Tiivistelmä
This paper describes the development of an Augmented Reality mobile application to help introduce the mechanics of machinery in an industrial environment. The basic aspects of Augmented Reality concepts along with a step-by-step process of developing an application will be offered. The need for a good understanding of how a machine operates and its motions are excellent domains for Augmented Reality applications. The idea is to bring visual information of industrial machines as effortlessly as possible into the view of a user. The key hardware of this application will be a mobile phone, which uses an image detection system named Vuforia, that superimposes the augmentations of a working welding arm in the view of the user. Aspects of the usage of this application related to equipment introduction and providing an experience by accessing the inaccessible will be discussed.
