Rintasyöpäpotilaiden kokema tarve sähköiselle ohjaukselle

Abstract

Opinnäytetyömme tarkoituksena oli selvittää rintasyöpäpotilaiden kokemuksia ja toiveita sähköisestä ohjauksesta. Työn tavoitteena oli tuottaa tietoa, jonka avulla HUS voi arvioida tarvetta kehittää tai tuottaa sähköisen ohjauksen palveluita. Opinnäytetyö on osa HUS Syö-päklinikan kehittämishanketta ja se tehdään yhteistyössä päiväosasto kuuden kanssa. Työ rajattiin koskemaan liitännäishoitoja saavia rintasyöpäpotilaita.

Tutkimus menetelmämme oli määrällinen. Aineisto kerättiin strukturoidulla e-kyselylomakkeella, jota täydennettiin avoimilla kysymyksillä. Aineiston keruu aloitettiin toukokuussa 2015 ja lopetettiin saman vuoden lokakuussa. Valtaosa aineistosta (n=49) kerättiin osastolla tarjoamalla potilaiden käyttöön tietokone ja muutama vastaus (n=6) saatiin saatekirjeiden avulla. Aineisto (N=55) käsiteltiin tilastollisella ohjelmalla, SPSS:llä, myös Exceliä hyödynnettiin.

Suurin osa (70 %) vastaajista oli yli 50 -vuotiaita. 80 % käytti internetiä päivittäin. Rinta-syöpätietoa oli etsinyt internetistä 83 % ja tukea 40 % vastaajista. Eniten (78 %) käytettiin ammattilaisten ylläpitämiä sivustoja. Sähköisiä neuvonta palveluita oli käytetty vähän (11 %), mutta niistä oltiin kiinnostuneita. Kiinnostuneimpia oltiin sähköpostineuvonnasta (44 %) ja kysy-/vastaa palstasta (33 %). Tulosten valossa sähköisten palveluiden hyödyllisyyttä on vaikea arvioida, internetin kasvava suosio kuitenkin luo mahdollisuuksia ja tarvetta sähköisille palveluille.

The purpose of this study was to examine breast cancer Patients’ experiences and wishes for patient guidance on the Internet. The aim was to produce information for HUS to figure out, if there is need to develop or produce more e- patient guidance services. This thesis is a part of the HUS Cancer Centre development program and it was done by co-operating with nurses from day care unit six. The study was delimited to describe only breast cancer patients getting adjuvant therapy.

The method of the study was quantitative. The data was collected by using a structured e-questionnaire that we started collecting in May and finished in October. Most of the data (n=49) was collected at the ward by offering laptops for patients to use and a few (n=6) answers were got by using cover letters. The data was handled by using statistical software SPSS and Excel.

The results showed that most of the breast cancer patients were over 50 years old. 80% of the respondents used Internet on a daily basis. 83 % of them had searched for breast cancer information and 40 % for social support from on the Internet. E- Patient guidance services were used only a little (11 %) but respondents were interested in them. They were most interested in e-mail guidance (44 %) and ask & answer -forums (33 %). In the case of this study it is hard to evaluate the benefits of e- patient guidance services. The growing popularity of Internet is anyhow creating new opportunities and needs for e-health services.
