The purpose of this thesis was to establish from the perspective of marketing the future effect of psychological aptitude tests on student selection criteria. The thesis was carried out to an expert company which makes psychological tests during the process of student selection. The company had not marketed its expert services earlier because there were always enough customers. The situation changed in autumn 2015 when the Finnish National Agency for Education decided to reform social services and health care education. According to the Ministry of Education and Culture, anyone who gets a certificate of completion of the basic education syllabus, will have to be given a place of study. Anyone can be chosen including e.g. drug addicts, sadists and mentally deranged who would interfere with both the process of educational work and endanger the patients and the workplace. Health care has always attracted the above mentioned applicants. The biggest trade unions understood the situation immediately. There is research information from educational institutions since the 1970´s. Earlier unsuitable applicants had been eliminated already in the student selection process where for over six decades (until autumn 2015) personal characteristics, resources, learning capacity and motivation, required both in education and at work, were emphasized. The theoretical framework of the thesis formed the basis for the review of the future of psychological aptitude tests. It focused on the societal and educational importance of the tests and the key concepts in marketing. The guiding theories were an understanding of marketing tools and channels and their effectiveness as well as the mutual disparity of people and professions. A qualitative research method was used in the thesis. On the basis of the theoretical framework of the thesis, a questionnaire was designed to long term specialists of the company. Their answers represented their mutual view. By analysing the answers, more information was found out about psychological aptitude tests and about the factors which affect their future from the perspective of marketing. The thesis clarified how marketing of psychological aptitude tests should be arranged in order to secure and to increase their use in student selection. The thesis strengthened the vision of the company to focus more effectively on operative marketing actions considering the Parliament and other important operators in the field. This fact has a vital importance for the future of psychological tests and their users. The findings of the thesis are useful for the activities of the company, especially buyers, users, other interest groups and professional organisations. The thesis is connected to the matters currently presented in media, such as, student selection, students´ legal protection, patient and client safety in nursing. The purpose of this research was to identify and critically analyse the influence of the sales coaches at Company X's sales on company’s sales persons. The research aimed to point out specific factors and coaching methods that motivate insurance salespersons to progress in the selling process. This research aims to concretize theories related to motivation and communication in an organization such as Maslow’s hierarchy and leading and managing change theories. Another objective for this research was to make recommendations for Company X’s sales coaching process based on the results. Primary data were collected through theme interviews. Sales coaches and sales persons of the Helsinki metropolitan area team were interviewed in order to take into account both perspectives on coaching and motivation. Interviews were carried out individually and in teams. Secondary data were collected from printed and online literature and thesis reports that contained information about motivating employees and sales coaching. It was found out that the major challenge related to sales coaching was a lack of time. Both sales coaches and sales persons hoped to have more time for individual and team sales coaching during working hours. The research highlighted that each sales person has his/her own motivators which can be found as a challenge when coaching in a team. Sales persons stated that there would be more demand for individual coaching and highlighted the importance of communication between sales coach and sales person. The conclusion of this research is that communication and motivation are linked factors in sales coaching. Promootiotapahtuma jättää jäljen – yhteistyötä ja yhteisiä tavoitteita : case: Red Events Oy

Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on selkeyttää toimeksiantajayrityksen roolia ja tavoitteita promootiomarkkinoinnin alalla sekä selvittää, miten yrityksen tuottamat promootiotapahtumat onnistuvat. Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantajana on helsinkiläinen promootiotapahtumia tuottava tapahtumatoimisto Red Events Oy. Kehittämistehtäväksi ja tarkoitukseksi työssä muodostui toimintamallin luominen yrityksen työntekijöille ja kaupoille paremman yhteistyön sekä onnistuneiden promootiotapahtumien varmistamiseksi.
Opinnäytetyön viitekehyksen muodostaa myynninedistäminen, henkilökohtainen myyntityö ja asiakassuhteiden johtaminen. Myynninedistämisen teoria kertoo myynninedistämisen perustiedot: miksi ja miten myynninedistämistä voidaan toteuttaa ja miksi sitä tehdään. Henkilökohtaisen myyntityön teoria paneutuu onnistuneen myyntitapahtuman etenemiseen, hyvän myyjän ominaisuuksiin ja kaupanteon prosesseihin. Asiakassuhteiden johtaminen toimii kulmakivenä asiakaslähtöisesti toimivan yrityksen toiminnassa.
Opinnäytetyön tutkimus toteutettiin teemahaastatteluina ja brainstormingina. Teemahaastattelut toteutettiin kahdella yrityksen asiakkaalla ja kahdella kauppiaalla. Haastattelujen tarkoituksena oli saada yleistä kuvaa promootiomarkkinoinnista eri näkökulmista ja selvittää, mitkä asiat promootiotapahtumissa toimii ja mitkä osa-alueet kaipaavat vielä kehittämistä. Brainstorming toteutettiin Red Events Oy:n avainhenkilöiden kesken ja tavoitteena oli pohtia promootiotapahtumia ja toimialaa eri näkökulmista.
Teemahaastatteluiden ja brainstormingin perusteella promootiotapahtumissa on haasteena eri osapuolten kommunikointi ja yhteydenpito. Vaikka osapuolten intressit ovat samat, selkeää vastuunjakoa ei ole. Brainstormingin perusteella yrityksen avainhenkilöt hahmottivat yrityksen tavoitteet ja roolin promootiotapahtumissa selkeästi, ja yrityksen linja oli avainhenkilöiden kesken yhteneväinen.
Tutkimustulosten pohjalta opinnäytetyön toiminnallinen tulos oli toimintamalli, joka selkeyttää promootiotapahtumien osapuolten työnjakoa ja vastuualueita. Tiiviimpi yhteistyö promootioyrityksen ja kauppojen välillä myös olisi toivottavaa. Brainstorming koettiin yrityksessä hyvänä työkaluna ja sen työskentelytavan voisi siirtää myös promootiotyöntekijöiden tapaamisiin....

