Leading the customership, Case Company X A company that operates in a service industry has to be aware of how to work with customers. It is important to know what the ways of leading the customerships are. First the company needs to have a strategy that helps to guide customers. Strategy defines whether the company wants to have new customers or to progress its present customers. The company should have a vision and an objective that give the means to investigate customerships. It is also essential to analyse the customer segments. After that it is easy to offer different services to different customers. Knowing how to lead customerships has an impact on a company’s finance and success. This thesis examines a company that is a music school. The company is called Company X and it is a corporation that teaches people how to play instruments, how to sing properly and how to be involved in an ensemble. Company X has a large number of customers. The quantity of customers has increased during the past few years. The purpose of the research is to give proposals how to lead customers better than now. The managing director of Company X was interviewed three times. The managing director was asked about Company X’s customers and strategy. Four employees of Company X were interviewed. They were chosen because they are the ones who teach music as their daytime position. Company X also has teachers who are working as freelancers. After the interviews it was discovered that Company X does not have a strategy or vision how to lead customerships. The company did not have a written objective of how to analyse the customers. However the employees of the company considered the customers as the most important factor in a business. The information about the customers is usually written by the teacher who is responsible for that customership. There is not a functional system where to save customer information. Company X should make the ways of leading customers more active. It is not my responsibility to make sure the company will follow the suggestions. The managing director of Company X will decide how to use the results to make Company X more successful....

Customer satisfaction in Kuortti centre This thesis studied the opinions of travellers and other customers who stopped at the ABC gasoline service station in Kuortti on the centre of Kuortti. The reason for the research was to find out travellers’ satisfaction concerning the services in Kuortti centre and find out new business opportunities for the entrepreneurs. Also the customer service in Kuortti centre was under the loop. Kuortti is located along highway number 5 in Pertunmaa. Pertunmaa is located in the Western part of the state province of Eastern Finland, in the region of Southern Savo. Pertunmaa was established 1926 and the population is approximately 1975 permanent inhabitants and 3700 summer inhabitants. This study was made as a quantitative inquiry study, where consumers at the station answered questions concerning customer satisfaction and services at the station. Parts of the answers were collected from open parts of the questionnaire. The group that was studied consisted of 83 travellers or other customer who had a break at the gasoline service station. The target group of the study was travellers and their needs. The results of both phases were analysed with SPSS, which is a statistical program. The study showed that the customers are satisfied with the customer service in service points in Kuortti centre. Customers were also satisfied with the services in Kuortti. It is possible to create new business opportunities depending on demand and the product or service. There was interest for the new business ideas among the studied group. The information gathered from the study will be used for developing and improving of Kuortti centre....

The successful e-invoicing introductory project in Smilehouse concern Year 2009 Pages 102 The purpose of this thesis was to describe how a company realizes a successful e-invoicing introduction project. In the background of this thesis is the Smilehouse concern commission to execute an e-invoicing introductory project for the company. The purpose of this thesis was to motivate companies to introduce e-billing and officiate as a handbook for companies which are planning to introduce e-invoicing. The research problem of this thesis was to solve how the company should operate that the project would be most successful for the company. This thesis also analyses problems in e-invoicing and the importance of e-invoicing in society. The process description of how to introduce the e-invoicing to a company was based on active acquisition of information and the practical experience in the e-invoicing project in the Smilehouse concern. This thesis contains also an interview with the employees who work with e-invoicing. The interview generally discussess e-invoicing, its problematic nature and how companies should introduce e-invoicing. The e-invoicing introductory project in the Smilehouse concern was very successful. Smilehouse reached all the objectives which were intensifying functions, saving costs, working hours and quality improvement in customer service of the e-invoicing project. This thesis also defined the importance of e-invoicing. In the future companies must transfer to e-invoicing because the cost savings and depopulation require that. The problematic nature in e-invoicing is that the introduction of the e-invoicing to companies has been made too complicated and difficult to implement. That is the result from several e-invoicing standards and formats. E-invoicing as a subject and how to use it is still rather unknown in companies. When companies need help to solve problems in e-invoicing there are some e-invoice experts and they are the ones in key positions. The result of this thesis expresses clearly that companies should introduce e-invoicing as soon as possible. Support material to recruiting and job orientation for Rakennuskemia Oy The purpose of this thesis was to create support material to support recruiting and job orien-tation at Rakennuskemia Oy. The subject was chosen because the company had failed in some of their latest recruitments. The company also needed support for job orientation. The goal was to create a material package which would be easily understandable and could be used in the company every time when recruiting new personnel. The company has no per-sonnel specialist so the created material is a key to success in recruiting when using only the company’s own personnel. The theory basis was compiled using several different books. Finnish legislation and few internet sources were used to help building the basis. The material package based on the theory basis was compiled with the company’s conditions and according to suggestions made by the author. The material has been compiled in dense association with the company’s rep-resentative. The created material also complies with the company’s document layout. As a result for this thesis the company gets a wide material package which will help to reduce the time spent to the routines concerning recruiting and job orientation. With the help of the material recruiting and job orientation are more logical and controlled schemes. When the project is controlled, the personnel have more time for the other operations in the company. It is also intended that the company has more self confidence subsequent to the material they now have that they can recruit more labour easily and with a great confidence....

