The aim of this thesis was to study the possibilities of insurance companies and legal services providers cooperating in claims handling. Cooperation in this context means partnership cooperation between the insurance company and the service provider in the field of legal expenses insurance. Claims partnership is rarely developed or exploited in this study field. The subject was observed from the legal dogmatics point of view based on insurance field legislation and the regulation concerning law firms and attorneys-at-law’s activity. The professional ethics for attorneys-at-law were examined mainly based on code of conduct for lawyers. The claims partnership was also studied in search of commercial and operational benefits. The implementation of claims partnership was reflected from each party – the customer, the insurance company and the legal services provider. As a result, there were found some development needs in the insurance system of legal expenses insurance. Throughout the claims partnership the insurance companies and the law firms could develop and improve the process within the limits of field legislation....

More effectivity from Facebook for small business’s marketing. Case: Vaateliike Leija The aim of this thesis was to identify and investigate means for Facebook marketing. This work includes detailed guidelines for marketing activities as well as the factors to be taken into account while planning it. The work was commissioned by a local Finnish clothing company, which did not have any experience or knowhow of Facebook marketing. The aim of this thesis was also to find arguments for confirming the hypothesis that Facebook truly is the most effective social media channel to target the company’s marketing resources. The purpose of the work was to create and implement a paid campaign, which included two distinctly different ads. The effectiveness of the adverts was monitored and analyzed in order to find out which one of them was more successful. After finding out the most effective ad type, the company is able to take advantage of it in its future marketing. The work was carried out as a functional development project. The theoretical framework includes Facebook marketing in general, as well as ways and means to succeed in marketing. This work includes methods for both free and paid online advertising, which were used for creating the company’s Facebook page, publications as well as in the implementation of the commercial advertising. In order to develop the Facebook marketing further also in the future, this work presents means for measuring and monitoring the results. The source material that was used is comprised of literature and electronic sources as well as recent studies and statistics related to the topic. The outcome of the thesis is a comprehensive and detailed report for the implementation of Facebook marketing. The results clearly support the hypothesis that Facebook is the most profitable social media channel for the company to market. The other ad created for the company turned out to be far more effective than the other. The company should take advantage of the result in its future marketing. The work also indicates, that a low budget marketing can be effective as well and reach many potential customers. To stand out from other Facebook ads, the companies should create interesting and new content that provides the customers something more than just an invitation to purchase. Innovative, creative and visually significant ads bring added value to the company. It is important to be active in Facebook marketing, so it is the company’s responsibility to continue and develop their marketing even further. Developing and exploiting customership Case: RE/MAX Casa Alto The aim of this study was to develop and exploit the customership of the commissioning real estate agent company, RE/MAX Casa Alto. In this study the client relations, customer management and how these relations are managed are examined. The aim of this study was to find out the strengths and weaknesses of the company and to create different alternatives for developing existing methods. However, does not only provide one certain way of handling customership, but primarily introduces different problems and arouses new thoughts. The aim was to fasten the study tightly to a theoretical framework. In the main chapters real estate business, building up and maintaining customer relations and exploiting customership are dealt with. The most important topics of this framework include committing and reward-ing the customers, customership management and worthwhile and valuable custom relations. This study was carried out in a quantitative way. Nineteen employees of RE/MAX Casa Alto were interviewed by questionnaire to survey their procedure concerning customership. Based on the results Casa Alto could improve their in customership management and financial exploitation. Specific points to be developed are tools for customership management, com-mitting clients and developing the company´s rewarding system. In the conclusions some suggestions to these problems are provided. Counter-terrorist financing from a bank’s perspective An act of terrorism always requires money. The banking sector plays a key role in combating terrorism financing. This study looked at the role of banking sector in counter-terrorist financing. The goal was to find out the concrete actions, how they are being used and how well do they actually prevent terrorism financing. These actions require well-trained personnel, functional systems and strict compliance to the law. The writer of this thesis is working in the banking sector in counter-terrorist financing and the interest in the subject arose from the daily work. The study includes a theoretical section and an empirical section that deals with the specialists working in this field of business. The theoretical section discusses the definition of terrorism and terrorism financing, counter-terrorism in Finland, regulations, Finnish literature and international publications. The empirical part focuses on the challenges and the current state of the banking sector regarding the actions in preventing terrorist financing. The study was based on a qualitative research method. Firstly, theme interviews were carried out with three specialists working in the field of preventing terrorist financing to obtain views on the banking sector and its role and importance. Secondly, the data was collected and results were analyzed. The study indicated that the importance of a bank knowing their customers and its operations is vital. However, there are some challenges in knowing the payee. The results showed that the legislation and regulations are not in-line with the set expectations from the banks. Additional development is needed with information sharing between different stakeholders and authorities....

