Abstract

Tämä toiminnallinen opinnäytetyö käsittelee koulussa annettavan päihdekasvatuksen tukemista ja kehittämistä toiminnallisten menetelmien avulla. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli luoda sosiaalipedagogiseen näkökulmaan pohjaava toimintamalli päihdekasvatuksen toteuttamiseksi yläkoulun seitsemäsluokkalaisille. Me ollaan sankareita kaikki -toiminnallisen päihdekasvatusmallin tavoitteena on ehkäistä nuorten päihteidenkäyttöä vahvistamalla heidän itsetuntoaan, lisäämällä heidän päihdetietouttaan ja kehittämällä nuorten sekä sosiaalisia että elämänhallintataitoja. Opinnäytetyö kokonaisuudessaan on toiminnallinen päihdekasvatusmateriaali, joka sisältää teoriaosuuden, opinnäytetyön tuotoksena syntyneen Me ollaan sankareita kaikki -toiminnallisen päihdekasvatusmallin ja sen käytännön toimivuuden arvioinnin. Opinnäytetyön teoriaosuudessa tarkastellaan nuorten ja päihteiden välistä suhdetta, ehkäisevää päihdetyötä ja koulun päihdekasvatusta sekä sosiaalipedagogista viitekehystä ja sen osana toiminnallisia menetelmiä. Opinnäytetyön liitteiksi on koottu päihdekasvatusmallin sisältämän toiminnan yksityiskohtainen kuvaus ja oheismateriaali. Me ollaan sankareita kaikki -toiminnalliselle päihdekasvatusmallille asetetut tavoitteet saavutettiin siltä osin kuin ne oli mahdollista toteuttaa. Nuorten päihteidenkäytön ehkäisyn toteutumista on mahdotonta arvioida opinnäytetyön resurssien puitteissa lyhyellä aikavälillä. Toimintamallin testauksesta saatujen kokemusten sekä testaukseen osallistuneiden nuorten palautteen perusteella toimintamalli on päihdekasvatuksen välineenä toimiva. Kaikki testaukseen osallistuneet nuoret kokivat päihdekasvatustoiminnan hyödylliseksi itselleen ja suurin osa oli sitä mieltä, että vastaavanlaista toimintaa tulisi olla koulussa enemmän.

This functional Bachelor's Thesis deals with the support and development of intoxicant education given out in schools using functional research methods. The aim of the Bachelor's Thesis was to create a functional operating model based on social pedagogical point of view to be implemented with intoxicant education for seventh-graders in Upper Level of Comprehensive School. The goal of the "We All are Heroes" - functional intoxicant educational model is to prevent adolescent intoxicant usage by building up confidence, adding to the knowledge of intoxicants and developing both social- and life-management skills of the youngsters. As an entity the Bachelor's Thesis consists of functional intoxicant educational material, which includes theory, the "We All are Heroes" - functional intoxicant educational model produced as the outcome of the Bachelor's Thesis and the evaluation of its effectiveness in practice. The relationship between youngsters and intoxicants, the preventive intoxicant educational work done in schools, the social pedagogical framework, and with it, the functional methods are all examined in the theory part of the Bachelor's Thesis. A detailed description of the functional intoxicant educational model can be found in the annexes of the Bachelor's Thesis along with the supplementary material. The goals set for the "We All are Heroes"-functional educational model were achieved in the extent in which it was possible to carry them out. It is however impossible to evaluate whether the model prevents adolescent intoxicant usage, as the time in which the study was carried out was short. Based on the experiences gathered during the testing of the functional model and the feedback got from the youngsters who took part in the testing, it can be said that the functional model is an effective tool in intoxicant education. All the youngsters who took part in the testing experienced the intoxicant education useful for themselves and most of them were of the opinion, that similar activity should be offered more in schools.