Strateginen markkinointisuunnitelma: Case Länsi-Uudenmaan Vesi ja Ympäristö ry

Tämä opinnäytetyö oli osa Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulun kokonaishanketta “Teollisen palvelu-liiketoiminnan koulutustarpeen selvittäminen Lohjan ja Tammisaaren seutukunnissa ja näiden alueiden pk-yritysten osaamisperustan kehittäminen”, joka oli osittain Euroopan Sosiaalira-haston (ESR) rahoittama. Opinnäytetyö käsitteli Länsi-Uudenmaan Vesi ja Ympäristö ry:n markkinoinnin kehittämistä asiakaslähtöisyyden pohjalta.
Vesi- ja ympäristöyhdistykset ovat merkittäviä tekijöitä alueellisessa ympäristösuojelussa. Ne tuottavat ja levittävät tietoa yksityisille, yhdistyksille, yrityksille ja kunnille. Länsi-Uudenmaan Vesi ja Ympäristö ry tarjoaa tutkimus- ja tiedotustoiminnan lisäksi myös asiantun-tijapalveluita vesien- ja ympäristönsuojeluaiheenpiiriin liittyen. Näiden palveluiden merkitys on ympäristötietoisuuden ja vastuullisuuden myötä kasvanut ja ne tuovat helpotusta mahdol-listamalla esimerkiksi yritysten keskittymisen ydintoimintaansa. Palveluiden tarjoaminen lii-ketoiminnan muodossa tuo kohdeorganisaation kaltaisille nonprofit-organisaatioille (voittoa tuottamattomat) kyvyn pysyä mukana alan kehityksessä sekä resurssit tehdä enemmän tutki-mus- ja tiedotustoimintaa.
Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli strategisen markkinoinnin suunnittelun työkalujen avulla luoda suunnitelma Länsi-Uudenmaan Vesi ja Ympäristö ry:n pitkän tähtäimen markkinointitoimenpi-teille. Asiakaslähtöisyys huomioitiin osana markkinoinnin kehittämistyötä, sillä se auttaa koh-distamaan oikeat toimet oikealle yleisölle. Tuloksena syntyi kokonaisuus, jossa jokaiselle stra-tegisen merkityksensä mukaan jaetulle asiakasryhmälle koottiin oma strategiapohjainen markkinointisuunnitelma.
Strategisen markkinointisuunnitelman ohella tarkennettiin asiakaskohtaamisissa ja asiakassuh-teenhoidossa tarvittavaa tietoa ja tekniikoita. Tämän pohjalta asiakasryhmille luotiin asia-kashoito-ohjelmat ja malli asiakasprofiilista.
Työn tuloksien kautta Länsi-Uudenmaan Vesi ja Ympäristö ry kykenee kehittämään markki-nointiaan asiakaslähtöisesti sekä luomaan arvoa asiakkaalle ja kilpailuetua yhdistykselle.
Jatkossa mahdollisuutta asiakasprofiilien yhdistämiseen yhdistyksen varsinaiseen tietojärjes-telmään olisi hyvä tutkia. Markkinoiden tutkiminen esimerkiksi kahden vuoden päästä markki-natutkimuksen kautta on myös yksi jatkotutkimusaihe....

