Teollisen palveluliiketoiminnan kehittäminen: Digitaalinen informaatio lisäarvopalvelun tuottajana teollisen yrityksen palvelutuotteen ja asiakaspalveluprosessin kehittämisessä

Tämän tutkimuksellisen kehittämishankkeen tarkoituksena oli kehittää teollisen yrityksen palveluliiketoimintaa sähköisen liiketoiminnan alueella. Hankkeen tavoitteena oli kehittää käytännön toimintaan taustaorganisaation kotisivulle internetiin e-informaatiosivusto. Toimeksiantajana ja taustaorganisaationa kehittämishankkeessa oli Cencorp Oyj.
Tutkimuksen teoreettinen viitekehys rakennettiin teollisen palveluliiketoiminnan keskeisistä aihealueista: teollisen palveluliiketoiminnan ja teollisen palvelutuotteen kehittäminen, palveluprosessi ja tuotetiedon hallinta. Tietoperustassa etsittiin vastauksia seuraaviin tutkimuskysymyksiin: Miten tuotetaan asiakkaan tuotantoprosessiin lisäarvoa? Miten teollisuuden palvelutarjoomaa voidaan parantaa? Mitä työkaluja, malleja ja menetelmiä voidaan käyttää teollisuuden palveluiden ja palveluliiketoiminnan kehittämiseen? Miten digitaalinen informaatio liittyy teolliseen palveluliiketoimintaan ja lisäarvon kehittämiseen?
E-informaatiosivustolta Cencorp Oyj:n jälkimarkkinoinnin kanssa työskentelevät yrityksen edustajat, yhteistyökumppanit ja oma henkilöstö maailmanlaajuisesti voivat tutustua informatiiviseen ja kuvalliseen tuoteluetteloon yrityksen Suomessa valmistettujen teollisuusautomaatiolaitteiden varaosista. Digitaalisen varaosatuotekuvaston tarkoitus on parantaa käyttövarmuutta nopeuttamalla oikean varaosan saatavuutta. Kuvasto toimii työvälineenä yleisen huoltovarmuuden kehittämisessä. Sovelluksella ei ole tarkoitus korvata henkilökohtaista palvelua, vaan sillä helpotetaan varaosien tunnistamista ja parannetaan palveluprosessia.
Kehittämishankkeen lähestymistapana oli toimintatutkimus ja tutkimusote lähinnä kvalitatiivinen. Hankkeen tavoitteet ja tehtävät täyttyivät. Hankkeen varsinaisena tuotoksena syntyi teollinen palveluinnovaatio, toisin sanoen digitaalinen tuotekuvasto, jonka julkaisun yhteydessä käyttäjille annettiin mahdollisuus palautteen antamiseen asiakastyytyväisyyskyselyssä. Tutkimus osoitti, että verkkosivut todettiin hyödyllisiksi. Käyttäjät totesivat, että sivujen käytettävyys oli helppoa ja sivusto oli selkeä. Käyttäjät aikoivat myös käyttää palvelua uudelleen.
Tärkeimpänä kehittämisehdotuksena nähtiin palvelun laajentaminen myös loppuasiakkaiden käyttöön. Toisena kehittämisehdotuksena ehdotettiin mahdollisuutta lisätä tuotekuvastoon varaosien saatavuustiedot ja hintatiedot. Muita kehittämisehdotuksia olivat varaosien ryhmittely sekä automaatiolaitteiden huoltoon liittyvien työkalujen ja tarvikkeiden lisääminen tuotekuvastoon omana ryhmänä.
Jatkotutkimusehdotuksena esitettiin, että yrityksen tulisi käyttökokemusten pohjalta miettiä digitaalisen tuotekuvaston palvelun laajentamista ja monistamista koskemaan myös yrityksen muiden aiempien valmistusyksiköiden automaatiolaitteiden varaosia....

