The purpose of this research thesis was to study and map the current state of employee experience of the commissioning organization. The aim was to understand the various factors influencing employee experience and identify those factors that employees themselves consider most meaningful. The thesis was conducted for Organization X, with the target group being employees of youth and sports services. The background of the study stemmed from the idea that the current employee experience of the commissioning organization requires improvement. The theoretical framework extensively covers employee understanding, employee experience, the role of human experience in employee experience, the formation of experiences, three different frameworks of employee experience, and the development of employee experience. The study was conducted using a quantitative research method. Primarily, quantitative methods were utilized, implemented through a questionnaire. Additionally, open-ended questions were included in the questionnaire to support a qualitative research perspective. The questionnaire was based on Huhta & Myllyntaus's Eight-Dimensional Employee Experience Scale, aiming to assess the current employee experience in Organization X. The results of the study provided valuable information about Organization X's employee experience and its key factors. It was revealed that the most significant factors in employee experience were the social environment, leadership, well-being, and job characteristics. While the social environment, well-being, and job characteristics were generally evaluated positively, more room for improvement was identified in leadership compared to these aforementioned factors. Based on the research findings and theoretical framework, development suggestions were formulated for Organization X. The study provided the commissioning organization with valuable and timely information about its employee experience, which the organization can utilize to maintain and improve an employee experience.
