TIIVISTELMÄ

Onnentupa Oy:n perhekodit on Keski-Uudellamaalla toimiva yksityisiä perhetyön ja lastensuojelun sijaishuollon palveluita tuottava yritys. Yrityksellä on kolme ammatillista perhekotia, jotka tarjoavat ympärivuorokautista sijaishuoltoa kodinomaisissa olosuhteissa huostaan otetuille ja avohuollon tukitoimena sijoitetuille lapsille ja nuorille. Yritys tarjoaa myös lastensuojelulain mukaista jälkihuoltoa, jota varten on kolme asuntoa. Perhetyötä varten yrityksellä on kaksi asuntoa, joissa perheet asuvat perhekuntoutusjakson ajan.

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tuottaa dokumentoidussa muodossa oleva käytännön työväline Onnentupa Oy:n perhekotien perhetyön laadukkaan toteuttamisen tueksi. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tehdä henkilökunnalle selkeä, helppokäyttöinen, työtä tukeva ja helposti päivitettävä käsikirja. Käsikirjan tarkoituksena on lyhyiden lukujen avulla johdatella lukija aiheeseen ja tarjota verkkosivuille vievien internet-linkkien avulla mahdollisuus uuden tiedon löytämiseen ja vanhan tarkistamiseen. Käsikirjan tavoitteena on saattaa lukija pohtimaan omaa toimintaansa ja sen merkitystä perheiden kohtaamisessa.

Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin toiminnallisena opinnäytetyönä. Opinnäytetyö koostuu opinnäytetyöraportista ja produktiosta, joka on käsikirja Onnentupa Oy:n perhekotien perhetyön henkilökunnalle. Toimeksiantosopimuksen mukaisesti opinnäytetyön produktiosa ei ole julkinen, eikä se ole opinnäytetyön liitteenä.

Opinnäytetyön teoreettinen viitekehys rakentuu perheen, vanhemmuuden ja perhetyön käsitteiden määrittelystä sekä dialogisuuden ja perheen jäsenten osallisuuden huomioimisesta perhetyössä. Teoriaosuuden lisäksi opinnäytetyöraportissa esitellään opinnäytetyöprosessin vaiheet ja kerrotaan käsikirjan sisältö- ja ulkoasuvalintoihin vaikuttaneista tekijöistä. Sekä opinnäytetyöraportin että käsikirjan lähdeaineistona käytettiin kirjallisuutta, tutkimuksia, hankeraportteja ja verkkosivustoja. Käsikirjan laatimisen eri vaiheissa käytettiin apuna konsultaatiota ja yrityksen henkilökunnalta saatuja palautteita.

Valmis käsikirja otettiin yrityksessä käyttöön kansiona ja sähköisenä versiona ennen opinnäytetyön valmistumista. Valmiista käsikirjasta kerättiin palautetta henkilökunnalta. Saatujen palautteiden perusteella käsikirja on monipuolinen ja kattava sekä selkeä ja helppolukuinen työväline, jota työntekijät voivat käyttää eri tavoin omiin tarpeisiinsa. Käsikirja on tarkoitettu toimeksi antaneen yrityksen perhetyön henkilökunnan ja sijaisten käyttöön. Käsikirjaa voidaan käyttää myös uuden työntekijän sekä sosiaali- ja terveysalan opiskelijoiden perehdyttämisen ja ohjauksen tukena.

Onnentupa Oy:n perhekodit is a company producing private family work and child welfare foster care services. The company has three professional foster family homes, providing foster care for children and youth taken into care, or placed in open care as a support measure. The company also provides after care as defined in the Child Welfare Act. To carry this out, the company has three apartments. For family work, the company has two apartments where families live during their family rehabilitation period.

The purpose of the thesis was to produce a documented practical tool to support the high quality family work Onnentupa Oy:n perhekodit provides. The aim of the thesis was to create a manual for the company’s staff to support their daily work. The manual needed to be clear, easy to use and easily updatable. With the help of internet links, the purpose of the manual is to offer the user an opportunity to find and check information. The aim of the manual is to persuade the user to consider his or her actions when meeting families, and to ponder the meaning and the effects of those actions.

The thesis was made as a production. The thesis consists of theory and a manual, directed to the staff of Onnentupa Oy:n perhekodit. Due to the mandate agreement, the manual is not public.

The theoretical framework of the thesis builds upon defining the concepts of family, parenthood and family work, and paying attention to dialogism and family involvement in the said family work. In addition to the theoretical part, the thesis report also displays the steps of the thesis’ making process and presents the factors behind the choices for the appearance and the contents of the manual. Literature, websites and project reports were used as source material for both the thesis report and the manual. Consultation was used at the various stages of the manual’s making process, together with feedback from the company’s staff.

The finished manual was taken to use before the completion of the thesis, as a folder and an electronic manual. According to the feedback received from the company’s staff, the manual is a versatile, comprehensive and easily readable tool, able to cover multiple needs in different situations. The manual is intended for the staff and substitutes of the family work of Onnentupa Oy:n perhekodit, but can also be used as a supporting element when training and guiding the company’s new staff.
