Positiivisten kokemusten vahvistaminen Green Care menetelmillä

Abstract

Opinnäytetyö tehtiin toimeksiantona sekä yhteistyössä Muurutvirran hoitokodin kanssa. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tutkia Green Care – toimintaa, sekä sen erilaisia menetelmiä joilla pyritään vahvistamaan asukkaiden positiivisia kokemuksia luonnon ja eläinten avulla, Muurutvirran hoitokodissa. Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin havainnoimalla kahta eri tapahtumaa, jotka järjestettiin Muurutvirran hoitokodilla. Ensimmäisen havainnointitapahtuman jälkeen tehtiin reflektoivia haastatteluja tapahtumaan osallistuneille, jolla pyrittiin vahvistamaan havainnoinnin tuloksia. Toisen havainnointitapahtuman jälkeen näitä haastatteluja ei tehty. Opinnäytetyöhön kuului myös osana tehdä palautekysely Muurutvirran hoitokodin asukkaille, jolla pyrittiin hakemaan kehitysideoita hoitokodin Green Care -toimintaan. Opinnäytetyön tutkimukseen osallistuneet kokivat luonto- ja eläinlähtöisen toiminnan virkistävänä ja positiivisena. Osallistuminen toimintaan loi onnistumisen mahdollisuuksien tuntemisen, oman tarpeellisuuden vahvistamisen sekä kokemusten uudelleen elämisen.

The Bachelor´s thesis was made by commission in co-operation with Muurutvirta hoitokoti Oy. The goals of the thesis were to research Green Care and it´s different methods of strengthening the positive experiences of the tenants with the help of nature and animals in the Muurutvirta hoitokoti Oy. The thesis was done by observing two different events organized at the Muurutvirta hoitokoti Oy. After the first observation reflective interviews were made with the participants in order to strengthen the observations made. After the second observation the interviews were not made. The thesis included a feedback interview with the tenants in order to gather development ideas for the Green Care method in the nursing home. The participants in the thesis research experienced the nature and animal oriented activities as refreshing and positive. Participation in the activities created feelings of success, strengthening of self-worth and reliving past experiences.
