OPETUSVIDEO KESTOKATETROINNISTA CENTRIA-AMMATTIKORKEAKOULULLE

Abstract

Opinnäytetyömme toteutettiin tuotekehittelyprojektina, jonka tarkoituksena oli luoda selkeä ja tiivis opetusvideo Centria-ammattikorkeakoulun käyttöön. Opetusvideo tuotettiin teoriaopetuksen tueksi hoitotyön opiskelijoille. Sen tavoitteena on tukea heidän oppimistaan ja kontaktiopetusta kliinisen hoi-totyön toimenpiteisiin kuuluvan kestokatetroinnin oppimisessa.

Työmme teoriaosuudessa käytiin läpi yleistä oppimista, video-opetusta, sairaanhoitajan ammatillista osaamista ja kestokatetrointia. Työssämme käsiteltiin myös tuotekehittelyprojektin eri vaiheet. Työm-me lopussa pohdimme eettisyyttä, luotettavuutta sekä työmme etenemistä ja toteutumista.

Ennen opetusvideon kuvaamista teimme alkukartoituskyselyn viimeisen vuoden hoitotyön opiskelijoil-le. Sen tarkoituksena oli kartoittaa sitä, mitä he toivoisivat opetusvideon sisällöksi. Heidän toiveensa ja mielipiteensä huomiotiin laatiessamme käsikirjoitusta. Videon kuvaaminen toteutettiin syksyllä 2017, ja projektissamme oli mukana opinnäytetyömme ohjaaja sekä Centria-ammattikorkeakoulun digisuun-nittelija. Projektiryhmän oltua tyytyväinen videoon näytimme sitä vielä viimeisen vuoden hoitotyön opiskelijoille ja heidän palautteidensa perusteella muokkasimme videon lopulliseen muotoon. Opetus-video jätettiin hoitotyön opettajien vapaaseen käyttöön Centria-ammattikorkeakoululle.

Jatkotutkimushaasteena on tehdä opetusvideo englannin kielellä, jolloin myös kansainväliset hoitotyön opiskelijat voisivat hyödyntää sitä. Toisena jatkotutkimushaasteena voisi olla uusien verkkotehtävien kehittäminen, joiden avulla voitaisiin tukea opiskelijoiden oppimista liittyen kestokatetrointiin.

Our thesis was carried out as a product development project. The purpose of this thesis was to create an explicit and compact educational video for Centria University of Applied Sciences. The educational video was made to support nursing students’ theory studies. Its objective is to support their learning and contact teaching regarding indwelling catheterization, which is one of the clinical nursing procedures.

For the theoretical framework we covered the theory of teaching in general, teaching via video, nurse’s professional competence and indwelling catheterization.We also went through all the phases of product development project and considered the ethicality and reliability of the thesis. Finally, we considered the progress and implementation of our entire project.

Before we started filming the educational video, we organized a poll for senior nursing students. Its purpose was to map out what they would like to include in the educational video. Their suggestions and opinions were taken into account in the making of the script. The filming was carried out in the autumn of 2017. The supervising teacher and digital designer also took part in the project. After the project team was contented with the video, we showed it one more time to the senior nursing students. We made final changes in the video based on their feedback. We authorized the free use of our video for educational purposes to the nursing teachers of Centria University of Applied Sciences.

In the future, the video could be translated in English, so that the international students could also benefit from it. Our project could be improved even further by creating online exercises which would support students’ learning concerning indwelling catheterization.