Success of the implementation of the purchaserprovider model in the Hyvinkää Hospital Area The purpose of this thesis was to examine the success of the implementation of the purchaser-provider model in the Hyvinkää Hospital Area. The study was carried out as a functional development project for a background organisation. The research problem was to find out how successful the Hyvinkää Hospital Area has been in transferring support services to municipal enterprises using the purchaser-provider model. The theoretical framework of the study consisted of the areas of strategy-based operations, purchaser-provider operations, change management and strategic and operative efficiency. In accordance with the subject of the thesis, the framework was built mainly upon the literature on purchaser-provider operations and change management. The main sources used in the theoretical part were the literature, scientific articles and internet publications of the field. The research method of the study was a case study, and the data was collected by using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The research material of the development project was collected from a questionnaire, themed interviews and document material. The questionnaire was given to the workers in leading roles in the Hyvinkää Hospital Area and completed with themed interviews. The data was analysed, and based on the results, conclusions were drawn and actions were suggested to the Hyvinkää Hospital Area. According to the research of the development project, the benefits of the purchaser-provider method were not reached using the new approach. The purchaser's status and potential to affect the services of the municipal enterprises were weak, and there were not enough reports on the services of the municipal enterprises. The research results also revealed great differences between the municipal enterprises. Those municipal enterprises, whose operations were close to the core operations of special health care, were the most successful during the change, and their services were found to be the most satisfactory. As development steps it was suggested that the background organisation pay special attention to the areas affecting the business failure during the change and also to the municipal enterprises that received the lowest assessment in the study. To strengthen the position of the purchaser, it would be beneficial to inform the municipal enterprises of the research results. Specific demands should be made for the reporting of the municipal enterprises' operations. Further research themes were introduced based on the development project. One of these was the study of the municipal enterprises’ operations and operations processes in order to find out the reason for the great differences between the municipal enterprises and to better utilise the practices of the municipal enterprises that received higher assessments. Another suggested further research theme was carrying out this research on other Hospital Areas of HUS (Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa). The third subject would be to repeat the study after the purchaser-provider model has stabilised, and the fourth to examine the communications of the municipal enterprises and the Hyvinkää Hospital Area....

Asiakkuudenhallinta : Asiakkuudenhoitomallien kehittäminen organisaation asiakaslähtöisyyden lisäämiseksi

Tämän tutkimuksellisen kehittämishankkeen tarkoituksena oli perehtyä asiakkuudenhallintaan ja kehittää asiakkuudenhoitomalleja, jotka lisäävät organisaation asiakaslähtöisyyttä. Toimeksiantajana ja taustaorganisaationa kehittämishankkeessa oli Elisa Oyj. Työ suoritettiin tutkimuksellisena kehittämishankkeena. Työn tutkimusongelmana oli kartoittaa asiakkuudenhoitomallien hyödyllisyyttä ja sitä kuinka aktiivisessa käytössä ne ovat olleet asiakasrajapinnassa sekä tunnistaa niistä selkeitä kehityskokonaisuuksia, joiden avulla liiketoimintayksikön toimintaa voidaan kehittää.
Tämän kehittämishankkeen tavoitteena oli laatia taustaorganisaation käytössä oleville asiakkuudenhoitomalleille kehittämisohjelma. Laadittu kehittämisohjelma perustuu kehittämishankkeessa toteutettuun tutkimukseen, jossa asiakkuudenhoitomallien hyödyllisyyttä ja käyttöä tutkittiin myyntirajapinnan henkilöstön näkökulmasta. Kehittämisohjelman avulla organisaatio pystyy asiakkuudenhoitomalleja kehitettäessä huomioimaan asiat, jotka ovat tärkeitä mallien käyttäjille.
Tutkimuksen teoreettinen viitekehys koostui suhdemarkkinoinnin ja asiakkuusjohtamisen aihealueista. Tietoperustassa syvennyttiin asiakaslähtöiseen liiketoimintaan, asiakkuudenhallintaan, asiakasymmärryksen kasvattamiseen ja tiedonhallintaan. Kehittämishankkeen toiminnallisen viitekehyksen muodosti ICT-toimiala ja sen erityispiirteet. Lähestymistapana oli tutkimuksellinen kehittämishanke ja tutkimusote pääosin kvantitatiivinen.
Kehittämishanke muodostui Elisa Oyj:n ja sen yhteistyöyrityksen henkilöstölle suunnatusta kyselystä sekä tutkimustulosten perusteella laaditusta asiakkuudenhoitomallien kehittämisohjelmasta. Tutkimuksen kohderyhmän muodostivat kolmen eri myyntikanavan vastaajat. Tutkimustulosten perusteella asiakkuudenhoitomallit koettiin työn kannalta pääosin mielenkiintoisiksi työkaluiksi. Asiakkuudenhoitomallien käytöstä ei tulosten perusteella yleisesti saavutettu riittävästi hyötyä työn kannalta. Tuloksissa on nähtävissä eroja eri myyntikanavien välillä. Tutkimuksen tulosten perusteella laadittiin kehittämisohjelma, joka sisältää neljä kokonaisuutta: myynnin tukimateriaalit, mallien kehittäminen, tietojärjestelmien hyödyntäminen ja henkilöstön perehdytys.
