Bitcoin maksutavan käyttöönoton hyödyt kivijalkamyymälöissä
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2017)
Viiden viimeisen vuoden aikana bitcoin on levinnyt jokaiseen maailman kolkkaan. Suomessakin yhä...
Bitcoin is new and it differ clearly from traditional payment methods. It works without any single organization being able to regulate it. In last five years bitcoin has spread to all over The World. In Finland more and more stores are starting to use bitcoin as payment method, but the overall number of stores is still small. There are around 30 stores in Finland’s metropolitan area. This thesis examines with half constructed interview how the introduction of bitcoin has worked in stores. This research aims to gather information about reception, usefulness and gains of using bitcoin. Interviewees are company personnel who has understanding of bitcoins functioning at store. That way the gathered information will be as accurate as possible. A new store which considers starting to use bitcoin can use this thesis as aid to making the decision. The conclusion of the research is that the bitcoin hasn’t yet have a breakthrough in Finland as payment method. The use of bitcoin at least in Finland is still really marginal compared to other payment methods. The gains of using bitcoin are next to none and indirect gains are not taken account in this thesis. Sensations and prospects at the stores of bitcoin were really positive and all believed in its slow but sure growth. In future for example in ten years similar research ought to be done, from which we could see longer term trend of bitcoin payment method. Also research that would compare bitcoin payment method between Nordic countries would be intriguing and would give much larger picture of the phenomenon. If in the future a large store like Verkkokauppa would introduce bitcoin as payment method, it would enable research how implementing bitcoin at a large store would work and what are the benefits. Payment methods are continuously evolving part of the area of business. Old methods are replaced by new ones. Consumers are slow to adapt new payment methods and only time can tell how dominating a payment method will grow....

Markkinatutkimus mädätysjäännökselle Lohjan seudulla
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2017)

Tapahtumamarkkinointi : case: Tikkurila Smart Library
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2017)

The thesis goal was to find out what identity thefts are and what has led to their criminalization. In Finland, identity theft was criminalized in its own right and included within the criminal law on 4.9.2015. The thesis also gathered information about the manifestations of identity thefts in the Finnish society. This was examined through statistics and convictions given by courts. One of the goals was to learn about identity crime laws in Sweden and to find out how they compare to the Finnish ones. The main research method used in the thesis was legal dogmatics. Legal dogmatics is used to find out how to proceed according to the current law, ie. the judicial system. It examines the judicial system and makes it systematic. This makes legal dogmatics an excellent tool to study identity thefts and how the laws concerning them have developed. Because the thesis also examined the Swedish judicial system, the thesis used comparative law to support legal dogmatics. Comparative law helps to improve the judicial system by finding out how the same thing has been handled in other judicial systems. Although judicial systems are national systems, they have ties to other countries, for example though international treaties. Finland and Sweden belong to the European Union, so the European laws and regulations affect any new criminalizations. This is why the theoretical basis of this thesis includes both the Finnish judicial system and criminal law, and the European laws and regulations that have affected them. The thesis also explains the concepts of personal data and identity data, so that the reader can understand how they are used in this thesis. For the most part, the sources used for the thesis were; the current law, the preparative works for the laws and legal literature. These are the most important legal sources for legal dogmatics. Both domestic and international material were used. Pre-collected statistics were also used. The thesis gathered different convictions from district courts as examples as to what kind of situations identity theft can cause a conviction. The thesis also examined how the number of identity thefts had developed after they were criminalized in Finland. The sources showed that especially the identity thefts done through information networks had increased. Identity thefts that were made to cause damage to a person weren’t punishable acts in all cases before. This means that criminalizing these acts proved useful. This can be seen in the court examples presented in the thesis....

Tulevaisuuden mobiilimaksuratkaisujen hyödyntäminen palvelukehityksessä : case: VR
(Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu, 2017)
Tässä opinnäytetyössä etsittiin sopivimpia mobiilimaksupalveluja toimeksiantajan eli VR Yhtymän Matkustajaliikenteen tarpeisiin. Mobiilipalvelun tuli olla nopea, turvallinen, helposti käyttöön otettava ja yhdistettävissä VR:llä käytössä olevaan...
The primary aim of this research was to find the most suitable Mobile Payment Services for the VR Group's passenger transport use. This mobile service had to be fast, secure, easily put into service and easily integrated into VR’s current sales system via open interface. It was also important for VR to establish the related costs, and what preparations were needed when the new PSD2 -directive comes into force. The theoretical framework included a thorough investigation of electronic payments and VR’s current state of the payment method, mobile payment services and features, the content of the PSD2 directive. In addition all competitive factors that the mobile payment service needs to be popular with both consumers and businesses were discussed. The research was a qualitative theory based method using printed and electronic materials. In the theoretical study, the data was analysed based on the theory, however, the material was also used to support the authors’ own conclusions and findings as the research progressed. This research method was chosen because the analysis was not only based on a theory, it also developed based on the collected material. Based on the study, it was found that the digitalisation and PSD2-Directive will change the payment processes quickly and permanently. The user role will become more important, and customers will play a key role in measuring the profitability of services. The monopoly of Finnish banks as payment service providers will change and competition will expand to third-party payments. From a technical point of view, the introduction and maintenance of new, innovative mobile payment services will be easier than the currently active systems. The study provided VR with some possible mobile payment service providers that would fulfil the necessary requirements of the new directive. In addition, this thesis helped VR to recognise some internal targets and development areas that will be needed in this rapid development and mobilization of payments. This study also provided various development proposals....