Laurea University of Applied Sciences Abstract Laurea Hyvinkää Business Management Programme Legal expertise Eija Kuokkanen Municipal Elections from the Point of View of Municipal Organisation Year 2009 Pages 36 The aim of my thesis is to describe the procedure related to municipal elections expressly from the point of view of the municipal organisation and also bring into view the fact to what extent the municipal elections engage municipal employees. This study is based on my perceptions as well as the laws and directions based on these laws. Thus the question is of a perceptive case study. A municipality arranges an election on the average once a year. The municipal election every four years is the most engaging. The highest electoral authority in the election is the Ministry of Justice, which is in charge of arranging the election. The Central Election Committee of the Municipality as a local authority is responsible for organizing the election on the local level. Especially the legislation concerning municipal elections and electoral directions from the Ministry of Justice are surveyed. Also the local electoral authorities: Central Election Committee, election committees at the polling stations, electoral commissions and election commissioners at advance polling stations as well as their tasks are taken into view. The electoral procedure is described from the preceding to the subsequent measures. In the middle there are the voting in advance, the election day, the voting result and its publishing. As source material there have been used regulations, the directions from the Ministry of Justice and judicial literature. Tämän tutkimus- ja kehittämishankkeen tarkoituksena oli luoda toimeksiantajayritykselle asiakassegmentointi sekä kehittää asiakasrekisteriä. Opinnäytetyön taustalla oli Laureaammattikorkeakoulun vuonna 2007 käynnistetty ESR-rahoitteinen projekti “Teollisen palveluliiketoiminnan
koulutustarpeen selvittäminen Lohjan ja Tammisaaren seutukunnissa ja näiden alueiden pk-yritysten osaamisperustan kehittäminen”.
Opinnäytetyön teoreettinen viitekehys on rakennettu asiakaslähtöistä liiketoimintamallia,
segmentointia sekä asiakasrekisteriä käsittelevien kirjallisuuslähteiden pohjalta. Päälähteinä käytettiin Jukka Ala-Mutkan ja Erkki Talvelan julkaisemia teoksia asiakaslähtöisestä liiketoiminnasta sekä strategioista ja toimintamalleista. Tutkimuksen menetelmien tukijalkoina ovat
Ala-Mutkan ja Talvelan malli asiakaslähtöisestä liiketoiminnasta sekä erityisesti markkina- ja asiakastuntemusta käsittelevä osa-alue. Lisäksi Ropen sekä Ala-Mutkan ja Talvelan mallit segmentoinnista ovat vaikuttaneet niin työn teoreettiseen kuin toiminnalliseenkin osioon. Asiakasrekisterin analysointiin ja kehittämiseen käytettiin pääosin Ropen ja Pölläsen kirjallista
tuotantoa. Tutkimusotteena oli toimintatutkimus.
Kehittämishankkeen toiminnallisessa osiossa analysoitiin toimeksiantajayrityksen asiakasrekisteriä.
Asiakastietokanta käsitti 3094 asiakkaan tiedot vuodelta 2007.
Toiminnallisen osion tuotokset perustuvat asiakaspohjan analysointiin ja sen perusteella tehtyihin johtopäätöksiin.
Kehittämishankkeen oli määrä luoda toimeksiantajalle segmentointikriteerit sekä kehittää asiakasrekisterin sisältöä. Segmentointikriteereiksi valittiin ostokäyttäytymiseen vaikuttavat tiedot.
Hankkeelle asetetut tavoitteet saavutettiin suhteellisen hyvin ja työn tuloksena syntyi asiakaskannan segmentointi, jonka pohjalta toimintaa voidaan kehittää. Valittujen segmentointikriteerien perusteella syntyi kaksi pääsegmenttiä sekä kolme alasegmenttiä. Asiakasrekisterin analysoinnin pohjalta annettiin kehitysehdotukset uuden asiakasrekisterin sisällöksi. Ehdotukset asiakasrekisterin parantamiseksi liittyivät asiakasrekisterin hyödyntämiseen markkinoinnin
tehostamisessa sekä tiedon käyttökelpoisuuteen asiakasrajapinnassa.
Jatkotutkimusaiheeksi esitettiin uusien segmentointikriteerien ja asiakasrekisterin kehitysehdotusten
siirtämistä osaksi järjestelmällistä asiakasstrategiaa sekä niiden hyödyntämistä laajemmassa
mittakaavassa....

