Tässä toiminnallisessa opinnäytetyössä kerrotaan, miten suunnitellaan ja toteutetaan hygieniatunti 3.-luokkalaisille lapsille. Opinnäytetyöhön kuuluu lisäksi hygieniaopas, jonka sopiva kohderyhmä olisi 1.-3.-luokkalaiset. Opinnäytetyössä keskitytään lisäksi alakoululaisten hygienian opetukseen ja heidän hygieniatottumuksiinsa. Tunnin ja oppaan suunnittelussa neuvoja antoivat terveydenhoitaja ja luokanopettaja.

Tavoitteena oli edistää lasten terveyttä kiinnittämällä heidän huomiota omaan päivittäiseen hygieniaansa. Tavoitteena oli myös kehittää opetusmenetelmää, joka innostaa lasta oppimaan. Hygieniatunti toteutettiin tarinan muodossa ja opetuksessa käytettiin paljon kuvia. Tunti sisälsi myös hiukan toiminnallisuutta ja keskustelua. Hygieniatunti pidettiin kahdessa eri koulussa ja molemmista saatiin hyvää palautetta. Tässä opinnäytetyössä keskitytään Itä-Porin yhtenäiskouluun.

Hygieniatunnin ajankohta oli huhtikuu 2015. Tunnin aiheet oli rajattu käsi- ja suuhygieniaan sekä hiusten- ja ihonhoitoon. Hygieniatunnin jälkeen oppilaat vastasivat lyhyeen palautekyselyyn. Kyselyn perusteella opetetut asiat olivat puolelle oppilaista ennestään tuttuja.

This thesis is a functional study about how to create and implement a hygiene lesson for the 3rd grade students. In addition, the study includes the guidebook to hygiene, which is appropriate for 1st-3rd grade children. It focuses on the teaching of hygiene to the primary school students and their hygiene habits. Advice on how to create the lesson and the guide was received from the class teacher and the school nurse.

The aim was to improve children’s health by making them paying attention to their everyday hygiene routines. Also one of the aims of this thesis was to improve the teaching methods of inspiring children to learn. The lesson was completed in a form of a story with many pictures. The lesson also included conversational and active parts. The lesson was held at two different schools and received positive feedback from both of them. Children appeared interested and engaged within the lesson. This thesis is focused on the lesson, which was held in Itä-Pori comprehensive school.

A hygiene lesson was held in April 2015. The topic of the lesson was oral and hand hygiene as well as hair and skin care. The students filled in a feedback form after the lesson. Based on the given feedback, half of the students already knew much of the material covered.
