Perhekuntoutusta kehittämässä : Perhekeskus Pajurinteen perhekuntoutusyksikön toimintastrategian uudelleen suuntaaminen

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli kehittää Perhekeskus Pajurinteen perhekuntoutusyksikköön uusia toimintamuotoja vanhojen rinnalle. Tavoitteena oli kehittää toimintamuodoista sellaisia, että ne tukisivat ja palvelisivat paremmin seinäjokisia lapsia ja lapsiperheitä. Aihe opinnäytetyöhön saatiin perhekeskuksen johtajalta.

Opinnäytetyö on laadullinen tutkimus, jossa käytettiin kehittävän toimintatutkimuksen menetelmää. Lastensuojelun sosiaalityöntekijöiden ryhmähaastattelu toteutettiin joulukuussa 2009 ennakointidialogin avulla. Sosiaalityöntekijöiltä saatiin lastensuojelun asiantuntijoina erilaisia näkökulmia perhekuntoutusyksikön toiminnan uudelleensuuntaamiseen. Lisäksi haastateltiin perhekeskuksen johtajaa avoimena haastatteluna marraskuussa 2009. Perhekuntoutuksen uudelleen suunnattujen toimintamuotojen kehittämisen perusteina käytettiin valtakunnallisia kehittämisen painopisteitä, lastensuojelulakia, sosiaalialan ammattilaisten ajankohtaisia puheenvuoroja sekä Seinäjoen lastensuojelun suunnitelmaa ja Seinäjoen kaupungin mielenterveys- ja päihdestrategiaa.

Kehitettyjä toimintamalleja perhekuntoutusyksikköön olivat intensiivinen kotiinpäin tehtävä perhetyö sekä ennaltaehkäisevän tuen vauvapaikka. Opinnäytetyössä otettiin kantaa myös siihen, onko lastensuojeluilmoitus aina tehtävä päästäkseen peruspalveluja vahvempien palvelujen piiriin. Tutkimustulokset kertovat, että Seinäjoella lasten ja lapsiperheiden palvelujen kehittämiseen löytyy selvää tarvetta. Tuloksista voidaan päätellä, että erityisesti ennaltaehkäisevien palvelujen kehittämiseen tulisi tulevaisuudessa yhä enemmän panostaa.

The purpose of the thesis was to develop new forms of activity alongside the old ones in the family rehabilitation unit of Family Centre Pajurinne. The objective was to develop the forms of activity such that they would support and better serve children and families with children living in Seinäjoki. The subject for the thesis was received from the director of the family centre.

The thesis is a qualitative study where we applied the method of developmental action research. In 2009, we conducted a group interview with social workers in child welfare services by means of an anticipation dialogue. The social workers, as experts in child welfare, gave various perspectives for re-orientation of the activi-ties of the family rehabilitation unit. Furthermore, we interviewed the director of the family centre with an open interview in November 2009. The grounds used for de-velopment of the re-directed forms of activity in family rehabilitation included na-tionwide focus areas of development, current addresses by professionals in social services as well as the child welfare plan of the city of Seinäjoki and the mental health and intoxicant strategy of Seinäjoki.

Operating models developed for the family rehabilitation unit included intensive family work done toward the home as well as a baby place in preventive support. The thesis also takes a stand on whether a child welfare notification should be made every time, so that the person in question can have access to services that are more intense than the basic services. Results from various studies show that there is a distinct need for development of services provided to children and families with children living in Seinäjoki. From those results, we can conclude that ever bigger investments should be made in the development of preventive services in the future.