Money laundering from Nooa Savings Bank’s point of view In this thesis the purpose is to describe money laundering in Finland generally from laws and acts and also from banks’, and especially from Nooa Savings Bank’s, point of view. This thesis is made as an assignment for Nooa Savings Bank and the purpose of the thesis is to create a versatile and large money laundering guideline that the personnel of Nooa Savings Bank can use in matters of money laundering. This thesis will disclose practical perspectives, for example how personnel of the banks have to observe the commitment of identifying customers in relation to money laundering. Money laundering means any transaction which generates an asset as the results of an illegal act. The purpose is to hide the assets and move them to the legal economic structure providing that the assets are removed from an illegal provenance. Pre-crime means a crime where the money derived from and it can be considered a source of illegally obtained money regardless of the seriousness of the crime. Money laundering can appear in many different ways. The source of the money can be for example drug traffic or frauds. It is attempted to transfer the money to the legal system, for example by making small deposits in several banks or by buying valuables, for instance gold. The money laundering act’s purpose is to complement the announcement commitment in the money laundering law. The money laundering act regulates the issues of the identifying commitment, the caution commitment, and the announcement commitment. The banks have a major responsibility where matters of money laundering are involved. The training of personnel and interior instructions of the company guarantee that the bank’s personnel know the responsibilities and consequences of the money laundering law. In Finland there are also the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority, the Money Laundering Clearing House of Finland, and the Federation of Finnish Financial Services that regulates money laundering. These organizations have their own instructions and publications concerning money laundering. The sources of this thesis were money laundering literature, laws and acts. Also articles, statements and researches of the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority, the Money Laundering Clearing House of Finland, and the Federation of Finnish Financial Services were used. There was much information about money laundering because the subject is very current. The purpose was to collect the most relevant and the most important aspects of money laundering into this thesis. Money laundering from Nooa Savings Bank’s point of view In this thesis the purpose is to describe money laundering in Finland generally from laws and acts and also from banks’, and especially from Nooa Savings Bank’s, point of view. This thesis is made as an assignment for Nooa Savings Bank and the purpose of the thesis is to create a versatile and large money laundering guideline that the personnel of Nooa Savings Bank can use in matters of money laundering. This thesis will disclose practical perspectives, for example how personnel of the banks have to observe the commitment of identifying customers in relation to money laundering. Money laundering means any transaction which generates an asset as the results of an illegal act. The purpose is to hide the assets and move them to the legal economic structure providing that the assets are removed from an illegal provenance. Pre-crime means a crime where the money derived from and it can be considered a source of illegally obtained money regardless of the seriousness of the crime. Money laundering can appear in many different ways. The source of the money can be for example drug traffic or frauds. It is attempted to transfer the money to the legal system, for example by making small deposits in several banks or by buying valuables, for instance gold. Uuden tuotesarjan lanseeraussuunnitelma - Case: Herbaidea

Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tehdä tuotelanseeraussuunnitelma Herbaidea – vartalonhoitosarjalle, joka on tarkoitus lanseerata Suomessa kosmetologeille ja muille kauneudenhoitoalalla toimiville asiantuntijoille. Lanseeraussuunnitelmaa apunaan käyttäen yrittäjä voi suunnitella ja toteuttaa onnistuneen tuotelanseerauksen. Tutkimuksessa selvitetään myös, mitä hyötyä pienyrittäjälle on toimivista yhteistyöverkostoista.
Opinnäytetyön teoriaosuus perustuu lanseerausta ja markkinointiviestintää käsittelevään kirjallisuuteen. Teoriaosuudessa kuvataan lanseerausprosessia, lanseerauksen strategisia päätöksiä, lanseeraukseen liittyviä riskejä sekä markkinointiviestintää. Lanseerauksen kirjallinen aineisto, joita työssä käytettiin, ovat asiantuntijoiden teksteihin pohjautuvia.
Opinnäytetyön tutkimusmenetelmänä käytettiin kvalitatiivista tutkimusmenetelmää. Tiedonkeruumenetelmänä toimivat teemahaastattelut ja syvähaastattelu, joka tehtiin opinnäytetyön toimeksiantajalle. Teemahaastattelut tehtiin pääkaupunkiseudulla toimiville kauneus- ja hyvinvointialan yrityksille. Haastatteluun osallistui yksi Sokos -tavaratalo, kolme kosmetologia, kaksi hyvinvointimyymäläyrittäjää, kaksi kauneudenhoitoalan oppilaitoksen opettajaa ja yksi apteekki. Kyselyyn vastasi 10 alalla toimivaa ihmistä. Haastatteluista saatujen tulosten perus-teella laadittiin lista johtopäätöksistä ja verrattiin niitä teoriapohjaan. Näiden tulosten perusteella laadittiin tuotelanseeraussuunnitelmasta ehdotus.
Tutkimustyötä tehdessä kävi selväksi, kuinka monimutkainen ja työläs prosessi lanseerauksen suunnittelu on. Tutkimustulosten perusteella yrityksen tulisi käyttää lanseerauksen suunnitte-lemiseen aikaa ja asiantuntemusta hyödykseen. Huolellinen suunnittelu vaikuttaa ratkaisevasti tuotteen lanseerauksen onnistumiseen markkinoilla. Lanseerauskampanjalle tulee asettaa tavoitteet ja laatia budjetti. Nämä toimenpiteet ohjaavat toimintaa haluttuun suuntaan sekä auttavat pysymään taloudellisissa tavoitteissa. Ulkopuolisten asiantuntijoiden käyttö on välttämätöntä etenkin laadittaessa viestintäpäätöksiä ja lanseerauksen toimenpidesuunnitelmia.
Työstä saatujen tulosten perusteella voidaan todeta, että ennen kuin yritys alkaa miettiä lanseerausprosessin suunnittelua, olisi tärkeää laittaa ensin perusasiat kuntoon. Näitä perusasioita ovat markkina- ja asiakasanalyysit sekä markkinointisuunnitelman tekeminen.
