The purpose in this thesis was to research the freedom of speech of the employee in working life in relation to the aspect of social media. In it we found out about the freedom of speech from legislation and researched the duty of loyalty of the employee to the employer. Also, in the thesis we went through the employer’s right to supervise work. Using social media is available for the employee both in free and work time which is why the aspect of freedom of speech in social media is currently noticed. The aim of this thesis was to get the vision for the reader of the rights to use their freedom of speech as an employee. As well to be familiar with it and the duty of loyalty in the perspective of social media's wide use but also in a form that is easily understandable. The goal was to lead the study logically through the theoretical framework to the conclusions and to find the problems in the subject. At the beginning of the theoretical framework we got to know the juridical hierarchy which leads the reader towards the legislation of the freedom of speech and labour law. In the study there was also used cases in law supported by the legislation and literature. From the duty of the employee has risen the duty of loyalty and from the employer’s obligations we raise the right to supervise work. At the end we went through the definition of social media and the use of it during employment. The most essential research result was noticed as the equal definition in the Constitution of Finland (731/1999) chapter 2 section 12 for the freedom of speech of any citizen. However, the employee’s freedom of speech is limited both duty of loyalty in Employment Contracts Act (55/2001) chapter 3 section 1 and the employer’s right to supervise work in chapter 2 section 1. The behaviour of the employee in working hours in social media defines on its own the freedom of speech, duty of loyalty and the right to supervise work. The employer has a right of supervision to instruct his or her employees in well-behaved acts in social media during the employment. The employee himself/herself has also a right to find out when and how the use of social media is acceptable....

A Statement by the Social Board is a process which is based on the law and with its help information about the conditions of a child and parents can be obtained. The purpose of a report is to give a court the information which is not found available without such a report. Only the court can make a request for such a report and have need of it. When considering the court will use all the necessary material to solve the matter. The purpose of this thesis was to clarify (with the help of laws and literature) the conditional report drawn up by the Social Board Statement. The statement will be a part of the trial material when a maintenance dispute concerning the child is solved. In this work the interests of the child and the child's rights have been studied. The advantage to the child is a primary point which affects decision-making and to which attention has to be paid when decisions concerning the child are made. For the clarifying of the interest of the child the conditional report is often necessary. With the help of the literature it has been clarified how the child's opinions and wishes are discovered. The child is not personally heard in the court but the law gives the opportunity for the hearing. The hearing of the child takes place in connection with the report work of the social welfare board as a rule. I interviewed the social workers of the town of Vantaa and the judges of the district court of Vantaa so that I got an empirical point of view to my study....

The purpose of the thesis was to find out the customers´ experiences of mortgage negotiations in an online meeting. The aim was to find out whether the bank´s and customers´ opinions on the mortgage process are similar. The research was wished to obtain information about why digital channel was chosen by customers and what kind of differences were observed between an online meeting and a face-to-face meeting. In particular, experiences of having several contacts in the bank and a number of advisors involved were desirable. In addition, opinions were asked on the automation of the mortgage process. With the results of the research, the bank as a cooperation partner can develop its online mortgage process. The knowledge base of the thesis was the digitalization of banking services, online meetings and the mortgage process. Theoretical framework also included the formation and significance of customer experience and the steps of the customer path in the digital transaction process. To achieve the purpose, the research was implemented as focused interview in January-February 2018 with five customers who had participated in an online meeting and negotiated a mortgage. The results showed that an online meeting is considered as a very easy and comfortable way to negotiate a mortgage. The negotiations in an online meeting were also considered to expedite the whole process. The differences between the online meeting and the face-to-face meeting were mostly considered to be minor. The negotiations were experienced as more relaxed when carried out in your own living room and not having to go to a formal and exciting visit in a bank branch. The advisor’s expertise was also experienced on the phone. Seeing the advisor's face via video was considered to be important because of personality. The results showed that the involvement of several advisors in the process proved to be difficult, especially since the same issues had to be repeated several times to different people and misunderstandings could happen easier. Regarding the automation of the mortgage process, there were differences between the results. More inex-perienced applicants found it very important that the process always included an advisor that could be asked about unclear issues. The more experienced applicants thought the mortgage process could be more automated if there were not any important topics to negotiate. Based on the research, as a development proposal, maintaining the uninterrupted loan process with the customers emerged. It would be advisable that one advisor would handle the client's case from start to end. Another point worth noting was contact with the client after receiving the loan and the care of the customership. Customers appreciated communication other than not just sell-ing new products....

