Esteettisyys hoitotyössä

Abstract

Tämän työn tarkoituksena oli selvittää, miten esteettisyys on yhteydessä hoitotyöhön. Työn tavoitteena oli saada selville, minkälainen merkitys ympäristön esteettisyydellä on potilaan paranemiseen ja hyvinvointiin sekä mitkä seikat potilaan ympäristössä vaikuttavat paranemiseen. Lisäksi opinnäytetyössä vastattiin kysymykseen, kuinka ympäristön esteettisyys vaikuttaa hoitajan työhön. Työssä tarkasteltiin myös, mitä hoitajan esteettinen asenne tarkoittaa.

Opinnäytetyö on kirjallisuuskatsaus, jonka avulla voidaan syventää jo aiemmin tutkittua tietoa. Työn aineisto kerättiin sähköisistä tietokannoista Cinahl, Cinahl Complete, Medic, PubMed, sekä estetiikkaa määriteltäessä käytettiin kirjallisuutta. Tämä opinnäytetyö on osa ESTETIQUE- hanketta.

Tulokset osoittivat, että esteettisyys on tärkeä osa hoitotyötä. Opinnäytetyössä kävi ilmi, että esteettisyys näkyy sekä ympäristössä, että hoitajien asenteessa ja toiminnassa. Esteettinen toiminta on laaja-alainen käsite, johon kuuluu monta eri osa-aluetta. Esteettisen ympäristön merkitys on tärkeää potilaan terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin kannalta eikä esteettisyyden merkitystä voi liikaa väheksyä. Tuloksissa käsiteltiin ympäristön esteettisyyttä potilaan ja hoitajan näkökulmasta.

The purpose of this thesis is to explain how the aesthetics is in contact with nursing. The main objective of this study is to figure out, what the meaning of the surroundings are for the patients’ welfare and recovery, what are the factors of surroundings that has an influence on patients’ recovery, and how the aesthetic appears in a nurse’s work. In this thesis it was also examined what the aesthetic attitude for nursing means.

The thesis is a literature review. Already previously examined scientific knowledge can be deep-ened in this thesis. The data was gathered from electronic databases Cinahl, Cinahl Complete, Medic, PubMed. The literature was used to define the meaning of esthetic nature. This thesis is a part of an ESTETIQUE- project.

The results indicated that the aesthetic is an important part of nursing. According to the results the aesthetics appears both in the surroundings and in the action as well as attitude of the nurses. To act aesthetically is a widely recognized concept, in which includes many different sections. The meaning of an aesthetic surroundings is important when it comes to the patient’s health and welfare, and it’s meaning cannot be diminished. In the results the aesthetics of surroundings was concerned from the patient’s and nurse’s point of view.
