Hammashoitoa pelkäävien lasten ja heidän perheidensä terveysvalmennus anestesiahoidon aikana : opas hammashoidon henkilökunnalle

Abstract

Opinnäytetyömme aiheeksi valikoitui hammashoitopelkoisen lapsen ja lapsiperheen terveysvalmennus anestesiahoidon aikana. Kiinnostuksemme aiheeseen löytyi pohtiessamme omaa työskentelytapaamme, kuinka kohtaamme pelkopotilaita ja miten voisimme auttaa heitä anestesiahoidon vaiheissa, kuinka olisi mahdollista ehkäistä mahdollisia uusia anestesiahoito jaksoja.

Opinnäytetyömme tarkoituksena oli tuottaa opas hammashoitoa pelkäävien asiakkaiden terveysvalmennukseen. Opas tuotettiin yhteistyössä Helsingin kaupungin suun terveydenhuollon lähipalveluiden Kallion terveysaseman hammashoitolan anestesiatiimin kanssa.

Opas toteutettiin tutkitun tiedon, kirjallisuuden, yhteiskehittelyseminaarien ja Kallion hammashoitolan anestesiahoidon tiimin teema haastattelun pohjalta. Tavoitteenamme on, että hammashoidon henkilökunta saisi tuotetusta oppaasta työvälineen hammashoitoa pelkäävien lasten ja heidän perheidensä ohjaamiseen ja tukemiseen. Oppaasta tuli kuusi sivuinen tiivis kokonaisuus joka tehtiin sähköiseen muotoon, jotta sitä olisi helppo muokata tarvittaessa.

Opinnäytetyön tietoperustassa kuvataan teoreettista lähtökohtaa hammashoitoa pelkäävien lasten ja heidän perheiden terveysvalmennuksesta anestesiahoidon aikana. Tietoperustan kokoamista ohjasivat opinnäytetyön tarkoitus, tavoite ja kehittämistehtävät.

The topic of our thesis was chosen to be, health coaching for children with dental fear and their families during dental anesthesia treatments. Our interest in the topic was found, thinking about our own way of working, how we face a patient with dental fear and how we could help them during the dental anesthesia treatments.

The purpose of our study was to produce a guide, to be used as dental health coaching material for patients with dental fear. The guide was produced in collaboration with the City of Helsinki's oral health related services in the Kallio dental clinics anesthetic team.

The guide was conducted by evidence-based information, literature, co- development seminars and a theme interview made in Kallio dental clinic for the anesthesia team. Our goal is that the dental staff could be able to use the guide as a tool for guiding and supporting the children with dental fear and their families. The guide became a six pages long com- pact package, which was made into online format to make it easier to edit it if needed.

Our thesis knowledge base, describes the theoretical approach of health coaching children with dental fear and their families during the anesthesia treatment. Knowledge Base composition was directed by purpose, objective and development tasks of the thesis.