The aim of this thesis was to study child marriage. A child marriage is a case, where at least one of the parties is under 18 years of age. Child marriage is a violation of children’s rights and often marriage can mean abandoning school or child exploitation. The objective of this thesis was to find out ways of preventing child marriage in the future through the rights of child and child legislation. The thesis is methodically legal-dogmatic, meaning that the aim of the research was to clarify the content of the law through legislation, legal pretensions, legal literature and case law. This thesis reviews; fundamental and human rights, national law, equality, the rights for education and freedom of exploitation of adolescence (especially girls). In addition, this thesis examines the visas for children and the legislation concerning child rights in different countries in order to obtain a legal comparison between countries. This thesis also examines the rights of the child. The rights of the child belong to every child and are part of Convention on Human Rights and national law. According to the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of the Child, a child was considered for the first time to be a legal person, who has the right to influence decisions concerning himself/herself. The Convention on the Rights of the Child defines a child as any human being below the age of eighteen years, unless the age of majority is attained earlier according to the law applicable to the child. The convention includes four general principles that are; equality and non-discrimination, child’s best interests, the rights of the child to live, to survival and development as well as the respect for the child’s opinion. The convention provides an obligation to protect the child from any kind of harm. According to the Finnish marriage law, marriage of under 18 years of age is not allowed. However, the Ministry of Justice may, for special reasons, allow an adolescent under 18 to get married. Because of child marriage, an under 18 years old no longer enjoys the rights guaranteed by the Convention on the Rights of the Child and Finland’s current legislation gives a possibility for that through the exemption from the Ministry of Justice. As a summary, legislation is not a problem as the laws from several countries define the minimum age for marrying to be eighteen years. However, the laws are not respected in all of the countries and the problem has mainly been due to their inadequate control and punishment. Implementation and enforcement of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in the Contracting States are in practice based on the parties’ own solutions and the convention has mainly moral value in the states. One of the most important ways of preventing child marriage is to focus on ensuring that children, (especially girls), have the right to education and to emphasize the children’s awareness of their own rights....

The purpose of this thesis was to find out about small and medium-sized law firms interests and motivation to acquire technological tools and the current state of technology in these offices. The thesis was commissioned by Agens Oy, a company which specializes in digital solutions and expert services. As a whole, the thesis was intended to be used in the company´s product and service development. The theoretical framework of the thesis discussed how to utilize technological tools in the target group’s offices and what kind of impact these tools could have on the operations in these offices. The theoretical part also discussed some noteworthy issues which could be useful in commissioning new technological tools. Examples of technological tools provided a more comprehensive understanding of the most important element of the study. The theoretical framework supported the actual research process and gave a more holistic picture of the subject. The data collection method was telephone interviews. The aim was to make a clear connection with the target group, to establish a dialogue with each office and to enable more comprehensive research results. The study involved thirty small or medium-sized law offices across Finland. The interviews were supported by a questionnaire which was planned with the commissioning company. The questionnaire contained both open and specific questions. As a conclusion based on the research results, it can be stated that the majority of the participating offices have an interest in acquiring technological solutions. The results also revealed the requirements for the technological tools, such as clear concrete benefits and ease of use. As a result, the importance of guidance, support and early monitoring, provided by the tool supplier, have a huge importance during the introduction of a new tool. The use of technology was already familiar to almost every office involved in the study, at least the basic tools like Microsoft Office, and the current significance of technology was well-known, so overall a sympathetic attitude to new tools was already predictable. As a result of the thesis, a coherent and comprehensive entity was made that opened up the technological present and future of the law service industry in general and that the commissioning company can use while developing its own operations....

Askel parempaan myyntityöhön
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2018)

The topic of thesis was migration from Mäntsälä. The purpose of the study was to research and study the causes of the migration from Mäntsälä. The research method used in this study was evaluation research, and the causes of Mäntsälä’s migration were evaluated using the research materials provided by Petri Oikkonen. The research materials used was a student project led by Anssi Kemilä and Mäntsälä’s population information from August 2018. The study covered Mäntsälä’s migration from 2017 to 2018. The student project had 169 people who formerly lived in Mäntsälä, to answer questions about why they decided to move elsewhere. At first, they were asked about their background information, such as gender, age, education, profession, yearly income and household type, and also how long they had lived in Mäntsälä before moving. After that, the project explored reasons people had for moving elsewhere, and they were asked to give free comments and suggestions on how Mäntsälä could make progress. The population information revealed how the population of Mäntsälä has developed over 2017 and 2018, and also compared data with other municipalities in the region of Helsinki. The study found that the largest migration groups from Mäntsälä were the younger age groups and students, and that, the close region of Helsinki attracts people with better living conditions and more options for both studying and employment. In Mäntsälä, there was considerable amount of dissatisfaction for the state of employment, hobbies and for the local transportation and services. People were generally happy with those same factors in the areas they had moved from Mäntsälä. Possible studies to the continue the research on this topic, could be made regarding the feedback and development ideas collected from residents of Mäntsälä and people who used to live there. This way a study could possibly provide direct proposals for the development of Mäntsälä....
