Sähköiset palvelut lapsiperheiden tukena terveyden edistämisessä - Case: Sähköinen Neuvokas perhe -kortti

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoitus oli selvittää neuvolaikäisten lasten vanhempien käyttökokemuksia Sydänliiton sähköisestä Neuvokas perhe -kortista. Lisäksi haluttiin selvittää vanhempien yleisiä näkökulmia sähköisestä terveyden edistämisestä ja ohjauksesta. Tavoitteena oli tuottaa tietoa siitä, miten neuvolaikäisten lasten vanhemmat etsivät terveystietoa internetistä ja minkälaisille terveystiedoille ja sähköisille palveluille on tarvetta.

Tavoitteen saavuttamiseksi tehtiin kaksiosainen tutkimus. Tutkimusmenetelminä käytettiin ryhmähaastattelua ja kyselylomaketta. Tutkimukset toteutettiin keväällä 2015. Haastattelututkimuksen otos oli 33 ja kyselylomakkeita palautui tutkijoille 21. Tutkimustulosten analysoinnissa käytettiin sisällön erittely –menetelmää.

Kyselytutkimuksen tulokset osoittivat, että neuvolaikäisten lasten vanhemmat olivat pääosin tyytyväisiä sähköiseen Neuvokas perhe –korttiin ja kokivat siitä olevan hyötyä perheen arjessa. Haastattelututkimuksen tuloksista selvisi, että neuvolaikäisten lasten vanhemmat hakevat säännöllisesti internetistä terveystietoa ja suhtautuvat avoimesti internetin hyödyntämiseen terveyden edistämisessä ja ohjauksessa. Neuvolaikäisten lasten vanhemmat haluavat internetissä olevaan terveystietoon ja palveluihin selkeyttä ja helppokäyttöisyyttä.

Kyselytutkimuksen tulosten perusteella sähköinen Neuvokas perhe –kortti voisi olla nykyistä yksilöllisempi ja ulkoasultaan selkeämpi. Haastattelututkimuksen tulosten perusteella neuvolaikäisten lasten vanhemmat toivovat, että sähköisiä palveluita kehitettäisiin tämänhetkistä toimivimmiksi ja monipuolisimmiksi. Vanhemmat toivovat, että yhteydenpito terveydenhuoltoon olisi tulevaisuudessa sujuvampaa sähköisten viestintämenetelmien avulla.

Tutkimustulosten ja teoriaosuuden pohjalta esitettiin konkreettisia sähköistä terveyden edistämistä ja ohjausta sujuvoittavia kehitysehdotelmia. Tutkimuksesta saatujen tulosten avulla Sydänliitolla on mahdollisuus parantaa sähköistä ohjausmateriaaliaan paremmin käyttäjiään palveleviksi.

Jatkotutkimuksen voisi tehdä siitä, miten terveydenhuollon ammattilaiset kokevat sähköisten terveyden edistämisen menetelmien ja ohjauksen käyttämisen työssään. Sähköisten menetelmien yleistymisen myötä on tärkeää selvittää ammattilaisten kokemuksia. Toinen jatkotutkimusaihe voisi käsitellä terveyspalvelujen sähköistymisen haasteita ja haittoja yksilön ja yhteiskunnan näkökulmista. Aiheesta ei ole juurikaan tehty kriittiseltä kannalta tutkimuksia.

The aim of the thesis was to find out about experiences of the Finnish Heart Association’s electronic version of the Smart Family card. The experiences were acquired from parents with small children. The purpose was to study how health promotion and guidance are usually seen by parents of small children. The purpose of the thesis was to produce information on how parents of small children search electronic health information and what kind of health information and electronic services they need.

The thesis was executed as a questionnaire and group interview in spring 2015. The sample of the group interview was 33 and 21 completed questionnaires were returned. The data was analyzed with the help of content analysis.

The findings of the questionnaire showed that the parents of small children were generally satisfied with the electronic version of Smart Family card and they thought that the card would be useful in their daily life. The findings of the group interview showed that the parents of small children use the Internet frequently to search for health information. The parents of small children have a positive attitude towards utilizing internet in health promotion and guidance. The parents of small children think that electronic health information and services should be more explicit and easier to use.

Based on the findings of the questionnaire the electronic Smart Family card could be more individual and the layout could be clearer. Based on the findings of the group interview the parents of small children wished that electronic services would be developed to become more useful and more versatile. The parents wish that they could contact the health care providers via the Internet and thus the communication would be smoother.

Electronic health promotion and guidance were developed based on the findings in this thesis and theoretical literature. With the help of the findings in this thesis the Finnish Heart Association can improve their electronic version of the Smart Family card to be more suitable for the card users.

Future studies could be conducted on how health care professionals would like to use electronic health promotion and guidance methods in their work. This is important because electronic methods are becoming more common. Another future study could deal with the challenges and disadvantages of health care services becoming more electronic. Nowadays most of the studies are about the advantages of electronic health services.
