Microsoft Intune for Education työasemien hallinta

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tutkia ja testata Microsoft Intune for Education -ohjelmiston hyödyntämistä Siilinjärven kunnan opetusverkon työasemien hallintatyökaluna.

Työssä tutustuttiin Microsoft Intune for Educationin ominaisuuksiin ja toimintoihin perustamalla Azure Active Directo-ry toimialue Office 365 ja Intune for Education -tilauksilla. Virtuaaliympäristöön luotiin Windows 10 -työasemia, jotka liitettiin toimialueeseen ja työasemien avulla testattiin MS Intune for Educationin toimintaa opetuslaitteiden hallinta-työkaluna. Toimintaa testattiin myös Siilinjärven kunnan Azure AD toimialueessa.

Työssä testattiin myös Microsoft Intune -hallintatyökalua Siilinjärven kunnan opetusverkossa, mikä on Intune for Educationia vastaava mutta laajempi työkalu työasemien hallintaan. Työn tulosten perusteella todettiin, että Siilin-järven kunnan on mahdollista käyttää Microsoft Intunea työasemien hallintaan mikäli he päättävät ottaa sen käyt-töön. Työn tulosten perusteella todettiin myös, että Microsoft Intune olisi mahdollista ottaa käyttöön tämän hetkisen opetusverkon työasemien hallintamallin korvaajaksi.

Opinnäytetyölle asetetut tavoitteet saavutettiin. Työstä saatu informaatio hyödyttää Siilinjärven kuntaa päätöksessä haluavatko he ottaa tuotteet käyttöön. Opinnäytetyö on hyvä johdanto Microsoft Intune for Educationiin ja sen mah-dollistamiin toimintoihin.

The aim of this thesis was to study and test the utilization of Microsoft Intune for Education -software as a manage-ment tool of the workstations in the educational network in the municipality of Siilinjärvi.

The first part of the work was to get familiar with the features of Microsoft Intune for Educations by establishing an Azure Active Directory domain with Office 365 and Intune for Education subscriptions. Windows 10 workstations were created to a virtual environment and then joined to the domain. Intune for Education as workstation manage-ment was then tested with these workstations. Management was also tested in the Siilinjärvi municipalitys Azure Active Directory domain.

Also Microsoft Intune was tested in Siilinjärvi municipalitys education network. Intune is software similar to Intune for Education but is a more extensive tool for workstation management. Based on the experiments, it is possible for Siilinjärvi municipality to use Microsoft Intune for educational workstation management, if they decide to start using it as a replacement management tool for the current practice.

The aims of the thesis were reached and as a result, the information of this thesis will benefit Siilinjärvi municipality in case they decide to start using these products. The thesis is a good introduction to Microsoft Intune for Education and the features which it enables.
