Koesoitto : mitä koesoittoon valmistautuvan huilistin olisi hyvä tietää

Abstract

Koesoitto on orkesterimuusikoiden ainoa rekrytointitapa. Se on muusikoiden työhaastattelu, jossa vain taidot ratkaisevat.

On vaikeaa valmistautua johonkin, josta ei tiedä mitään. Siitä syntyi idea tähän opinnäytetyöhön – tarpeesta valmistautua hyvin tuleviin koesoittoihin. Työ toimii apuna koesoittoon valmistautuvalle huilistille ja tuo koesoittotilannetta tutummaksi kokemattomalle muusikolle.

Työn aineistona toimii pääasiassa haastattelumateriaali, jota keräsin haastattelemalla Tampere Filharmonian intendenttiä, huilun äänenjohtajaa sekä vuorottelevaa konserttimestaria. Osallistuin opinnäytetyön tekemisen aikana omaan ensimmäiseen koesoittoon, josta kirjoitan tässä työssä. Tämä työ tarkastelee koesoittamista erityisesti huilistin näkökulmasta.

Tieto ja taito siirtyvät musiikkialalla yleensä suullisesti opettajalta oppilaalle, kokeneelta kokemattomalle. Se on tietoa, jonka yleensä saa hankittua vain kokemuksella ja kirjallista tietoa koesoitoista on niukasti. Näin on myös koesoittamisen suhteen.

Olen koonnut tähän tietoa ja kokemuksia koesoittotilanteista sekä vinkkejä koesoittoon valmistautuvalle huilistille. Osana työtä on myös raportti opinnäytetyökonsertistani ”Koesoitosta konsertiksi”.

Audition is the only way to employ orchestra musicians. Audition is a job interview for musicians and only skills matter.

It is hard to prepare oneself if one doesn't know what they are preparing themselves for. From this point of view became the idea for this thesis – from the need to prepare oneself well for the auditions in the future. This thesis will provide tools for a flutist who is preparing her-/himself for an audition and make the audition situation more familiar to unexperienced musicians.

The study work for this work comes mainly from the interview material that I collected by interviewing the intendent, the principal flute and the co-concertmaster from Tampere Philharmonic orchestra. I took part to my first audition during the make of this thesis and I will also write about it in this work. This work is examines auditions especially from the point of view of a flutist.

On the field of music knowledge and skills are carried on from the teachers to the students by worth of mouth. It is knowledge that is usually gotten only by experience and there can be found only a small amount of literal information. This concerns also the audition theme.

In this work I have collected information and experiences from auditioning and some advice for a flutist who is preparing him-/herself for an audition. A report of the artistic part of my thesis, ”From an audition to a concert”, is also part of this work.
