S2 lasten kielellisen kehityksen tukeminen päiväkodin varhaiskasvatuksessa

Abstract

Toiminnallisen opinnäytetyömme aiheena on suomi toisena kielenä (S2) -lasten kielellisen kehitys varhaiskasvatuksessa. Opinnäytetyömme tarkoituksena oli tukea S2-lasten kielellistä kehitystä eräässä päiväkodissa Pohjois-Karjalassa. Tavoitteena oli kehittää päiväkodin kielellisen kehityksen tukemisen menetelmiä ja tuottaa menetelmäpankki S2-lasten kielellisen kehityksen tukemiseksi päiväkodin käyttöön. Menetelmäpankkiin toivottiin monipuolisia menetelmiä, jotka olisivat helposti otettavissa käyttöön päiväkodin arjessa. Osallistimme päiväkodin lastentarhaopettajat menetelmäpankin suunnitteluun teemahaastatteluiden avulla. Toteutimme lisäksi kolme S2-lasten ohjauskertaa, joissa havainnoimme menetelmien soveltuvuutta. Hyödynsimme myös reflektiopäiväkirjaa sekä keräämäämme palautetta menetelmäpankin kokoamisessa. Opinnäytetyön tuloksena syntyi monipuolinen ja hyödyllinen menetelmäpankki sekä konkreettinen materiaali päiväkodin käyttöön. Menetelmäpankkiin koottiin erilaisia toiminnallisia menetelmiä, pelejä, leikkejä, loruja ja lauluja. Päiväkodin henkilökunnan palaute osoitti, että menetelmäpankkia pidettiin monipuolisena sekä hyvänä työkaluna S2-lasten kielellisen kehityksen tukemiseen. Suurin osa menetelmistä harjoituksista on muokattavissa eri-ikäisten S2-lasten käyttöön.

The theme of our functional thesis is to support the linguistic development of S2 children in early childhood education. The purpose of our thesis was to support the linguistic development of S2 children in the day care center. The aim was to develop the methods of day care centers linguistic development support and to produce a method bank for supporting linguistic development of S2 children for the use of kindergarten staff. Key methods were theme interviews, observation and reflection diary. We participated kindergarten teachers for planning the method bank with help of theme inter-views. We also carried out three control sessions for S2 children, where we observed the suit-ability of the methods. We also utilized a reflection log, as well as the feedback that we collected when assembling the method bank. Various methods were hoped to be included to the method bank to support the linguistic development of the S2 children, which would be readily available in everyday life in the day care center. The result of this thesis was the creation of a versatile and useful method bank and concrete material for the day care center. A variety of functional methods, games, puppets and songs were collected into the method bank. Based on the feedback from staff, the method bank was considered a versatile and good tool for supporting the linguistic development of S2 children. Most of the methods of exercise are customizable for the use of S2 children of different ages.
