Kierrätysmuovipullo haastaa pullomuotoilun

Abstract

Opinnäytetyöni perusta on juomapakkausten verotuksen muutos, jonka seurauksena vuodenvaihteessa 2008 myös kierrätysjärjestelmä muuttuu. Uudelleentäytettävistä muovipulloista siirrytään kertakäyttöisiin, jotka kierrätetään raaka-aineena, jolloin pullojen muotoilu osittain vapautuu. Tavoitteena on tarkastella muutosta muotoilijan näkökulmasta ja tuottaa työkalu suunnittelutyön avuksi. Lähteenä on käytetty sekä lainsäädäntöä että alan toimijoiden haastatteluja. Työn suunnitteluosiossa esitetään kierrätysmuovipullosta kolme konseptia esimerkkeinä muutoksen antamista mahdollisuuksista.

The focus of this thesis is to look at the changes in taxation and how it will and has affected beverage packaging. In 2008 refillable plastic bottles are replaced with disposable ones that are recycled as raw material. The aim is to study the change from the designer's viewpoint and create a tool to facilitate and speed up the design process. The two main sources of data that has been used are; legislational information and interviews from manufacturing and recycling specialists from plastic industry. In the design-part of the work there are three concepts presented. These act as example case studies for the reader to find their own opportunities.
