Kätilöiden ja kätilöoppilaiden univormut ja pätevyysmerkit : kuvakokoelma teksteineen

Abstract

Tämä opinnäytetyö on osa Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulun Hoitotyön koulutuksen museon projektia historiasta nykypäiviin ja tulevaisuuteen. Museossa on esillä kymmenen kätilön ja kaksi kätilöoppilaan univormua ja neljä pätevyysmerkkiä kahdessa kätilön huoneessa. Tarkoitus oli valokuvata univormut ja pätevyysmerkit sekä koota yhteen hajanaisesti olevaa historiallisesti arvokasta aineistoa univormuista ja pätevyysmerkeistä.

Kätilöiden huoneissa olevat kätilöiden ja kätilöoppilaiden univormut ja pätevyysmerkit valokuvattiin. Museossa on kätilön univormuja aina 1800-luvulta 2000-luvun alkuun asti. Univormut ja pätevyysmerkit valokuvattiin ja tallennettiin nykyaikaiseen muotoon sekä etsittiin tietoa univormujen symboliikasta sekä sen merkityksestä kätilötyöhön. Opinnäytetyöhön tuotiin tietoa yhteiskunnallisista muutoksista ja niiden vaikutuksista kätilötyöhön sekä kätilökoulutukseen.

Tavoitteena oli löytää tietoa kätilökoulutuksen kehityksestä, kätilötyön vaiheista, murroksista ja ajanhengestä. Opinnäytetyö julkaistiin innovaatioprojektina kätilökoulutuksen 200-vuotis juhlassa Turussa keväällä 2016. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tuoda museolle laajempaa näkyvyyttä sekä tunnettavuutta.

Opinnäytetyö oli monimuotoinen, visuaalinen ja toiminnallinen. Valokuvat univormuista ja pätevyysmerkeistä ovat työssä erillisenä liitteenä kuvaluettelon muodossa. Opinnäytetyö jatkui innovaatioprojektissa, jossa hyödynnettiin opinnäytetyön sisältöä. Innovaatioprojekti on liitetty osaksi opinnäytetyötä. Innovaatioprojektissa tuodaan näkyväksi osa opinnäytetyön tuloksista, joka yhdistetään Suomi itsenäisenä 100 vuotta, ennen ja jälkeen itsenäisyyden projektiin. Projekti tehdään yhteistyössä Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulun Hoito-työn koulutuksen museon sekä Suomen Kätilöliitto ry:n kanssa.

This study is part of the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences’. Museum of nursing education project from the history to the present day and the future. The museum is featuring ten midwife and two midwife student uniforms and four qualification badges in two midwifery room. The purpose of this study was to photograph the uniforms and qualification badges as well as to gather together historically valuable material concerning the uniforms and the qualification badges.

The uniforms and qualification badges of midwives and midwifery students were photographed in the midwifery rooms in the museum. There are midwife uniforms from the 1800s until the early 2000s in the museum. The uniforms and qualification badges were photographed and stored in a contemporary form and the study also includes information about the symbolism of the uniforms as well as its importance in midwifery work. The thesis also focuses on social changes in the society and their impact on the work of midwives and midwifery education.

The aim of this thesis was to find information on the development of midwifery education the different phases, changes and current phenomena in midwifery work. The purpose published the thesis in connection with the innovation project in the 200th anniversary celebration of midwifery education in Turku in the spring of 2016. The purpose of this study was to achieve wider visibility and awareness of the museum.

The thesis is a multiform, visual and functional. The photograph of the uniforms and qualification badges are presented in a list of images attached to the thesis. The thesis continued in an innovation project where the content of the thesis was utilized. The Innovation project has been integrated into the thesis. The innovation project presents some of the results of the thesis and is combined with the Finland 100 years before and after the independence- project. The project is conducted in co-operation with Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences’ Museum of nursing education, as well as with the Association of Midwives.
