping stations. ITT Suomi Oy had some major problems with their supply-chain. The delivery times for the whole pumping stations are increasing, and the customer satisfaction is falling. The main reason for this project was to provide processed information for the case company. The project consists of a theory and a empirical section. In the theory, the main emphasis is on the supply-chain and its management. In the empirical section, the case company’s supply-chain processes are opened, and described. The processes were opened with interviews and the case company’s order history for pump stations in spring 2009. The project was accomplished as an assignment for the case company. The case company’s main supplier, the central warehouse, had some major delivery problems with some products. This fact became problematic, when the process could not proceed as the raw materials did not reach the subcontractors or customers, which means that it was also reflected also on the subcontractors’ deliveries. The subcontractors themselves had also some delivering problems. The third largest problem was the changes made afterwards in the clients’ orders. These changes caused the delay in the process and tied capital. In addition to the main problems, there were a number of minor causes. The projects reached its goal, the main problems were found. The main problems were partly solved by increasing the stock value and by counting the stock items. In this way, it will be possible to response to the delivery problems. This can also make it easier for the subcontractors to sustain their own timetables. In the case of poor delivering, it is possible to deliver delayed parts straight from (Vantaa) the place of departure to subcontractors. It is also vital to generate total supply-chain process in one well linked ensemble. That is the only way to get the whole delivery times more customer friendly. Sosiaalisen median merkitys mikroyrityksille - Case: TallFits Oy

Tämän opinnäytetyön aiheena on sosiaalinen media mikroyritysten näkökulmasta. Työssä käsi-tellään sosiaalista mediaa ja markkinoinnissa tapahtunutta muutosta sekä niitä toimintatapoja, joita interaktiivinen mediaympäristö yrityksille ja sen asiakkaille tarjoaa. Työn tavoitteena on tuottaa tietoa sosiaalisen median hyödyistä ja haasteista mikroyrityksille ja lisätä koh-deyrityksemme TallFits Oy:n myyntiä ja löydettävyyttä.
Tavoitteiden saavuttamiseksi opinnäytetyömme tarkoituksena oli tehdä empiirinen tutkimus sosiaalisen median merkityksestä mikroyrityksille ja laatia sosiaalisen median suunnitelma kohderyhmään kuuluvalle case - yritykselle. Myynnin ja löydettävyyden lisäämiseksi esitämme sosiaalisen median suunnitelmassa konkreettisia toimenpiteitä asiakkaiden osallistamiseksi yrityksen kotisivuilla ja Facebook - verkostoitumispalvelussa. Tämän lisäksi tuomme suunnitelmassa esiin toimintoja, joilla edistetään yrityksen löydettävyyttä ja asiakkaiden kokemusta yrityksestä ja sen palveluista ja tuotteista. Sosiaalisen median merkityksen selvittämiseksi teimme viidestä mikroyrityksestä koostuvan laadullisen tutkimuksen, jonka aineistonkeruumenetelmänä hyödynsimme teemahaastattelua. Aineiston analysoinnissa hyödynsimme tämän lisäksi sekä laadullista että määrällistä analysointimenetelmää.
Sosiaalisen median merkitys mikrotyrityksille oli ennen kaikkea uusi markkinointikanava. Sosi-aalista mediaa ei kuitenkaan pidetä itsestään selvänä toimintaympäristönä kaikille mikroyrityksille, vaan sen hyödyllisyys nähdään olevan riippuvainen yrityksen kohderyhmästä. Esimerkiksi yritystenvälisessä kaupankäynnissä sosiaalisen median käyttöä ei pidetty niin hyödyllisenä kuin kuluttajille tapahtuvassa kaupankäynnissä. Sosiaalisen median merkittävimpinä hyötyinä nähtiin tiedonkulun nopeus ja tiedottamisen yksinkertaisuus, minkä lisäksi sosiaalinen media on myös madaltanut kynnystä tiedottaa asioista. Sosiaalisen median etuna nähtiin myös taloudellinen hyöty, joka ilmeni matkustus- ja viestintäkulujen pienentymisenä. Sosiaalisen median haasteeksi mikroyrittäjät kokivat sosiaalisen median sovellusten suuren määrän ja niiden ymmärtämisen ja käytön hallitsemisen. Tämän lisäksi sosiaalisen median hyödyntämistä rajoittaa tietämättömyys siitä, mitä sosiaalisessa mediassa tulisi asiakkaille kertoa. Tämä vie lisäksi aikaa, joka ilmeni myös mikroyritysten haasteeksi taloudellisten ja työvoimaan liittyvien resurssien lisäksi....

Towards equal pay by developing the payroll systems : Case of the Tapiola Group The purpose of this thesis was to investigate employee feelings and opinions of equal pay and pay systems development in Tapiola group. Tapiola Group is a company of 3000 employees which offers insurance, bank, savings and investment services in Finland. The statutory duty of employer is to advance equal pay. Simply put, principle of equal pay generally means that of the same or equal work must be paid the same salary regardless of gender. Agreements about equal pay includes both in international agreements and general convention on human rights. In Finnish legislation constitution, equality act and non discrimination act regulate equal pay. Remuneration is a process between organization and its members. It is a two-way process which satisfies both parties. Remuneration and organization’s remuneration policy are implemented through pay systems. Pay systems consists of three parts: remuneration principles and selected remuneration ways, the method of division and development of a system. Data for the study was collected with quantitative research. The data was gathered with the aid of internet questionnaire. The questionnaire was sent by email as a link to about 570 employees in Tapiola Group and 317 responses were received. The study shows that every fifth respondent has experienced discrimination in pay and reward issues in Tapiola. The most common causes are personal chemistry, experience and age. Most of the respondents of Tapiola are quite dissatisfied with their level of salary. Respondents are also dissatisfied with salary conversation model. Respondents think that they can not influence their wages with salary conversation model. Slightly more than half of the respondents, think that the pay and reward systems are fair. Gender equality in the pay systems works better in men’s view than in women’s. The results show that the new remuneration models are a step in the right direction towards a fair wage. Respondents felt that the three most important characteristics of a fair remuneration can be found in Tapiola pay models. Practical part still needs development to be simpler and understandable. And supervisors need education about pay systems that they can communicate with the subordinates....

The aim is to create a process model and schedule that can be used in the future. They are going to be used as tools for Laurea University of Applied Sciences and CHECK-IT center (China Holland Educational Competence and Knowledge center on IT) in order to cooperate more efficiently. It is very important to create such a model and schedule, so that every party knows what to do and when.