The theme of the thesis is the right of inheritance and especially advancement and how to use it as a way to transfer property during a person’s lifetime. The goal of this thesis was to collect information about the advancement and see if there is any challenges or difficulties connected to it. Another purpose of the thesis was to clarify the whole subject of advancement and find a way to make it more understandable. It is possible to make decisions on how own inheritance and property will be divided and what kind of tax consequences apply to it with careful inheritance planning. There are many different methods to take into consideration when making the plan and one of the methods is an advancement. An advancement is a bigger than a normal gift given to the direct heir which has an effect on the final hereditary portion. The thesis covered different ways of inheritance planning, how to transfer property during a lifetime and also how to plan taxation. The main focus was on the advancement. At first the thesis deals with the rights of inheritance, questions of the will and different stages of the estate inventory. Furthermore the inheritance tax and legacy duty is processed in the work. After this the main focus is on the advancement, possible challenges related to it and also on the inheritance planning. Situations which are related to the succession are not dealt with in this work. The main source of this thesis was the Code of Inheritance. It contains the most part of the laws of inheritance as well as the laws considering the advancement. Other important sources were for example the law of inheritance and gift tax and other professional literature. As a final result, it can be said that advancement can be a functional way to transfer property to descendants. It is a good instrument especially when decedent wants to treat his descendants equally. However, advancement is not always the simplest option. Laws and norms of the advancement can be quite difficult to interpret. Therefore it is important not only read the norms but also study the professional literature considering the advancement....

The topic of this thesis was to chart development ideas for a metal and technology industry com-pany SabriScan Ltd (domestic production). The company produces and manufactures molds involving special mechanical processes. The main objective of this thesis was to use unmanned machine tool capacity in production, without recruiting new staff. Other objectives were to create a method that the company could use to maintain continuous improvement of the 5S system. Implementation started by studying and observing the current state of the production process. The current state was charted by using a SWOT analysis and by executing a qualitative interview study relating to the company’s personnel. Because SabriScan is a "Lean" company I decided to use many different "Lean" tools in the implementation. The purpose was to find out the current status of the production process and prepare measures for development. As a result, a new operating method was created for the production and a SIPOC process diagram that enables workers to utilize more unmanned capacity. Additionally, other results were developed such as partner 5S - a system to operate in all business areas and the" Kaizen Event - Day of Action" was established. Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on kertoa osakesijoittamisesta vaihtoehtona henkilökohtaisen varallisuuden hoitoon. Tavoitteena on auttaa lukijaa ymmärtämään osakesijoittamisen mahdollisuuksista mahdollisimman selkeästi, jonka lisäksi työssä on pyritty tuomaan erilaisia näkökantoja eri lähteistä. Aiheen tulevaisuutta on mahdotonta ennustaa, mutta suuntaa-antavina lähteinä on pyritty käyttämään osakemarkkinoiden historiaa.
Työssä pyritään etenemään askel kerrallaan aloittaen perusasioista, jonka jälkeen käsitellään erilaisia termejä osakkeista. Tavoitteena on saada lukijalle neuvoja arvo-osuustilin avaamisesta osakkeiden hinnoitteluun asti. Tämän lisäksi työssä on keskitytty 3 eri markkinoiden historiaan tarkemmin, mitä itse pidän mielenkiintoisimpana suomalaisen henkilön näkökulmasta. Aiheiden pohjustuksena on käytetty asiantuntijoiden tärkeimpiä opetuksia kappaleisiin liittyen. Koen työn hyödylliseksi osakesijoittamisesta kiinnostuneille henkilöille ketkä eivät vielä ole osaketiliä avanneet, jonka lisäksi työssä voi olla vinkkejä jo osakesijoittamisen aloittaneille lukijoille.
Osakesijoittaminen tarjoaa sijoittajalle kilpailukykyisen sijoitusmuodon, jonka tuotto on historiaan perustuen ollut parhaimpia sijoituksia vertailessa. Sijoittaminen on Suomessa melko vähäistä verrattuna esimerkiksi Ruotsiin. Suomen pankkitileillä makasi vuoden 2014 lopussa noin 8 miljardia euroa rahaa mikä osaltaan kertoo suomalaisten haluttomuudesta osakesijoittamiseen....
