Tervetuloa-kansio Savonlinnan keskussairaalaan lastentautien yksikköön

Abstract

Opinnäytetyömme menetelmänä käytämme tuotekehitysprosessia, jonka avulla on tarkoitus luoda esittelykansio Savonlinnan keskussairaalan lastentautien yksikköön. Saimme idean lastenosaston henkilökunnalta. Osastolla oli jo pieni esittelylehtinen, mutta siihen toivottiin täydennystä. Lastentautien yksikössä hoidetaan lapsia ja nuoria vastasyntyneistä 16-vuotiaisiin. Esittelykansion on tarkoitus palvella yksikön potilaita sekä heidän vanhempiaan. Tuotekehitysprosessin ensimmäisessä vaiheessa teimme kirjallisuuskatsauksen. Sen avulla löysimme esittelykansion pohjaksi näyttöön perustuvaa tietoa. Opinnäytetyön teoriaosuudessa kuvaamme lapsen kasvua ja kehitystä imeväisiästä nuoruusikään. Ikävaiheiden kuvaamisella pyrimme havainnollistamaan, miten eri vaiheet lapsen kehityksessä vaikuttavat kansion käyttöön ja sen sisällön ymmärtämiseen. Käsittelemme myös sairaalaympäristöä ja pelkoa sekä niiden vaikutuksia lapseen. Lapsen kehitysvaihe määrää useimmiten pelon aiheet ja selittää hänen käyttäytymistään sairaalassa. Hygieniaa ja aseptiikkaa käsittelemme melko laajasti, koska niiden toteuttaminen lastenosastolla on haastavaa. Kansio sisältää myös osion käsihygieniasta. Perhe, vanhemmuus ja kasvatus ovat tärkeitä lapsen kehityksen kannalta. Lapsen joutuessa sairaalaan korostuu vanhempien tuen merkitys ja iänmukaisen hoidon toteutus. Yksilövastuinen hoitotyö eli omahoitajuus tukee myös lapsen kehitystä ja luo turvallisen hoitoympäristön koko perheelle. Tervetuloa-kansio osaston potilaille, sekä heidän vanhemmilleen rakentui toukokuussa 2010. Etenimme kansion suunnittelussa tuotekehitysprosessin vaiheiden mukaisesti. Kansion sisältö on rakentunut osastonhoitajan sekä yksikön henkilökunnan tarpeiden ja toiveiden mukaisesti. Kansion info-osuuksissa on tietoa esimerkiksi osaston henkilökunnasta, käsihygieniasta, päiväohjelmasta ym. Lisäksi kansio sisältää artesaani Ninja Behmin piirrokset, jotka ovat toteutettu osastolta otettujen valokuvien pohjalta. Valmista tuotetta arvioimme Terveyden edistämisen keskuksen kriteereiden mukaisesti. Tuotetta voivat hyödyntää sekä lastentautien yksikön potilaat ja vanhemmat että osaston henkilökuntakin.

Our thesis is a product development process, which purpose is to create an introduction file for the paediatric ward at Savonlinna central hospital. We got the idea from the nurses at the ward. There was already a small introduction file at the ward, but it was not extensive enough and the staff hoped completion. The paediatric ward cares for children from 0 to 16 years of age. The introduction file is meant to serve the patients and their parents. For gathering the information, we used a literature review. We also found evidence based information in the internet. In the theory section we describe a child`s growth and development from an infant to a youngster. By describing the different ages, we specify, how the different stages in a child`s development affect the use and contents of the file. Furthermore, we discuss the hospital environment as well as fear including their impact on a child. The reason for fear is usually determined by the age of the child and it explains the child`s behaviour in hospital. Hygiene and asepsis are also thoroughly discussed, because they are hard to carry through on a paediatric ward and because there is a section of hand hygiene in our file. Family, parenthood, and parenting are very important in a child`s growth and development. When a child is admitted at the hospital, the meaning of parental support and care according to the age is emphasized. Individual nursing also supports the child and creates a safe nursing environment for the whole family. Introduction-file for the patients and for their parents was finished in May 2010. We proceeded according to the stages of the product development process. The contents of the file were created according to the wishes and ideas by the ward staff. There is information on the staff, hand-hygiene, daily programme etc. We also included photograph-based drawings by Ninja Behm. We evaluated the product by using the criteria set by the Finnish Centre for Health Promotion. The product can be useful for the ward and the target group.