The purpose of this thesis was to consider the usage of tax havens as a part of tax planning and tax avoidance. The thesis considers the extent of the most usual tax laws in practical situations, examines methods of tax avoiding and goes through some international tax jurisprudence. Tax havens have been in the news since the huge data leaks came out in 2016 and 2017, and therefore this thesis considers their impact on political actions. The aim of the thesis was to deepen the general knowledge concerning tax havens and apprehension about the extent of tax havens’ usage all over the world. The thesis also introduces some methods that have been used to decrease tax havens. Firstly the thesis looks into the Finnish tax system and then to tax havens as a phenomenon. After that the thesis expands on how tax havens are usually taken advantage of, and how politicians attempt to prevent that. The thesis explains also the relationships of EU tax law, tax agreements and national legislation. An essential question is, is every deposit made in a tax haven region illegal or unethical? At the beginning of the theoretical framework the juridical hierarchy is considered which then leads the reader towards the legislation of taxes. At the end of the thesis there is an interpretation and consideration of the complexity of the Act on the Taxation of Shareholders in Controlled Foreign Companies through cases in which they are trying to find solutions through the modification of the law. Observation, agreements on tax information, as well as tax agreements, have improved the abilities to track the usage of tax havens. Also, significantly observation is important when solving international taxation and the principle of priorities in relation to EU tax law and tax agreements compared to national legislation....

Leadership in projects The purpose of this thesis was to help project management students to start as a project manager. To find out what is the profile of a good project manager and what kind of leader-ship skills are necessary for a well working organization. As a functional part of the thesis the aspect of project manager training (for five credits) was dealt with which can be used before starting as a project manager. The thesis was commissioned by Laurea University of Applied Sciences. In the theoretical part of this thesis, managerial work was studied at a general level. More specifically the project manager’s responsibilities, tasks, potential problems situations and leadership roles. Management and leadership were looked at separately. The operational part was started by interviewing students at Laurea. The students were asked about their current status, their feelings about the responsibility of being a project manager and what the learning needs are. The result of the thesis was a project manager training. Which included research of own strengths, training projects and delegation exercises, students presenting old projects, and theory of project leadership. The results of the study showed the great importance of project manager training. The key issues for a successful project work are that the project manager clearly communicates, supports the development in the project team, creates a framework for an equal atmosphere and motivates the achievement of common goals. Training can be used to support and enhance student work....

Evaluaatiotutkimus sosiaalisen median markkinoinnista vuosina 2015-2017

Opinnäytetyön aihe syntyi Mäntsälän Yrityskehityksen tarpeesta tutkia sosiaalisen median kautta tapahtuvan markkinoinnin nykytilaa ja kehitystä. Mäntsälän Yrityskehitys Oy eli MYK on suomalainen yritys, joka auttaa yrityksiä sijoittumaan Mäntsälään ja kehittää kunnan paikallista elinkeinoelämää. MYK toteuttaa sosiaalisen median markkinointia ainoastaan Facebookissa ja sen sisällöstä vastaa MYK:n markkinointipäällikkö Jyrki Teeriaho. Tutkimuksessa etsimme tekijöitä, jotka lisäisivät Facebook-markkinoinnin tehokkuutta. Tutkimustuloksia soveltaen esitimme kehitysehdotuksia toimeksiantajalle ja annoimme kattavan kuvan tämän hetkisestä markkinoinnin tilanteesta sekä kehityksestä viimeisen kahden vuoden ajalta.
Tutkimusmenetelminä tutkimuksessa käytettiin kvalitatiivista tutkimusmenetelmää ja evaluaatiotutkimusta. Tutkimusaineisto koostui MYK:n Facebook-sivun tilastotiedoista, teemahaastattelusta ja kyselystä. Saimme oikeudet tutkia MYK:n Facebook-sivujen tilastotietoja. Tilastotiedoista selvitimme seuraaja– ja tykkääjämäärien muutoksia ja kehitystä suhteessa julkaisuihin. Lisäksi saimme tietoa seuraajien sukupuolesta, iästä, sijainnista ja ammatista. Toteutimme myös teemahaastattelun, jossa haastattelimme markkinointipäällikkö Teeriahoa ja lopuksi teimme lyhyen seuraajakyselyn, joka upotettiin MYK:n Facebook–sivuilla.
MYK:n Facebook-sivun suosio kasvoi selkeästi viimeisen kahden vuoden aikana. Eniten seuraajia oli Helsingistä ja Mäntsälästä. Seuraajat tavoitti Facebookissa parhaiten yhdeksältä illalla ja suurin osa seuraajista oli 45-54-vuotiaita. Julkaisujen suosituimpia aiheita olivat Mäntsälän historia, paikalliset tapahtumat ja onnistumiset henkilötasolla sekä kunnan menestyminen. Parhaiten huomiota saivat kuvat ja erilaiset uutislinkit.
Tutkimustulosten perusteella kehittämiskohteiksi toimeksiantajalle suosittelimme kiinnittämään huomiota julkaisujen ajoittamiseen sekä pidempien taukojen välttämiseen. Kannustimme myös olemaan aktiivinen ylläpitäjä ja vastaamaan sivulle tuleviin viesteihin ja kommentteihin, jotta seuraajat kokevat tulevansa huomatuksi ja reagoivat jatkossakin paremmin julkaisuihin. Toiseksi sosiaalisen median kanavaksi suosittelimme Linkediniä, jonka kautta voi luoda ammattimaista verkostoa sidosryhmien välille ja joka ei vaadi aktiivista päivittäistä julkaisemista....
