Lasten fysioterapia perusterveydenhuollossa : Etelä-Pohjanmaan sairaanhoitopiiriin kuuluvien terveyskeskusten lasten fysioterapiapalvelut

Abstract

Nykypäivänä panostetaan yhä enemmän lasten ja nuorten terveyteen. Suomessa tehdyn lapsille ja nuorille suunnatun kehittämisohjelman avulla terveyssektorin roolia terveyden edistäjänä kehitetään.

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on tuottaa tietoa kunnille, Etelä-Pohjanmaan sairaanhoitopiirille ja sen asiakkaille/potilaille Etelä-Pohjanmaan sairaanhoitopiirin alueella toimivien terveyskeskuksien lasten (0-15-vuotiaat) fysioterapiapalveluista. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli selvittää, miten Etelä-Pohjanmaan sairaanhoitopiirin kuuluvissa terveyskeskuksissa lasten fysioterapia toteutuu. Lisäksi tavoitteena oli selvittää, minkälaiselle täydennyskoulutukselle on tarvetta.

Opinnäytetyön kysely toteutettiin määrällisenä eli kvantitatiivisena tutkimuksena. Aineiston keruumenetelmänä oli itse laadittu internet-pohjainen kyselylomake, joka toteutettiin Webropol-ohjelmalla. Kyselyyn vastasi 26 fysioterapeuttia Etelä-Pohjanmaan sairaanhoitopiirin terveyskeskuksista.

Kyselyn tuloksista kävi ilmi, että 19 fysioterapeuteista toteuttaa lasten fysioterapiaa. Heistä 50 % kohtaa lapsia viikoittain. Fysioterapiassa käy eniten koulu- ja murrosikäisiä potilaita/asiakkaita. Tuki- ja liikuntaelimistön ongelmat ja kehitysviivästymät muodostavat suurimmat ongelmaryhmät.

Lisäksi kyselyn tuloksista kävi ilmi, että lisä-/täydennyskoulutukselle on tarvetta fysioterapeuttien keskuudessa. Fysioterapeuteista (vastaajia 18) 94 % toivoi lisä-/täydennyskoulutusta koskien lasten fysioterapiaa. Fysioterapeutit toivoivat lisä-/täydennyskoulutuksen järjestäväksi tahoksi eniten sairaanhoitopiiriä ja ammattikorkeakoulua.

Nowadays people pay more attention to health of children’s and young people. A development program for children and youth has been made in Finland. Public health care has a major role in promoting children’s and youths health.

The purpose of this thesis is to produce information to municipalities, the South Ostrobothnia hospital district and its clients/patients about the children’s’ (0-16-years-old) physiotherapy in health centres in the South Ostrobothnia hospital district. Thesis aim is to find out how the physiotherapy of children is accomplished in South Ostrobothnia hospital district’s area. Furthermore, our goal is to find out what kind of supplementary education is needed.

Thesis’s is a quantitative study carried out by a questionnaire. The questions were planned and questionnaire carried out with the Internet- based program called Webropol. 26 answers were received from the physiotherapists who work in health centres of South Ostrobothnia hospital district.

Results of the questionnaire indicate that 73 % (19) of the physiotherapists who answered to the questionnaire work with children. 50 % of those meet the children every week. School-age children and teenagers form the main client groups. Musculoskeletal problems and problems of delay in development are the main problem areas among the children.

The results also show that supplementary education is needed among the physiotherapists. 94 % (18) of the physiotherapist hoped for supplementary education of the children’s physiotherapy. The physiotherapists hoped that the education is organised by Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences and the hospital district.