Jatkotoimenpiteiksi ehdotettiin toteutetun kehittämisohjelman käynnistämistä ja asiakkuudenhoitomallien käyttöä koskevan strategian laatimista sekä asiakkuudenhoitomalleista saatavan hyödyn huomioon ottamista koko organisaation kannalta malleja edelleen kehitettäessä. Jatkotutkimusaiheena esitettiin, että taustaorganisaatio tutkisi eri asiakasryhmien arvostamia asioita asiakaskohtaamisissa ja saamassaan palvelussa. Jatkotutkimuksen avulla asiakkuudenhoitomallien kehitykseen saataisiin myös eri asiakasryhmiä edustavien asiakkaiden näkökulma.
Arvioinnin perusteella hanke todettiin luotettavaksi. Hankkeen arvioitiin olevan hyödyllinen ja käyttökelpoinen toteutettavaksi. Taustaorganisaatio pystyy käyttämään työtä lähteenä kehittäessään asiakaslähtöistä liiketoimintaa.

Service business development : A business development plan for the Car Spare Parts Store Company Ltd The purpose of this functional development project was to assess the factors, which have an influence on the growth of the business and the development of business activities. The project was made for the Car Spare Parts Store Company Ltd and the main goal of the project was to create a business development plan which characterises the targets and operations of the company. The study was specifically limited to handling the company’s business development plan (which contained different tools and operations) and an analysis of it so that it achieved its aims. The primary concrete functional development activities had been planned to be done at a later stage (after the completion of the business development plan). The theoretical context of the study consisted of the following issues: strategic thinking, Blue Ocean strategy, strategic development, perspectives on growth, growth models and strategies, drivers of growth, business development and business development plans related to the growth of the company. In pursuance of the development project, a customer satisfaction survey (a questionnaire for the company’s customers) was also made. The questionnaire consisted of issues related to the store environment, customer service and product range. The results of the questionnaire showed that the company should invest especially in the cleanliness, the general appearance and customer service of the business. The development proposals are introduced as a part of the business development plan, which consist of the business environment, current activities of the company, targets, strategies and different plans included in the business. The business development plan specifies and evaluates the company’s activities, operations, and the risks and uncertainty of the business environment. For further development are suggested that the company will do the activities related to the cleanliness, the general appearance and improve customer service. The company should also make more profitable contracts with their wholesalers, check the contribution margin, increase the marketing and advertising and improve the customer service by the segment and customer focus and monitory of their competitors For further research are suggested different marketing surveys, such as monitoring of market share, competitors, prices, customers and impressiveness of advertising, customer satisfaction and suppliers. Internationalization through networking The purpose of this exploratory development project was to study and develop the internationalization through networking in the target organization. The project was carried out as an exploratory development project for the Association for Water and Environment of Western Uusimaa (LUVY). The research problem was to find out the suitable internationalization model for LUVY, survey potential research and development partners from Estonian markets, create internationalization plan from network perspective, clarify association’s potential to apply preparatory funding and start the international collaboration. The theoretical context of the study consisted of the internationalization and networking literature for the following themes: SME, internationalization, network and network competence. The operational framework for the development project consisted of nonprofit organization and KIBS industy. The most important sources of the theoretical context were domestic and foreign literature, theoretical articles and internet publications. The project was an action research and used qualitative methods in data collection. The research material of the exploratory development project was gathered through theme interviews and a semi-structured questionnaire. The theme interviews were conducted by interviewing the Executive Director of the association. The semi-structured questionnaire form was given the staff of the association as a part of the IDEA workshop program. The data was analyzed and the internationalization plan was created as a result of the conclusions. The study showed that the Association for Water and Environment of Western Uusimaa has good conditions for internationalization if it is able to obtain funding for the preparations from the identified financier. The study also showed that the association would have good conditions to succeed in Estonian competitive markets through a communication network. The researcher identified five potential nonprofit network partners from Estonian territory, which all were found suitable for the association’s operational activities. As a development idea it was suggested to include development activities as part of the job description of the association’s Finance Manager. Another concrete development idea was to translate association’s websites in English so that international cooperation would be easier. A further development proposal was presented on the basis of this exploratory development project. The study would examine how the benefits of the international cooperation have impacted on the profitability and project activities of the Association for Water and Environment of Western Uusimaa and whether the benefits represented in this study have been realized. From purchaser-provider model to the partnership : Case: HUS Joint Authority/ Lohja Hospital Area The purpose of this thesis was to explore network process and partnership in both a strategic and operational level, examine the reality of the cooperation related to the implementation of the purchaser-provider model and compile a partnership development plan in a target organization. The study was carried out as a functional development project at Lohja Hospital Area. The research problem was to find out the nature of the cooperation within the purchase teams, how the cooperation relationship is beneficial and how it can be developed, what are the possible barriers to cooperation and how the cooperation can be developed and deepened. The theoretical knowledge basis and framework was build on literature of business relationship and network process and consisted of the following areas: network processes, partnership, development of the partnership, creation of values in the partnership and sharing of the benefits. The context was emphasized towards literature relating to the development of partnerships in accordance with the subject of the thesis. The main sources of the theoretical context were domestic and foreign literature and scientific articles. The research method of the study was a case study and research data was collected by using qualitative methods. The research material of the development project was collected through a questionnaire, an interview and observation. The literary background material of the project was comprised of meeting memos, agreements, reports and other related documents created in the cooperation between the medical care district and business companies. The questionnaire was sent to all members of the purchase teams that took part in the study. The interview was carried out by interviewing the purchase team members of both parties. The aim of the questionnaire and interview was to find out the purchase teams' members' views on both the current situation and the future potential of the operation. The data was analyzed and based on the results, a purchase process development plan was devised. According to the research there are several areas open for development in the cooperation between the purchaser and the provider. Organizing the cooperation, resourcing and defining the goals were identified as the primary focus for development. The outcome was a development plan for the purchase cooperation and partnership. The plan suggested defining the strategic level policies regarding the goals, development, organization and resourcing of the purchaser processes, and to develop the processes of local level purchase teams, the plan gave recommendations for the organization and tasks, ambitions and goals, benefits, communication, leadership, evaluations and schedules of the cooperation. As steps of development, defining the strategic level policies of the goals, development, organization and resourcing of the purchase processes were suggested. To develop the processes of local level purchase teams, recommendations were given for the organization and tasks, ambitions and goals, benefits, communication, leadership, evaluations and schedules of the cooperation. Further research themes included studying the reality of the implementation of the suggested development plan and whether it has been possible to develop the processes of the purchase teams in a desired manner. An interesting research topic would also be the study of the operation models of the purchaser-provider cooperation between hospital areas. Further development of the purchaser-provider operation model on a local level would also require describing and developing the internal order-delivery-process and budget process so that these processes would truly meet and benefit each other....
From purchaser-provider model to the partnership : Case: HUS Joint Authority/ Lohja Hospital Area The purpose of this thesis was to explore network process and partnership in both a strategic and operational level, examine the reality of the cooperation related to the implementation of the purchaser-provider model and compile a partnership development plan in a target organization. The study was carried out as a functional development project at Lohja Hospital Area. The research problem was to find out the nature of the cooperation within the purchase teams, how the cooperation relationship is beneficial and how it can be developed, what are the possible barriers to cooperation and how the cooperation can be developed and deepened. The theoretical knowledge basis and framework was build on literature of business relationship and network process and consisted of the following areas: network processes, partnership, development of the partnership, creation of values in the partnership and sharing of the benefits. The context was emphasized towards literature relating to the development of partnerships in accordance with the subject of the thesis. The main sources of the theoretical context were domestic and foreign literature and scientific articles. The research method of the study was a case study and research data was collected by using qualitative methods. The research material of the development project was collected through a questionnaire, an interview and observation. The literary background material of the project was comprised of meeting memos, agreements, reports and other related documents created in the cooperation between the medical care district and business companies. The questionnaire was sent to all members of the purchase teams that took part in the study. The interview was carried out by interviewing the purchase team members of both parties. The aim of the questionnaire and interview was to find out the purchase teams' members' views on both the current situation and the future potential of the operation. The data was analyzed and based on the results, a purchase process development plan was devised. According to the research there are several areas open for development in the cooperation between the purchaser and the provider.
